I have a seamle code, that include mediaPlayer of JavaFX!
I set mediaPlayer.setCycleCounts (MediaPlayer.INDEFINITE) and song repeat always!
But between repeat cycles I have some little stop, in 0.5 sec! How to do this cycle without stops?
private File mp3File;
private Media media;
private MediaPlayer mediaPlayer;
private MediaView mediaView;
public SoundEngine(String mediaFile) {
mp3File = new File(mediaFile);
try {
media = new Media(mp3File.toURI().toURL().toString());
} catch (MalformedURLException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
mediaPlayer = new MediaPlayer(media);
mediaView = new MediaView(mediaPlayer);
mediaPlayer.setCycleCount(MediaPlayer.INDEFINITE);
}
i think your sound file has silent part at the end or begining.
You can use mediaPlayer.setStartTime(Duration.millies(500)) to skip the silent part if it is at the begining of the file.

Warning: This is my first time using threads and my first time trying out an animation. Please bear with me.
I want to rotate an ImageView. I set up a thread for it:
public class ThreadAnimation extends Thread
{
private ImageView iv;
private RotateTransition rt;
public ThreadAnimation(ImageView iv)
{
this.iv = iv;
}
#Override
public void run()
{
while (true)
{
RotateTransition r = new RotateTransition();
r.setToAngle(360);
r.setCycleCount(1);
r.setDuration(Duration.millis(300));
r.setNode(iv);
r.play();
try
{
sleep(100);
} catch (InterruptedException e)
{
return;
}
}
}
}
I call this inside my controller class, upon pressing a Button.
animation.setOnAction(new EventHandler<ActionEvent>()
{
#Override
public void handle (ActionEvent abschicken)
{
ThreadAnimation thread = null; //ANIMATION PIZZA
if (thread == null)
{
thread = new ThreadAnimation(olivenview);
thread.start();
}
}
});
My ImageView olivenview will rotate just like I wanted it to. However it takes quite a long time until it seems to stop (I can see it because the button triggering it still looks triggered for a while) and when I go ahead to press it a second time afterwards, I get a nonstop error stream with a lot of null pointer exceptions. I am very clueless, can anyone help me out? Is this due to my Thread Setup or does the problem lie somewhere else (in code that I didn't post here)?
I believe you do not need threads for this. Notice the .play() method returns immediately and the animation will run in the background.
That being said, try this.
...
//Create your rotation
final RotateTransition r = new RotateTransition();
r.setToAngle(360);
r.setCycleCount(1);
r.setDuration(Duration.millis(300));
r.setNode(iv);
//When the button is pressed play the rotation. Try experimenting with .playFromStart() instead of .play()
button.setOnAction(new EventHandler<ActionEvent>() {
#Override
public void handle(ActionEvent action) {
r.play();
}
});
...
On an other note I recommend switching to java 8 so that you can use lambda expressions instead of the anonymous class!
I've attached the KeyDown event to a ListView in my Win 10 UWP app. I want to make VirtualKey.Enter have a special effect, but the event is not firing for this particular key. Neither does it for Space, Arrow up or down. This I guess because the listview already has defined a special behaviour for those keys.
I'd like to override some of those keys though, or at least trigger additional actions. Even attaching events to those key with modifiers (e.g. Shift+ArrowDown) would not work because the events still are not firing.
I read that for WPF that there is a PreviewKeyDown-event which one can attach to. I can't find that event for UWP though. Are there any other options?
Stephanie's answer is a good one and it works in the general case. However, as Nilzor observed it will not work in the case of a ListView for the Enter key. For some reason the ListView handles the KeyDown event in case Enter is pressed.
A better way to handle key events when dealing with a ListView, as the question asks, is this.
private void ListView_Loaded(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
{
(sender as ListView).AddHandler(UIElement.KeyDownEvent, new KeyEventHandler(ListView_KeyDown), true);
}
private void ListView_KeyDown(object sender, KeyRoutedEventArgs args)
{
if (args.Key == Windows.System.VirtualKey.Enter)
{
}
}
Notice the last argument in the AddHandler function. This specifies whether we want to handle events already handled by a previous element in the visual tree.
Of course don't forget to unsubscribe from the event when appropriate
Here is one way to do it : subscribe to the global Window.Current.CoreWindow.KeyDown event.
Then save the focus state of your listview and react accordingly.
Here is the code :
public sealed partial class MainPage : Page
{
bool hasFocus = false;
public MainPage()
{
this.InitializeComponent();
Window.Current.CoreWindow.KeyDown += CoreWindow_KeyDown;
}
private void CoreWindow_KeyDown(Windows.UI.Core.CoreWindow sender, Windows.UI.Core.KeyEventArgs args)
{
if(hasFocus)
{
Debug.Write("Key down on list");
}
}
private void myList_GotFocus(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
{
hasFocus = true;
}
private void myList_LostFocus(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
{
hasFocus = false;
}
You will also need to subscribe to the focus events in xaml, for your ListView :
<ListView .... GotFocus="myList_GotFocus" LostFocus="myList_LostFocus"/>
Corcus's solution doesn't work for me. What is working is handling PreviewKeyDown directly from XAML. Works well for SPACE or ENTER key:
XAML:
<ListView PreviewKeyDown="BookmarksListView_PreviewKeyDown">
Code behind:
private void BookmarksListView_PreviewKeyDown(object sender, KeyRoutedEventArgs e)
{
if (e.Key == Windows.System.VirtualKey.Enter)
{
// DO YOUR STUFF...
e.Handled = true;
}
}
You can use AddHandler method.
private void KeyEnterEventHandler(object sender, KeyRoutedEventArgs e)
{
if (e.OriginalKey == Windows.System.VirtualKey.Enter)
{
PlayFromListView();
}
}
private void LoadListView()
{
foreach (var music in playListStorageFile.PlayList)
{
ListViewItem item = new ListViewItem();
item.AddHandler(FrameworkElement.KeyDownEvent, new KeyEventHandler(KeyEnterEventHandler), true);
TextBlock mytext = new TextBlock();
mytext.Text = music.Nro.ToString() + " - " + music.Name;
mytext.Tag = music.Nro;
item.Content = mytext;
lvMusics.Items.Add(item);
}
}

my web application offers a download. Javascript creats at the click the url (it depends on the user input) and the browser should open it, so that the page isn't reloaded.
For that, I think I have to alternatives:
// Alt1:
window.open(pathToFile);
// Alt2:
var downloadFrame = document.getElementById('downloads');
if (downloadFrame === null) {
downloadFrame = document.createElement('iframe');
downloadFrame.id = 'downloads';
downloadFrame.style.display = 'none';
document.body.appendChild(downloadFrame);
}
downloadFrame.src = pathToFile;
Both works under Firefox. Problem with open new window method: If the creation of the file at the server needs more time, the new empty tab will be closed late.
Problem with iframe: If there is an error at the server, no feedback is given.
I think at firefox the iframe is the better solution. But the web application must run with an JavaFX WebView, too. JavaFX haven't a download feature, I have to write it. One possible way is to listen on the location property:
final WebView webView = new WebView();
webView.getEngine().locationProperty().addListener(new ChangeListener<String>() {
#Override public void changed(ObservableValue<? extends String> observableValue, String oldLoc, String newLoc) {
if (newLoc.cotains("/download")) {
FileChooser chooser = new FileChooser();
chooser.setTitle("Save " + newLoc);
File saveFile = chooser.showSaveDialog(webView.getEngine().getScene().getWindow());
if (saveFile != null) {
BufferedInputStream is = null;
BufferedOutputStream os = null;
try {
is = new BufferedInputStream(new URL(newLoc).openStream());
os = new BufferedOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(saveFile));
while ((readBytes = is.read()) != -1) {
os.write(b);
}
} finally {
try { if (is != null) is.close(); } catch (IOException e) {}
try { if (os != null) os.close(); } catch (IOException e) {}
}
}
}
}
}
There are some problems:
The download start depends on a part of the url, because JafaFX supports no access to the http headers (that is bearable)
If the user starts the download with the same url two times, only the first download works (the change event only fires, if the url is new). I can crate unique urls (with #1, #2 and so on at the end). But this is ugly.
Only the "window.open(pathToFile);" method works. Loading an iframe don't fire the change location event of the website. That is expectable but I haven't found the right Listener.
Can someone help me to solve 2. or 3.?
Thank you!
PS: Sorry for my bad english.
edit:
For 2. I found a way. I don't know if it is a good one, if it is performant, if the new webview is deleted or is in the cache after download, ....
And the user don't get an feedback, when some a problem is raised:
webView.getEngine().setCreatePopupHandler(new Callback<PopupFeatures, WebEngine>() {
#Override public WebEngine call(PopupFeatures config) {
final WebView downloader = new WebView();
downloader.getEngine().locationProperty().addListener(/* The Listener from above */);
return downloader.getEngine();
}
}
I think you may just need to use copyURLtoFile to get the file...call that when the location changes or just call that using a registered java class. Something like this:
org.apache.commons.io.FileUtils.copyURLToFile(new URL(newLoc), new File(System.getProperty("user.home")+filename));
Using copyURLToFile the current page doesn't have to serve the file. I think registering the class is probably the easiest way to go... something like this:
PHP Code:
Download $filename
Java (in-line class in your javafx class/window... in this case my javafx window is inside of a jframe):
public class JavaApp {
JFrame cloudFrameREF;
JavaApp(JFrame cloudFrameREF)
{
this.cloudFrameREF = cloudFrameREF;
}
public void getfile(String filename) {
String newLoc = "http://your_web_site.com/send_file.php?filename=" + filename;
org.apache.commons.io.FileUtils.copyURLToFile(new URL(newLoc), new File(System.getProperty("user.home")+filename));
}
}
This part would go in the main javafx class:
Platform.runLater(new Runnable() {
#Override
public void run() {
browser2 = new WebView();
webEngine = browser2.getEngine();
appREF = new JavaApp(cloudFrame);
webEngine.getLoadWorker().stateProperty().addListener(
new ChangeListener<State>() {
#Override public void changed(ObservableValue ov, State oldState, State newState) {
if (newState == Worker.State.SUCCEEDED) {
JSObject win
= (JSObject) webEngine.executeScript("window");
// this next line registers the JavaApp class with the page... you can then call it from javascript using "app.method_name".
win.setMember("app", appREF);
}
}
});
You may not need the frame reference... I was hacking some of my own code to test this out and the ref was useful for other things...
I have problem restart sound in J2ME. I want to create player in constructor, then call playExplosion() to play it, but it only plays once. I'm using Wireless Toolkit.
Sound class
public class Sound () {
private Player playerExplosion;
public Sound() throws IOException, MediaException {
// Explosion
InputStream is = getClass().getResourceAsStream("/explosion.mid");
playerExplosion = Manager.createPlayer(is, "audio/midi");
playerExplosion.realize();
playerExplosion.setLoopCount(1);
}
public void playExplosion() {
try {
System.out.println(playerExplosion.getState());
playerExplosion.start();
} catch (MediaException ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
}
}
}
MyMIDlet class
public class MyMIDlet extends MIDlet() {
public Sound sound;
public MyMIDlet() {
// Init sound object
try {
sound = new Sound(this);
} catch (Exception ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
}
// Test
System.out.println("Start");
for (int i = 0; i < 5; i++) {
sound.playExplosion();
// My sound is less than 1 second.
try {
Thread.sleep(2000);
} catch (InterruptedException ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
}
}
System.out.println("End");
}
}
Output
Start
200
300
300
300
300
End
For the 1st time, playerExplosion state before start() is 200 (REALIZED).
For the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th times, playerExplosion state before start() is 300 (PREFETCH).
At the moment, I have to create playerExplosion again in playExplosion() method, but it's too slow in a real device.
Try after removing
playerExplosion.setLoopCount(1);
Realizing a Player can be a resource and time consuming process havint to create playerExplosion would mean calling playerExplosion.realize(); again that is why the process takes so much time
When your player is in PREFETCHED State what you need to do is just call playerExplosion.start(); but its not paying again because there is a general limitation on the number of times its should pay
Remove
playerExplosion.setLoopCount(1);
And you would be able to pay your file several times
Thanks

I am using silverlight 4 with smf and I want to create a play , pause toggle button. So if the media is playing and if the button is clicked it will pause the video. But if the media is paused, it will restart playing video.
How can I do that
private void btnPlay_MouseLeftButtonUp(object sender, System.Windows.Input.MouseButtonEventArgs e)
{
}
I don't know anything about silverlight, but you could use a boolean.
private void btnPlay_MouseLeftButtonUp(object sender, System.Windows.Input.MouseButtonEventArgs e)
{
if(isPlaying)
{
music.pause();
isPlaying = FALSE;
return;
}
music.play();
isPlaying = TRUE;
return;
}
