I'm really new to Joomla, and i develop (actually i just copy the files and duplicate the database) from a working main site and build new site, after i edit the original content. Everything looks fine but, links and menus of new site's gives error or No input file specified, if i add manually on address bar '/index.php/' between site url and page url then it works, i don't know what went wrong, and this is '.htaccess' file on root 'http://paristokyo.biz/trouvay-cauvin.co.uk'

Change the Directory Indexes to the index.php
Disable both Search Engine Friendly URLs and URL rewriting options on Global Configuration. This will solve the problem.
Firstly, ensure mod_rewrite is enabled, then:
Rename htaccess.txt to .htaccess
Open the file and find the line that has “# RewriteBase /”
Remove the # sign to uncomment
Upload the .htaccess file
Enable SEF again in Global Configuration
Refresh browser and check to see if it is working.
Also try the following:
Bellow RewriteEngine on put
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/index\.php/
RewriteRule ^index.php/(.*) /$1 [R=301,L]

I have a bunch of 404 links, close to 500 resulting from a link looking like:
http://www.domain.com/component/k2/item/192-file-sharing-options-to-consider.html
The link needs to be shown as follows, except the ID 192 and portion after is an ALIAS for a blog item.
http://www.domain.com/component/k2/item/file-sharing-options-to-consider.html
We essentially need to remove the '192-' from the link, and have this happen to all blog links (the number can be anything from 1, 2, or 3 digits)

Somehow it doesnt work. My webhost already edited his httpd.conf with

I just installed Joomla 1.5 and as I am currently working on the website I put up a new index.html containing under construction template and in .htaccess I added a line
DirectoryIndex index.html
Now I am able to access the under construction site.but opening the administrator says error 404.However if I remove the line DirectoryIndex index.html and save it again then it works..
