I am trying to submit a form with the following code but it doesn't populate the fields in the bean:

It works perfect. Am I doing something wrong using h:commandButton?
I tried to change from actionListener to action since I had problems before with this, but it didn't work either way with h:commandButton.
By default, the f:ajax will only execute #this meaning it will only submit the action button, not any of the values of inputs in the form. Try this:
...
<f:ajax execute='#form' render='#form' />
...
See the execute section of the javadoc:

I am struggling in trying to send some information from a textfield to a bean-method and process the input there. My code looks like that:

I would like to send the input in the textfield to the method nearestneighborsAsJSON(String) of the bean TsneDAODB but i can't figure out how i access the content of the textfield and what attribute i have to use to send it away. The current code at least triggers the method with the given input through the action= attribute of the commandbutton (but without even pushing it). So where do i have to add the respective EL to submit the input and what would the correct EL syntax look like to access the casTextBox input?
You should link the input text box to a field contained into your bean then in your getNearestNeighborsAsJSON method you can access the value posted by your form. Remember that the bean should expose getter and setter for that field

Is it possible to reset the value of an inputText after clicking on the commandButton in JSF? The inputText UIElement provides the method ResetValue so I tried something like this:

Your mistake is here in the execute attribute:
<f:ajax event="mouseup" execute="#{inputTextMeasurement.resetValue()}" />
The execute attribute should represent a space separated collection of client IDs to include in the process/decode of the ajax request. However, you specified a listener method there.
You need the listener attribute instead:
<f:ajax listener="#{inputTextMeasurement.resetValue()}" />
(and I omitted event as it defaults here to click which is already the right one)
Interesting detail is that the other <f:ajax> in the same piece of code used the exeucte attribute the right way.
Unrelated to the concrete problem, have you looked at <p:resetInput>? This saves an ajax listener method in the bean. Replace the whole <f:ajax> with
<p:resetInput target="measurementadd" />
Why dont we just use
<input type="Reset"/>

So, I have a session scoped bean that has a 2 lists of string values. This bean is called AgreementBean.java. I'm showing these lists in a page called agreementDetail.xhtml like this

The "Save" bean method does nothing right now, except for logging the values stored in both lists.
When clicking on the button, 2 things are happening right now. If the customer changed the values on the inputFields, the bean's list's value is set to null. If the customer didn't change anything, then the bean's original value is kept.
How can I fix this? Thanks!
There are 2 problems with your command button:

immediate="true" causes that only input elements which also have immediate="true" set will be processed. However, your inputs don't have this attribute set.
<f:ajax execute> defaults to #this, causing that only the command button itself is processed during form submit. Your inputs are therefore skipped in processing.
Get rid of the misplaced attribute and tell <f:ajax> to execute the entire form.

Then there's a potential problem with your data model. You seem to be supplying a List<String> to the data table instead of a List<SomeBean>. The String is immutable and doesn't have a setter for the value. A <h:inputText value="#{string}"> is never going to work. For the first table, you really need to have a LicenseServer bean with a private String name property. You can then use it as follows:

Unrelated to the concrete problem, are you aware that onevent is invoked 3 times? For the purpose you'd probably like to check if ajax event status equals to "success".

Make sure your <h:outputText> is outside the form that contains the <a4j:commandLink> or else it will bind the value of the outputText with the actual value in the form, leading to odd behavior in your page.

If you must have the <h:outputText> inside the form, you should consider updating the value using the oncomplete tag attribute in the commandLink that executes JavaScript code.
In case you want to show a message to the user, you can use <h:messages> or <rich:messages> tag component, this will be a better option than using an outputText.

Take this scenario:
Enter 'X' value in first input
Submit it using the 'Submit' Button. (failed in validation)
Enter 'Y' into the same input.
Click the 'Clear' button.
Result: Inputs don't clear and value of first input returns to 'X'.
I would expect this scenario to clear the input values but it doesn't, instead, it restores 'X' which is the previously submitted value. It actually never really runs mrBean.getSomeValue() on the bean (Which would have returned null and clear the input field)
The problem is related to JSF not working well with required fields and immediate. I wonder if anyone managed to overcome this problem.

Your code example is oversimplified. The described problem symptoms will only occur when you have multiple required inputs. Add one more required input field to the example. Fill out only one of them. A validation error will occur for the empty one. Then enter something else in both and press clear. The valid input will indeed retain the previously submitted value.
This problem is described in detail in this question and this blog article. The solution boils down to collecting all to-be-cleared input components and calling EditableValueHolder#resetValue() on each of them. This can be done with a <f:actionListener> as shown in the blog article.
Another way in your particular case since you just want to clear out the entire form is to use a <h:button> which will basically just refresh the page. If your bean is request or view scoped then it will also be recreated with all properties set to default.

Are you sure clearAllValues is executed? Do you get any errors in the logs or console?
Try adding execute
