Unable to connect to azure from a specific server - azure

I have an Azure service bus queue which can't connect to my queue. On my pc it works fine, On our dev server it also works fine. We have deployed it on our test box and We are getting this error when trying to receive messages from the queue:
Microsoft.ServiceBus.Messaging.MessagingCommunicationException: Could
not connect to net.tcp://jeportal.servicebus.windows.net:9354/. The
connection attempt lasted for a time span of 00:00:14.9062482. TCP
error code 10060: A connection attempt failed because the connected
party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established
connection failed because connected host has failed to respond
168.62.48.238:9354. ---> System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException: Could not connect to
net.tcp://jeportal.servicebus.windows.net:9354/. The connection
attempt lasted for a time span of 00:00:14.9062482. TCP error code
10060: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did
not properly respond after a period of time, or established
connection failed because connected host has failed to respond
168.62.48.238:9354. ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly
respond after a period of time, or established connection failed
because connected host has failed to respond
168.62.48.238:9354
We have disabled the firewall and it still doesn't work, any suggestions on troubleshooting ?

If this is related to firewall setting that you may want to try to set the connectivity mode to Http. More details at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsazure/microsoft.servicebus.connectivitysettings.mode.aspx
and:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsazure/microsoft.servicebus.connectivitymode.aspx

Try to increase the timeouts on your bindings to 1 minute and add your server application as an exception in Windows Firewall manually.

So this ended up being a simple issue of ou network firewall being restricted. We had told our SA's to open the ports up for 9354 goinging to the sb. They said they did open them... but they didn't. I walked throght it with them and we discovered it wasn't open

Difference between linux network connection errors

I've been coding a port scanner in Rust, and for detecting open ports what I do is create a TcpStream and try to connect to different ports on a given host to see if it allows the connection.
The problem I'm having is that when the connection fails, the OS (Linux) returns one of three codes:
101 - It is displayed if network is unreachable.
111 - It is displayed if connection is refused.
113 - It is displayed if there is no route to host.
And I've been looking for in-depth explanations of each error and what causes them, but I just find the same text over and over again.
Network unreachable → most likely explanation is that your computer is not connected to any network (Wi-Fi down, ethernet unplugged, …)
Connection refused means that you were able to reach the target computer, but that it refused the connection → no application is listening on the requested port on the other computer, or the firewall blocked the connection.
No route to host means that you were unable to reach the target computer. Either it is off, or there is a problem somewhere in the network between your computer and the target.

How to fix oracle TNS - Connection timed out error when connecting to database remotely?

I am trying to connect to oracle database hosted on Linux server remotely from my windows machine and getting error ORA-12170: TNS: Connect Timeout. I've already checked the following:
listener.ora configuration and it's status.
tnsnames.ora naming parameters.
firewall is listening on the IP and the default port 1521
If there is no firewall between the client and the target database then you should not normally need to adjust the timeout. You can try adjusting the sqlnet parameters mentioned in the error message: *Action: If the error occurred because of a slow network or system,
// reconfigure one or all of the parameters SQLNET.INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT,
// SQLNET.SEND_TIMEOUT, SQLNET.RECV_TIMEOUT in sqlnet.ora to larger values.
- -
However, I think you should ask your network team to trace your connection attempt especially if after increasing the timeout you still get the error. The full Oracle version in use and the platforms (client and target) may be important.

SQL Server 2016 cannot connect remotely

I am using the "test.udl" to test the connect.
When I use the IP which is from the router, it can connection test is succeeded.
Then I try to use the real IP for testing connect, it got fall.
The router has set as below:
Archer C2>forwarding>Virtual Server:
Service Port=1433,1434,49172
Ip address=192.168.0.100(Permanent)
And I have closed the firewall in windows.
The Sql server configuration manager setting:
TCP IP Properties>IP Address>
IP1:
Active:yes
Enabled:yes
IP Address:119.246.x.x
TCP Dynamic ports:0
TCP port:null(unset)
IP2:
Active:yes
Enabled:yes
IP Address:192.168.0.100
TCP Dynamic ports:0
TCP port:null(unset)
test.udl test information:
Fail test
server name:119.246.x.x\server
Use Windows NT integrated security
result:
Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider.
[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
succeed test
server name:192.168.0.100server
Use Windows NT integrated security
result:
Test connection succeeded.
Does anyone know where i got wrong?
It is a bug.
SYMPTOMS
When you try to connect to a clustered Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or Microsoft SQL Server 2000 named instance by using the "servername\instancename" syntax, you receive the following error message:
[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
You may receive this error message when the following conditions are true:
SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server 2000 is installed on a cluster.
You are connecting to a SQL Server named instance by using TCP/IP sockets.
IPSec policy is enabled on the client domain.
IPSec policy is not enabled on the server domain.
CAUSE
This problem occurs during the discovery phase of the connection. The IPSec policy on the client drops packets from the server when the source IP changes.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, you have to hardcode the TCP port or the Named Pipe of the SQL Server named instance. To do this, use a connection string that is similar to one of the following:
[oledb]
; Hardcoded TCP OLE DB initstring
Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Integrated Security=SSPI;Persist Security >Info=False;User ID=clientID;Data Source=tcp:TcpIpAddress,port
[oledb]
; Hardcoded Named Pipes OLE DB initstring
Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Integrated Security=SSPI;Persist Security >Info=False;User ID=clientID;Data Source=np:\ServerName\pipe\MSSQL$InstanceName\sql\query

Hope it helped
I have solved it. It may cause of the default port is not 1433.
I checked the log file viewer(SQL server Management studio>SQL Server Agent>Error logs>current(archive is also work))
only tick on the sql server check box
find "server is listening on[ 127.0.0.1 xxxx].
In my case it is 9662/9663
I add them all in my router and succeed to connect.
Thank you all above.

CoucbDB Ubuntu 14 Azure Socket Connection Timeout error

I have couchdb running on a Linux Ubuntu 14.04 VM and a .net Web application running under Azure Web Apps. Under our ELMAH logging for the web application I keep getting intermittent errors:
System.Net.Sockets.SocketException
A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond [ipaddress]:5984
I've checked the CouchDB logs and there isn't a record of those requests so I don't believe it's hitting the CouchDB server, I can confirm this by looking at the web server logs on Azure and see the Error 500 response. I've also tried a tcpdump however with little success (another issue logging tcpdump to a separate disk keeps failing due to access denied)
We've previously ran CouchDB on a Windows VM with no issues so I wonder if the issue relates to the OS connection settings for tcp and timeouts
Anyone have any suggestions as to where to look or what immediately jumps to mind?

Azure a connection attempt failed

I've a sitecore azure deployment 2.0. Unfortunately, when I try to run this from company network I get the error below:
A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not
properly respond after a period of time, or established connection
failed because connected host has failed to respond 213.199.180.206:80
When I try below on the same machine it works:
http://www.google.com
https://www.google.com
Wondering what exactly is causing the above issue given both 443 and 80 works well via IE.
Thanks.
Definitely sounds like a corporate firewall/gateway problem. Have written a blog post with my experiences of just these types of issues. http://reservoirdevs.wordpress.com/2013/10/18/sitecore-azure-walkthrough-and-gotchas/
My solution was to try from outside the corporate network. It then worked fine.
This sounds like your firewall on your Azure machine is not set to allow incoming http traffic on port 80. Although there could be a lot of other reasons for this timeout.
