I am having difficulty in deploying my forst lightswitch desktop application.
when i try to publish, in the summary window it says
Database: Donot Publish
and the install.htm file is cofusing to me.
Can someone help me with a step by step tutorial.
I will be grateful.
I have installed Microsoft SQL server 2008.
The process of deploying a LightSwitch-based application differs depending on the application type and deployment scenario that you select. You have said that your lightswitch application is a desktop application. So, the possible deployment scenarios are:
Desktop client 2-tier
Desktop client, 3-tier

You should try to get the exception info/stack trace from the server process (vslshost.exe) to get more information about the error when retrieving or saving data. If your app tries to load data when opening, change it so that there is no default screen. This will prevent the app from opening a screen when loading the app and trying to load data, allowing you enough time after opening the app to attach a debugger. You can follow my blog post at http://blogs.msdn.com/b/mthalman/archive/2013/08/16/how-to-get-a-stack-trace-in-lightswitch.aspx for info on how to get the exception info.

I am using the jsreport nuget packages in an asp.net core application. I am able to generate my pdf reports on my local machine however I run into an issue when I try to generate reports with the asp.net core application running in IIS. Whenever I attempt to run a report, it ultimately times out and gives me the following error:
Error rendering report: instance has been daemonized and initialized successfully (pid: 2480)A critical error occurred while trying to execute the render command: Timeout Error: pdf generation not completed after 40000ms
Some information about my setup:
The app is being hosed in IIS on a Server2008R2 machine
The IIS app is running under the Network Authority user.
I have given the application pool full permissions on the jsreport
folder deployed with the ASP.Net Core application.
I have give the application pool full permissions on the jsreport
folder in C:\Windows\Temp
Here is what I have been able to verify so far:
I can navigate to the jsreport folder in the deployed asp.net core
application, run jsreport start from the command line and enter
jsreport studio. From there I can run my reports with sample data
sizes comparable to what I would expect at runtime, and they export
to PDF just fine.
I can successfully make a request to the IIS hosted asp.net core application to render a plain HTML report.
The reports run just fine when being hosted on my local machine, outside of IIS.
It seems like there is some kind of issue with IIS accessing Chrome and doing the pdf conversion. Are there any additional steps I need to take to get chrome-pdf conversion working when hosting with IIS?
We are planning to start our new project in node.js but I want to be clear on the deployment side. Previously we have some applications written in asp.net. We deploy our applications as websites so when some page changes we deploy only that page on the web server and we don't need to restart the website or server. This type of deployment where we can deploy a particular page reduces our risk of letting those changes go on the production which we don't want to release as opposed to the mvc where you have to deploy the dll.
So my question is that can we do that kind of deployment on our node.js production site where I can deploy only one changed file lets say 'abc.js' and I don't need to restart the server and the connected users to my site shouldn't experience any issue or disconnection as in the case with .net mvc where user's session is ended.
Sorry if this seems too basic but I need to know.
Thanks
I have a .net core application deployed to IIS. There is a signalr hub in the application.
My problem is that when my client hits the hub it receives a 500 error back.
I have put logging in the hub and can see that it is being hit correctly and no exceptions are being thrown.
The setup works perfectly when run from Visual Studio.
I am thinking something might not be set up in IIS correctly.
Does anyone have any ideas that this might be?
I enabled the generic error page in the api and looking at the network tab in the browser I was able to see the call that signalr was making.
I looked at the content of this request and found that an error with the following message was being returned by the server...
The data protection operation was unsuccessful
After some searching I found that this was being caused due to a setting on the IIS application pool.
The steps to change the setting were...
Open IIS Manager
Select Applications Pools, and go ahead and select the App Pool used by your app
Right-click on it, and select Advanced Settings, Go to the Process Model Section and Find the “Load User Profile” Option and set it to True
These steps were taken from http://puresourcecode.com/dotnet/post/ASPNET-The-data-protection-operation-was-unsuccessful
I have wordpress installed and running in an Microsoft Azure WebApp. When I created the WebApp, the system automatically created Application Insights, which I tried to enable, but unlike on my other WebApps, the server side tracking wasn't working and I couldn't fix it, so I tried to delete it and added a new Application Insights resource...
Unfortunately I can't figure out, how to get it running, sice now I dont have a "deploy" button, to make it work, nor do I have Visual Studio - which every guide recommends to use and is a bit annoying.
What I need to do is install somehow the system monitor for App Insights in my App but can't find out how. (without VS)
Any help appreciated. Thanks
EDIT (SOLVED) :: Justins comment is the solution to this problem.
use the application insights plugin for WordPress. It will set up all of the necessary things to get the server side tracking.

Please help me find out why I'm getting this error.
I am not able to add web user control inside the web part. If I right click on the web part project it does not show up the web user control template.
I then copy some other web user control inside my web part project and made necessary changes to he web user control . Then I build the project but got below error. Please suggest as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance
