Displaying a subview on button click - xamarin.ios

I am developing an ios app in xamarin .How to display a subview(i have used xcode IB for creating a subview) when a button is clicked.Then when i click the same button, again subview must be displayed.If button is pressed 3 times, 3 subviews must be displayed.

In a very common way it will be something like that:
yourButton.TouchUpInside += (object sender, EventArgs e) => {
var newView = new UIView();
// do some stuff with your view here
this.Add (newView);
};

How to create popover in Xamarin iOS (iPhone)?

I am creating a page where on click of a button a popover should appear as that in screenshot attached.
I have almost tried many methods to do so.but all ended up showing full screen.Is there really not any way to create a popover in Xamarin iOS?
Can any one help me with this?enter image description here
You can construct the custom pop view controller, then present it with the UIModalPresentationStyle Popover:
//The pop view controller you want to show, here I use Storyboard to initialize it
PopoverViewController popViewController = Storyboard.InstantiateViewController("PopoverViewController") as PopoverViewController;
//Set the presentation style to popover
popViewController.ModalPresentationStyle = UIModalPresentationStyle.Popover;
//The popover view's size
popViewController.PreferredContentSize = new CGSize(150, 150);
//The pop view's position
popViewController.PopoverPresentationController.SourceView = MyBtn;
popViewController.PopoverPresentationController.SourceRect = MyBtn.Bounds;
popViewController.PopoverPresentationController.PermittedArrowDirections = UIPopoverArrowDirection.Up;
//We can also customize the background color
//popViewController.PopoverPresentationController.BackgroundColor = UIColor.White;
popViewController.PopoverPresentationController.Delegate = new PopOverViewDelegate();
PresentModalViewController(popViewController, true);
Do not forget to set the delegate below to achieve the same effect on iPhone:
public class PopOverViewDelegate : UIPopoverPresentationControllerDelegate
{
public override UIModalPresentationStyle GetAdaptivePresentationStyle(UIPresentationController forPresentationController)
{
return UIModalPresentationStyle.None;
}
}

Nokia S40 LWUIT Back Button

I'm building a nokia s40 app. I've set this app to be in full screen mode and I notice that when I set this full screen mode, I've lost the native back buttons.
I need to build a back button like the native back button (always on screen, in the bottom right side of the screen). I've tried it with a borderlayout and putting it on the south, but the text from the center container doesn't appears over this...and has transparent background.
If anyone has some sample code, it will be great.
this code simply located a button in the bottom right side of the screen. it's work well.
public void startApp() {
Display.init(this);
Form f = new Form();
//Create a ComponentGroup for all components except backbutton
final ComponentGroup cg = new ComponentGroup();
final Button backButton = new Button("BackButton");
// add this part to your code
f.addOrientationListener(new ActionListener() {
public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt) {
Dimension d = new Dimension(Display.getInstance().getDisplayWidth(), Display.getInstance().getDisplayHeight());
cg.setPreferredSize(d);
backButton.setX(Display.getInstance().getDisplayWidth() - backButton.getPreferredW());
}
});
//set CoordinateLayout to f
f.setLayout(new CoordinateLayout(Display.getInstance().getDisplayWidth(), Display.getInstance().getDisplayHeight()));
//Dimension d = new Dimension(Display.getInstance().getDisplayWidth(), Display.getInstance().getDisplayHeight());
cg.setPreferredH(Display.getInstance().getDisplayHeight());
cg.setPreferredW(Display.getInstance().getDisplayWidth());
cg.setLayout(new BorderLayout());
cg.addComponent(BorderLayout.NORTH, new Button("NORTH"));
cg.addComponent(BorderLayout.EAST, new Button("ESET"));
cg.addComponent(BorderLayout.WEST, new Button("WEST"));
cg.addComponent(BorderLayout.CENTER, new TextArea("sdsdsd"));
cg.setX(0);
cg.setY(0);
backButton.getStyle().setBgColor(0x2233ff);
backButton.setX(Display.getInstance().getDisplayWidth() - backButton.getPreferredW());
backButton.setY(Display.getInstance().getDisplayHeight() - backButton.getPreferredH() - f.getTitleArea().getLayoutHeight());
f.addComponent(cg);
f.addComponent(backButton);
f.show();
}
you can do like this to any form.
if you want back Button is showed in all forms you can write some OOP programming to do this.
it works well.

Display screen on button click in blackberry eclipse

I recently started creating an app for blackberry. I want the app to display a screen (Let's say it's called "InfoScreen") but as I said i am still very new to this. What code will I have to use if I want the "InfoScreen" to be show when the button "buttonInfo" is clicked?
Here is some code I used to create the button that is might relevant to this question.
//Create button
ButtonField buttonInfo = new ButtonField("Information", Field.FIELD_HCENTER);
//Center buttons
VerticalFieldManager vfm = new VerticalFieldManager(Field.USE_ALL_WIDTH);
vfm.add(buttonInfo);
add(vfm);
What code will have to be used for both touch-screen devices and those that use the track-pad?
Thanks
Try this:
FieldChangeListener infoListener = new FieldChangeListener() {
public void fieldChanged(Field field, int context) {
UiApplication.getUiApplication().pushScreen(new InfoScreen());
}
};
buttonInfo.setChangeListener(infoListener);

monomac - how to call a new form when click a button

My Monomac project has 2 forms (Form/Views): Mainwindow and form2. (I created form2 using: New -> monomac -> Cocoa View with controller > name is : form2)
On the MainWindow form I have a button. I want to make form2 show/visible when I click that button.
Action when button is clicked is: a1. This is my code :
partial void a1 (NSObject sender)
{
Console.WriteLine ("a1 call form2");
var f1 = new form2Controller();
f1.LoadView();
}
I want to show form2 once the view is loaded, what must I do?
If you've created a "Cocoa Window with controller", then you want to do this to show the window:
f1.Window.MakeKeyAndOrderFront();
If you've created a "Cocoa View with controller", then you have to hook up your window that you added to the xib to an outlet, then call it like:
f1.MyOutletForTheWindow.MakeKeyAndOrderFront();
To make a window visible, you will need to call the ShowWindow method of the view controller.
partial void a1 (NSObject sender)
{
Console.WriteLine ("a1 call form2");
Form2Controller form = new Form2Controller();
form.ShowWindow(this);
}

Fire parent click event when child is clicked in windows form user control

I have a user control
public partial class ButtonControl : UserControl
which has two controls of label and picturebox
this.pictureBox1 = new System.Windows.Forms.PictureBox();
this.text = new System.Windows.Forms.Label();
I have used this control in a windows form
this.appointmentButton = new DentalSoft.UI.Controls.ButtonControl();
created an event
this.appointmentButton.Click += new System.EventHandler(this.appointmentButton_Click);
but the problem is, if i click on the image or the label inside of the control, the click event doesn't fire.
I want to fire this click event no matter where the user clicks inside of the control. Is it possible?
Yes it is a simple matter. When you click on the child controls they receive the click event and the user control does not. So you can subscribe to the child control click events and when they occur simply raise the usercontrol click event and it will appear to click no matter where the mouse is positioned.
Just double click on the picturebox and the label to create the click event handlers then add a line of code to call the parent usercontrol OnClick method.
private void text_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
this.OnClick(new EventArgs());
}
private void pictureBox1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
this.OnClick(new EventArgs());
}
I solved this problem the following way. I wanted to changes the background images of the parent PictureBox when the child Label was clicked. I played around some and found I could call the event handler in the following way.
private void Label_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Label label = (Label)sender;
Box_Click(label.Parent, e);
}
private void Box_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
//
PictureBox box = sender as PictureBox;
//
if (isMine[int.Parse(box.Name)])
{
box.Image = Image.FromFile(#"..\..\images\BoxRedX.jpg");
MessageBox.Show("Game Over");
}
else
{
box.Image = Image.FromFile(#"..\..\images\BoxGray.jpg");
}
}
As you can see I grab the Child and using it to reference its parent and send it to the parents click event. This is the code I used to work in my project. The important method is the first on listed. The second is there for clarity to see how it passed and worked.
