No bullseyes in OpenCms8 - "Service implementation URL not specified" - opencms

In one of my test servers, I have a somehow corrupted OpenCms installation: after logging in, the ADE bar is empty and I cannot edit anything:
I don't get any kind of error or warning in the logs.
After some research, I found that in comparison to sane installations, this corrupt one is rendering a Service implementation URL not specified message in one of the divs that usually contains this bullseye (only relevant html shown):
<body class="GMQ4TUIBKGB GMQ4TUIBFO">
+<div id="window">
+<iframe id="editprovider" src="javascript:''" style="position: absolute; width: 0px; height: 0px; border: medium none;" tabindex="-1">
<div style="display: none;"></div>
-<div class="GMQ4TUIBLEB">
-<div class="GMQ4TUIBJEB" style="visibility: hidden;">
<div class="GMQ4TUIBEBB"></div>
-<div class="GMQ4TUIBABB">
<span class="GMQ4TUIBPAB"></span>
<br>
<span class="GMQ4TUIBCBB GMQ4TUIBN1 GMQ4TUIBE2">Service implementation URL not specified</span>
</div>
</div>
+<div class="GMQ4TUIBMEB">
</div>
</body>
Rendered with firebug:
How can I fix this?
Envirnoment notes:
OpenCms 8.04 (self-compiled from official sources)
Tomcat 6.0.35
I copied our operative OpenCms DB, that uses OCEE and configured it to not use any of the OCEE components for my testing environment. During this config phase, I'm afraid I have broken something.
Our production DB is quite big (some 100 GB), and would like to avoid re-cloning it and installing OpenCms from scratch to solve this problem.

I have solved the problem (re)installing the org.opencms.ade.editprovider module:
Apparently I had a version mismatch between my OpenCms 8.04 and the "inherited" OpenCms modules from the operative version. (In this case, org.opencms.ade.editprovider 8.0.4 matches OpenCms 8.0.4.)

Why my RTL can't find my svg with a img role? [duplicate]

I am trying to getByRole where I have an <li />, which is a child of a styled component.
The styled component is by default display: none, then under a min-width media query it's set to display: flex.
Running getByRole('listitem') works without the display: none but not with it, indicating that styled-components is telling the DOM that because it is set to display: none it doesn't exist.
This is despite the debug HTML output actually showing the <li /> being rendered:
TestingLibraryElementError: Unable to find an accessible element with the role "listitem"
Here are the accessible roles:
document:
Name "":
<body />
--------------------------------------------------
<body>
<div>
<div>
<ul
class="sc-gzVnrw sc-VigVT kjwzNy"
>
<li><!-- bunch of stuff --></li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
</body>
I have tried mocking the media query matching using jest-matchmedia-mock, with no luck.
I don't care about testing the media query or styles at all, so is there a way I can tell styled components to not apply the styles during testing?
I found a kind of solution which is a feature of dom-testing-library:
getByRole('listitem', { hidden: true })
This includes hidden items.
There is a commit detailing this change here: https://github.com/testing-library/dom-testing-library/pull/352/files/7cdfcfa466774ca78940330fe95d00c9e744b673

FontAwesome with JS Kit ::before pseudoclass not working?

I can't get the icon to show up and I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
SASS:
p.wp-caption-text::before
font-family: "Font Awesome 5 Free"
font-weight: 900
content: "\f030"
I've tried Font Awesome Regular/ Solid as well as different font-weights or different icons.
This is a camera icon, that is part of the Free icons.
The kit JS file (Created 3 days ago) is loading, as is the min.css
This is confirmed because icons that are in the HTML as
<i class="fab fa-instagram fa-lg"></i>
are showing up fine.
Edit: Confirmed bug which no doubt will be fixed soon, AND
you need to add data-search-pseudo-elements for pseudo-elements to work
<script data-search-pseudo-elements defer src="https://kit.fontawesome.com/xxxxxxxxxxx.js"></script>

adding 'share this' to the bottom of orchard CMS blog posts

Any advice on how / or where I can include the 'share this' script so I can include social sharing buttons at the bottom of my Orchard CMS blog posts. Ideally I would not use the gallery or any installer, simply just the classic implementation -- which I have done before, but I am not sure in which file I can add my script in Orchard's MVC architecture.
Use Shape Tracing, to identify the different templates that build up a Blog Post. Some of those templates are shared throughout the app, so learn also about Alternates.
Look at ~/Common/Views/Parts.Common.Metadata.cshtml
To override this view, you should copy it to your Themes Views folder, and modify as you wish.
If you wish to modify this template only for blog post, name your new file Parts.Common.Metadata-BlogPost.cshtml in the themes views folder. This is an Alternate and BlogPost tell Orchard to use this template only with content types that are BlogPosts.
I've been using a very simple HTML widget to do that on my own blog, since sharing is essentially a client-side thing, and it was by far the simplest option. Here's the HTML I use in that widget:
<p>
<img src="/media/foo/Icons/squaretwitter.svg" style="width: 20px; height: 20px;" alt="Tweet this" title="Tweet this" />
<img src="/media/foo/Icons/squarefacebook.svg" style="width: 20px; height: 20px;" alt="Share this on Facebook" title="Share this on Facebook" />
<img src="/media/foo/Icons/squaregoogleplus.svg" style="width: 20px; height: 20px;" alt="Share this on Google+" title="Share this on Google+" />
<img src="/media/foo/Icons/squarereddit.svg" style="width: 20px; height: 20px;" alt="Share this on Reddit" title="Share this on Reddit" />
</p>
Notice that I'm not using a sharing script, but am using static links instead, because I want to keep the page as lean and fast-loading as possible and I think those scripts are a significant burden for little benefit. You can however if you prefer put script into an HTML widget, and it would totally work.
There are also a few ready-to-use modules on the gallery for that sort of thing, that would enable you to just add a part to the blog content type and be done with it.

HTTP Error 500 using CE_Image

I've recently moved my working site to a staging environment, and now, some channels display an internal server error (500) while others work flawlessly. Nothing appears to have changed.
Is there some setting I've missed or might this have to do with a different PHP version on the staging server? Something else?
Edit 9/21:
I think I've narrowed it down to a CE_Image issue...it occurs on every template using CE_Image
Here's an example of some template code that, if removed, causes the errors to go away:
{cf_home_slideshow limit="5"}
<li data-slide="slide_{row_count}" style="background-image: url({exp:ce_img:pair allow_scale_larger="yes" src="{cf_image}" max_width="956" max_height="429" create_tag="no" crop="yes"}{made}{/exp:ce_img:pair})">
<img src="{exp:ce_img:pair allow_scale_larger="yes" src="{cf_image}" max_width="956" max_height="429" create_tag="no" crop="yes"}{made}{/exp:ce_img:pair}" width="956" height="429" />
<div class="slide">
{if cf_link}
<div class="view_project">
View Project <img src="/assets/imgs/arrow_btn.png">
</div>
{/if}
</div>
</li>
{/cf_home_slideshow}
D'oh! Resolved.
GD Library wasn't installed. When I installed it, all was well!

Dreamweaver CS6 Error?

I have a page in DW that has a black background. In Design View of the page the page shows as white instead of black. I am not sure why this is. I can add inline styles to the entire page as follows to get the page black:
<body>
<div style="background-color:#000" class="wrap_fullwidth">
<div style="background-color:#000" class="center">
<div style="background-color:#000" class="img-center">
<img src="image.jpg" alt="Image" />
</div>
<p style="background-color:#000"> </p>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</body>
Here is the CSS for the page and the way it normally is:
html, body{
font-size:16px;
font-family:"Lucida Grande", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;
line-height:23px;
color:#f3f3f3;
background:#000;
}
.wrap_fullwidth {width:100%; position:relative; float:left;
clear:both; padding-top:20px; }
.center{width:940px; position:relative; margin:0 auto;
clear:both; padding:0px 10px; display:block;}
p{ margin-bottom:20px; text-align:justify;}
.img-center{ text-align: center; }
The design view should show the page as it appears with css etc. I do not understand why the white is showing when the css clearly shows black as a background. The good thing is the page in the browser shows correctly but this makes things a pain if I work in Design View. (Which I do use)
Ideas or thoughts as to how to fix this?
Note: CS5 and CS5.5 did not have this behavior. Only CS6.
It turned out that my Reset for the CSS was causing DW to show a transparent background (thus white) instead of black.
The reset contained this property: background:transparent;
Once I removed that from the reset all worked fine.
Update: I had wondered if the way DW CS6 was reading the CSS if there was a bug or not, after filing a bug report I received this reply:
I was able to reproduce as per your steps and have logged a backlog item for the same. It will be fixed in future release.
