Sybase is going to release some new ASE/REP patches SP100 then SP101 instead of ESD#
What will be the differences between ESD# and SP100?

According to SAP/Sybase it's just name change to fall in line with the SAP way of doing things, as they continue to integrate product lines. SP stands for Support Package, where ESD stands for Electronic Software Distribution, but functionally they are both patches to prior software releases.
Some of the expected changes between versions of ASE can be found here:

Rob Verschoor, one of the SAP Sybase Engineers just posted a blog about this very topic:

Is there any difference between the two parameters?
If not, what's the reason there's two parameter names that do exactly the same thing?
The name ‘-wholename’ is GNU-specific, but ‘-path’ is more portable; it is supported by HP-UX find and is part of the POSIX 2008 standard.

I saw vi-mode implementation for fish shell, but I have no clue how to use it. Is there any tutorial available online describing basic functionality, e.g. how to switch modes?
In fish 2.3.0 and later:
Run fish_vi_key_bindings to start vi mode
Run fish_default_key_bindings to go back to default mode
If you want to make it the default, add the fish_vi_key_bindings command to ~/.config/fish/config.fish.
I am using fish 2.2.0. The following worked for me:
Edit $HOME/.config/fish/functions/fish_user_key_bindings.fish
function fish_user_key_bindings
fish_vi_key_bindings
end

I want to do mindmaps which are of the quality of mindmeister that you could include picture and links etc and would be able to export it reasonably well and print it.
I love X-Mind. I don't know if it does what you need, but I only use a small subset of it and still it rocks!
It has a very complete free version that never expires and doesn't contain crapware.

I prefer Freeplane but FreeMind can do the same things:

Can anyone recommend a good opensource or free bayes net software program?
I have been using baysealab with a class, but my account will expire and I'd like to continue building and using bns.
If you have access to matlab:
BNT is great
If you prefer python:
NetworkX or Orange
Or for Java:
Weka API
Weka does not have the best documented API, but is quite rich in what algorithms are available.
Hope this helps.

like what is X windows,Cygwin, file system
Well, first you have to choose which Linux distribution you wish to use/learn, then you just use that distro's documentation, which normally has allot info.
You can find here some linux beginner lessons: http://www.linux.org/lessons/beginner/toc.html
Finally the best way to learn, besides reading is "getting your hands dirty". Install a distro of your choice and mess with it :)
I think this is a great way to start
