Excel Charts, add custom forecasting line - excel

I got the following graph (in purple):
Now I want to add the dotted forecasting line.
It's a cell value, but not referenced to the point on the X-Axis (Oktober 13).
I am a bit lost as to how I could accomplish it. Anyone got an idea?
Thanks in advance

As I responded to this exact question in the Mr Excel forum:
Use data like this and make a simple line chart:
Date Actual Forecast
10/1/2012 1650
11/1/2012 1050
5/1/2013 1100
6/1/2013 1125
7/1/2013 1400
8/1/2013 1100
9/1/2013 2200 2200
10/1/2013 1450 2450
11/1/2013
12/1/2013

Can be achieved (in my case with Excel 2007) but proved to be rather fiddly and I would not recommend an x-axis with irregular time intervals:
Basically a Stacked Line chart, with November 13 and Dezember 13 data points formatted for Line Color No Line and one of the Oktober 13 data points formatted with a different Line Style.
A question like this might be better suited to Super User where, if you are lucky, you might attract Jon Peltier's attention.

Plotting time series in Y axis of the excel sheet

Its excel-2013. I have some data points as below.I want to be able to show the start time, finish time of a particular job for a specific date in a excel sheet. And i want to do it for ~30 days of a month. But when i plot it using simple line chart, its not detecting and plotting the exact the 'start time' in Y axis. Can you guide me here , how i can do this?
Date Start Time Finish Time Duration
1-Jan-20 1/2/2020 2:48 1/2/2020 7:12 4.4
2-Jan-20 1/3/2020 2:34 1/3/2020 8:25 5.85
3-Jan-20 1/4/2020 3:14 1/4/2020 9:04 5.84
4-Jan-20 1/5/2020 1:19 1/5/2020 5:50 4.52
5-Jan-20 1/6/2020 2:29 1/6/2020 6:39 4.16
6-Jan-20 1/7/2020 2:14 1/7/2020 8:22 6.15
I tried to use line chart but in that the Y axis i.e the start time value is converted to number automatically. And even formatting that to the time data type is not helping. Its coming something as below.

It sounds like you're describing a Gantt chart. Those are used for project management. Excel doesn't have a simple way to make Gantt charts. (MS Project is another Micro Soft application, and it does.) But I did find a link to an Excel template, and there are other templates our there as well. Just search "Excel Gantt".

Advance Excel chart, scatter chart with multiple axis value with time lapse

I have 7 different measurement points on which is temperature measured for every hour (timestamp). Like these pic down.
I want graph similar like these.
Data table:
timestamp m1_temp m1_dist m2_dist m2_temp
Mar 9, 2017 12:00:00 AM 51.72 20.00 10.00 41.72
Mar 9, 2017 1:00:00 AM 48.73 20.00 10.00 38.73
Mar 9, 2017 2:00:00 AM 43.51 20.00 10.00 33.51
I get:
So problem is now:
I need to pick timestamp range (button or just calendar with time) and see animation (not real animation, it would look like that because data ranges would change for example every 2 seconds) on chart trough that time. It would be great to see chart title as timestamp.
Maybe connect points with line, it would be more visible to the viewer.
Thanks in advance
Currently, I don't think it's possible to have timelapse animation in Power BI visuals.
There is an idea related to this that you can vote on though:
Animation for ALL!
Without animation, there are a couple possible ways to attempt a similar thing. Either use a slicer for time or else show all times at once.
To do this, your data will need to be formatted a bit differently like this:

Excel - Is it possible to create nested 2D stacked bar chart?

I'm trying to create a "nested" 2D stacked bar chart in excel but I only got until stacking the columns. Unable to show "work %" inside "Used %". Is there a way to accomplish this in excel? I seen a similar example but that was in BI and not in excel.
Update:
Please note that "Work" is a subset of "Used".
Total =100 & Used = 50, then Used % = 50%
Used = 50 & Work = 50 , then Work % = 50% (of Used).
Hope this clarifies.
Name Type Total Used Work Used % Work %
Mike Sport1 100 50 25 50 50.00
Mike Sport2 175 75 50 42.86 66.67
Mike Sport3 50 40 10 80 25.00
Mike Sport4 200 110 40 55 36.36
Rita Sport1 75 25 10 33.33 40.00
Rita Sport2 150 100 80 66.67 80.00
Rita Sport3 100 75 35 75 46.67
Rita Sport4 125 100 80 80 80.00
I'm suggesting an approach further down, but your question needs a lot of clarification. The clarification would normally go into a series of me writing comments and you responding by editing your question and providing more details.
I don't feel like going through this rigmarole right now, so, please read my questions for clarification, try to understand what I'm after and then go and edit your question to provide the required detail.
My questions to you:
What is the information you want to derive from the data? What question are you posing to the data that the chart should answer?
Your data table does not make sense. The "total" column totals --what exacty--? How come "used" is 50 and "work" is 25 but Used% is 50 and Work% is also 50?
Name Type Total Used Work Used % Work %
Mike Sport1 100 50 25 50 50.00
Please edit your question and either amend the data or explain how it all hangs together.
What data do you want to chart? The scribbles on your scan are less than conclusive.
My suggestion:
These questions aside, you can create a stacked column chart with the data you want to display. You may need to create a helper table as the data source for the chart, just so everything is in the correct place for easy selection and rendering.
Whether or not something is a percentage or part of a bigger unit can be shown by formatting the colors of the data points, and with data labels.
You can add data labels to any series and then edit the labels to receive their values from spreadsheet cells. The whole thing can be automated with VBA.
If you don't want to write that kind of VBA yourself (which is understandable) you can download the free XY Chart Labeler tool by Rob Bovey here. It is ill-named and can actually add labels to any chart type.
I'm aware that this is not a complete answer. I expect you to edit your question with the missing information, so I can subsequently edit my answer to supply a real answer.

Stacked chart for budgeting example

I have data in three columns:
01.1.2010 Spent 555
01.1.2012 Planned 34343
01.1.2012 Spent 6565
01.1.2014 Planned 34312
01.1.2015 Planned 2323
I wish to create a stacked chart where the horizontal axis will have only dates, and if there's data, stack the planned amount and spent amount in one bar. So in this case I should have four columns and the column for 2012 date should be stacked with Planned first (one color) and Spent (different color).
How might I achieve this?
Might be easiest to rearrange your source and then allow Excel to 'do its thing':

Displaying multiple results in a graph in Excel?

Hey I need to displaying the following results in a graph in excel, such that all the results are together in one graph?
Results Addition ArrayLookup Function Call Fibonacci
Opt1 462 1259 891 14
Opt2 511 1191 865 13
I can't seem to find a way to do this in excel. I want the opt1, opt2 etc on the x-axis, and then the clock cycles on the y-axis, and all 4 test programs in different colours.
Any help would be great, thanks.
The chart type you're looking for is 'Clustered Bar/Column'. As your table stands, it wants to group on columns, as just selecting your array and clicking on the chart type won't spit out the chart you want. On Office for Mac, there is a button for 'Switch Plot' which will tell excel to group on rows. If you can't find it, simply transposing the array and making a clustered bar/column chart should do the trick.
