Layout Editor Continues to crash after Eclipse Reinstall and Java upgrade - layout

I've been ripping my hair out for the last two days trying to figure this out. Everytime I open the Eclipse Android Layout Editor, Eclipse crashes. I've reinstalled Eclipse, made sure I have the latest Java Developer Kit, and I followed previous posts' advice on changing the eclipse.ini file.
AFter reinstalling Eclipse, now when I try to open a new project, it crashes. Can someone please help me.

I was finally able to figure it out after help from a very intelligent friend. We reinstalled the video card drivers and it worked!!! I spent 12 hours trying to figure this out. Anyway - I've posted this answer under another similar post, so please don't flame me for repeating myself.

Version 7.13.0 Bixby IDE update. Action .js scripts appearing as normal text?

I have updated the Bixby IDE today to the most recent update: Version 7.13.0. I was wondering if it is normal for the .js action scripts to appear without theme and color?
Thank you.
Thank you for letting us know.
A hot fix has been deployed by IDE group. I've verified the fix myself.
Version (7.13.0-r20d.15375) would fix this issue. Please restart IDE and follow the prompt to download/install new version.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for letting us know this issue so quickly. Wish you have some fun developing with Bixby.

Eclipse, Ubuntu - Eclipse IDE not starting (Well kinda)

I am very experienced with eclipse, using it since its Juno days, but today i have ran into one of the strangest bugs and want to know if any of you have had this bug and if you may have an answer as to how to fix it. (Or at least a work-around to getting my favorite IDE working again).
I recently updated to Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial) and it seems nothing wants to work like it did when i had Wiley, namely eclipse. I used the installer to download the IDE and launched it and i got a strange issue where the IDE would load and ask for a workspace, but would then show a dialog box that is using the screen buffer as its data.
Screenshot with strange eclipse launch
I then thought that it may be an issue with the downloaded file (Corruption or something) so i downloaded the tar from eclipse.org directly. I extracted the tar and launched the eclipse executable and it loaded up and asked for a workspace again and began to launch, and finally it came up, the same old back buffered box.
So i got the idea to run it from the console and got this output, but i have no idea what it means. I saw no stack traces so im sure its fine (Again it may be a GTK error, so any ubuntu people this is where you come in)
Console Run with the same problem
I started to think it was my java version (Oracle JDK 9 for Linux)that was the problem so i did a test compile of the hello world program and everything was fine, it all worked.
(Would add screen shots but im new here so i dont have enough reputation to do so :( )
Any idea what it might be? Any help would be great!
I found the problem, i installed the latest version of java in the apt repository. This version was JDK9 which Eclipse does not support (At least not until Eclipse Oxygen). I purged the computerof JDK9 and installed JDK8 and everything worked fine!
Moral of the story, don't use JDK9 on Neon
I am running a dual boot windows 10 and Ubuntu 16.04, I have similar issue where I can see all the file menu and the eclipse launched on the tool bar, I have selected the application and used ctrl+WindowsKey+left, right to split the application to half of my screen and then magically it appeared,Then I adjusted to fit to my screen.
Would a fresh install work? I didn't have any issues. Perhaps ask this on ask ubuntu, too.

AndroidStudio update destroyed everything and I need help as to which way I should rebuild (details of fiasco within)

After this huge mess from one AndroidStudio update, am cleaning everything and starting from scratch.
I'd like to ask if anyone knows if I should go with specific versions of Java.
But first my headache, although I just cleaned my computer of AndroidStudio.
I have Win 10 64 bit
HAD AndroidStudio 1.51 (it said it was JRE:1.7.0_79-b15 amd64)
After the update I had a "Unsupported major.minor version 52.0" error
Following some posts I upgraded the Java on my machine.
First "1.8.0_74" but AndroidStudio couldn't find the JDK directory, so I installed "1.8.0_73" and AndroidStudio found the JDK directory. But then I started getting rendering errors but with Rendering Problems Exception raised during
rendering: com.android.ide.common.rendering.api.LayoutlibCallback.getXmlFileParser(Ljava/lang/String;)Lorg/xmlpull/v1/XmlPullParser;
Anyway, that's it. This has become such a tragedy that I would rather start from scratch, but if anyone could point me as to the proper (steps) of which way I should go, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks ahead,
Sergio
I met this issue when I updated the api android 23 N (preview). In xml editor, change the Api to render into Api 23 android 6.0 and Autimatically Pick best. This would solve the problem.

Yes.. i also faced same problem,I have resolved with changing the version to api 23.generally it will take best/latest version ,in my case its set to N preview.

REDHAWK IDE sandbox not appearing in SCA Explorer

I am using version 1.9.0 of the REDHAWK IDE on CentOS 6.5 and ran software updates today, made up of OpenJDK updates.
Before the updates, I was able to see the sandbox and chalkboard in the IDE. When I opened the IDE a little while after the updates, the sandbox was gone.
I tried installing Java SE JRE version 1.8.0_05 and restarting REDHAWK IDE without success.
I then tried a fresh IDE installation, which successfully showed the sandbox for two different times starting the IDE. Although, after being closed for an hour or so, the sandbox went missing again.
Does this sound like a java issue? If not, is the IDE breaking itself in some way?
Note that during the time of REDHAWK inactivity I was only using a word processor and a web browser.
Edit: Prior to the updates I had installed the newest GNU HAWK components and was able to load various GNU HAWK components onto the chalkboard with the sandbox still showing up.
I had the same issue, and ended up fixing it by commenting out the following line in the eclipse.ini file:
#-Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBClass=org.jacorb.orb.ORB
For other people looking at this, I went through the basic example in the Getting Started and the plot window would flash and go away. It is related to that line in the accepted answer.

Why don't I have a iPhone monotouch project option in monodevelop after installing monotouch?

I just installed the following on my macbook pro running Mac OS X 10.6.6:
xcode_4.0.2_and_ios_sdk_4.3
MonoFramework-2.10.1_3.macos10.novell.x86
MonoDevelop-20402005
in that order as described by http://monotouch.net/Documentation/Installation.
However, when I start monodevelop, I am not seeing a iPhone Monotouch Project option under the C# projects. I don't get any error messages when monodevelop starts up.
Is there a way to troubleshoot this? Anyone have any suggestions on what else I can try to get this working?
You know I feel very stupid, Dimitris thank you i didn't realize that was a seperate download on the site for some reason i thought installing monodevelop would take care of it all. Installing monotouch (what do you know... ) did the trick
