I thought this would be simple enough but apparently not... Currently I'm just trying to make some simple HTML/JS files to test out bootstrap, and I'm leaving them on my C drive, and attempting to view them from within my browser (chrome). However, when I try, it just tells me the HTML file I'm pointing at isn't a website and that's the end of it.
What exactly am I doing wrong?
EDIT: It just says this
No webpage was found for the web address: file:///C:/.../test.html
Try starting your browser in admin mode. Open the properties window of your browser executable (C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe), go to Compatibility tab and check "Run this application as administrator"

I created a Safari Web Extension using the script that generates the project from a Chrome extension.
My users are confused by the process of buying the app and then running it which just opens a window that does nothing (they keep asking for refunds saying the app doesn't work). So I want to add some more text into the app window that tells them they have to look for the extension in Safari.
I can see how to add the text in the html file called "Main". But in my Mac app this means that the content no longer fits within the apps window. I'm trying to figure out how to change the size of the app window.
Also, the script generates a Mac app with a help menu but it just says that help is not available. How do I go about adding some help to explain that this App does nothing and that the extension is in Safari?
It seems like the script does a lot of the work for you but you still have to learn a bit about developing an App (rather than an extension) to make it a polished experience.
We're trying to show a web page on pepper's tablet, but something goes wrong. How can we get the browser's error messages to debug the web page?
We know js 1.5 is implemented, so we installed all kind of polyfills for Promises, forEach, etc. But no luck. How can we get meaningful debugging info?
thx

I create a git for showing a web page and send event with the module ALMemory ( see it for an example). For debugging, it is more complicated but you can also try this. You can create a template for showing web page and connect directly it to your robot. For example, you install it on your pc and create a web-page template with python jumpstart.py service-tabletpage my-package-name MyServiceName. A package will be create in a file output. Open this app on choregraphe and install it on the robot. You can after that launch on your computer the web page (double click on index.html, name by default) and just adding at the end of the url ?robot=ip_of_the_robot. You can now debug your code.
I want to know if it's possible to launch windows applications from a website. If it is possible, how? Sort of like battlelog for battlefield, when a button is pushed it opens an application.
Edit: This is for personal use
Try this:
Make each button be a link to download a company template file for the given application. For example, the "Excel" button would download and the user should be prompted to open it with Excel.
For instance, try clicking one of the links here:
http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy&hl=en&q=template+filetype:xls
Linking to static files on the web server should be sufficient, so long as your server sends the correct MIME-Type or Content-Type.
HOPE it helps!
Take a look at this thread. it should point you in the right direction. In short you can do this in IE using ActiveX objects. But I must warn you that it is a very bad idea
I have a link http://xxx.yyy.net/zzz/OpacAccess?wsdl that opens in IE and shows the methods of web service correctly.
However, I have a console application where I'm trying to add a web reference but I'm not able to get it working. I right-click the project and click "Add service reference..." From here, I click "Advanced..." and from there I click "Add Web Reference...". When I enter the URL here, it shows me the methods correctly, but I'm unable to add the reference (the button is greyed-out) and the following error is shown:
There was an error downloading 'http://xxx.yyy.net/zzz/OpacAccess?wsdl'. Unable to connect to the remote server. No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:80.
If I use the visual studio command-line with the following command,
wsdl http://xxx.yyy.net/zzz/OpacAccess?wsdl
, I get "There was an error processing http://xxx.yyy.net/zzz/OpacAccess?wsdl", followed by the above errors.
Thanks very much in advance for any assistance you could provide.
In general, when you can access something through the browser, but not through another program you believe should work like the browser, then the problem is that the other program is not, in fact, behaving like the browser does.
The most common reason for this is proxy settings. The browser will usually have them set (perhaps automatically through Group Policy or the equivalent), and your other program will not.
I have two servers with virtually identical setups (the second that is working has been around longer than the other). For my newer server when I just put an address to a PDF in the browser it launches a download dialog. If I put the same address (just changing the server name) in the browser to my older server it displays in the browser just fine. There is no difference between the files themselves. The issue is I want to display these pdfs in an iframe on a page and the same thing is happening with the iframe (the new server launches a download instead of the pdf just showing in the frame).
Any ideas would be most appreciated!
Once I started looking into SP 2010 as being the cause I found that there is a default setting for all new 2010 sites that causes this issue. The following blog post had the most complete information on the subject:

Please indicate web server your are using
Initial suggestion may be this has to do with MIME-TYPE setup
