I recently had to replace the hard drive in my computer and re-install Paint.net. I installed the latest version 3.5. When I copied my collection of plugin dll files (including outline Object) the Object option does not show up in the Effects menu. Any advice is appreciated.
Jerry
That's strange.
Have you checked 'Stylize' menu?
If it is not there, please re-install Paint.net, do not copy your plugins, download current release of this plugin from paint.net forum and check again.

FIXED IN AS 2.2.1
After update Android Studio to the 2.2 I've got this problem. It's hard to use such format with a small 13-inch display.
In Project view and Android view I get folders name as full packages name but I want to see just names of the directories:
I tried to search for this problem, but I only find "Compact empty middle packages" which impact only for a top level folder.
"Flatten packages" option creates tons of the directories, for every package making everything even worse:
One more screenshot:
In the Package/ Project or Androidview etc, Go to the gear icon on the right side and uncheck Flatten Packages and Compact Empty Middle Packages. This should show you the break down by directory instead of flattening it.
Note: This has now been fixed in Android Studio 2.2.1
AOSP - Issue Tracker:
Project structure view is showing full package names for sub packages when data binding is enabled.
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=222914
Check this configuration if Flatten Packages is not your desired solution:
Hope it will help
I have a trouble to add a package under one of the flavor folder in Android Studio: after I right click on the java folder and I could not see the 'Package' or 'Java Classes' options there!
I did exactly the same for another flavor and it was fine.. Now I am stuck here, without knowing if it is a bug in AS or I did anything there. Anyone help me please!
(I googled it and did not solve it with what I have found so far)
=======EDIT========
I close the project and create a brand new empty project, now even in the main folder I cannot find the 'Java Classes' or 'Package' when I right click on the java folder I added.
However, if I just create the folders of the package under java with a class there, and do a build, it will finally recognize that and make java blue color and then I am able to see the menus if I right click the blue java folder.
So it sounds like some bug in AS.
It might just be the build flavor you are currently selected correctly to enable that flavor.
If we have two build flavor let's say free and pro. If pro is selected is current build flavor. The flavor free will not be shown as java package in blue color as you mentioned, it will be shown as directory structure. Hence change the build variant and make it workable.
Not sure if you faced the same issue, but sharing it for reference of others who might face this issue as i faced now.
Package option is available only for selected flavor. switch to desired flavor and IDE will refer that source directory and will convert it to package and directories from other flavors will be listed as normal directories tree structure.
I found this Solution.
File > Project Structure > Select the lib folder > Click on Sources > Apply and Okay
Now you can see the new package option by right clicking the lib folder, the new package option will be shown.
Step1
Step2
Step3
Control click (mac), or right click the /java directory and select Mark Directory As -> Source Root. You should then be able to right click the /java directory and select -> New -> Package. Your java directory will also appear blue.
Solution. File- Project Structure- Modules- Right click on lib - Select Sources.
then the option "Package" will appear on your list.
I really love the TortoiseSvn diff software. I can download them standalone as a zip, but I really love when iI can select two files and then right click and from context menu click on "diff in tortoise". Is there any way I can install just this tool? I don't want the whole SVN suite.

Here is standalone TortoiseMerge: http://tortoisesvn.net/TortoiseMerge.html
You can't, sorry. Yes, you can!
According to this forum thread (from June, 2011, so pretty much over three years old), written by Stefan Küng, an author of TortoiseSVN, starting from version 1.7 of TSVN, TortoiseMerge does not ship as standalone.
You can go to Tools folder on TortoiseSVN's site at SF and get TortoiseDiff-1.6.7.zip file from there. It still quite outdated (see above notice), but certainly it is a standalone version of TortoiseMerge.
I needed something similar (just a standalone app to make diff files) and was able to copy the following out of the Tortoise install directory (C:\Program Files\TortoiseSVN\bin\) to make TortoiseMerge work on its own (similar to the accepted answer's suggestion). Maybe extract them from the full installer if you don't have it installed already?
TortoiseMerge.exe
libsvn_tsvn.dll
libapr_tsvn.dll
libaprutil_tsvn.dll
vcruntime140.dll
intl3_tsvn.dll
libsasl.dll
mfc140u.dll
msvcp140.dll
As far as the context-menu entry:
How add context menu item to Windows Explorer for folders and probably needing multiple "%" placeholders (e.g. myprogrampath\path\path\executable.exe %1 %2)
https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-any-application-to-the-desktop-right-click-menu-in-vista/
Instead of context menu items, a good workaround is to put it in the SendTo folder
Okay, the lack of color on VS2012 is gross.
Is there someplace I can get a theme pack or something for it so that it actually looks reasonable? I really liked the look of VS2010. However, the new one reminds me way too much of 1984.
While we are at it, is there anyway to have it stop shouting at me? ALL CAPS menus are pretty hard to read. [ note: caps was resolved, thanks Konamiman]
Yes, luckily you can revert the Visual Studio 2012 ALL CAPS menus to normal menus by hacking the registry:
Launch regedit and navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\11.0\General
Create a DWORD value named SuppressUppercaseConversion with value 1.
NOTE: As explained in the answer pointed by Yahoo Serious, the VisualStudio part on the registry key name should be changed to VSWinExpress for Visual Studio Express, and to VWDExpress for Visual Studio Express for Web.
UPDATE:
I have applied this hack in another machine and at first it did not work. It turned out that I had selected the key name from this response by double clicking it, then copied it, then pasted it in regedit. Well, by doing so I had inadvertently created the key with a trailing space in the name! And hence it did not work.
So, if you apply this hack and it seems to not work, ensure that there are no trailing spaces in the key name.
New Theme editor Specifically for 2012:
http://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/366ad100-0003-4c9a-81a8-337d4e7ace05
Comes w/ VS 2010 style blue and a few others...
Here is a shot of my VS2012 install that almost looks like the familiar 2010 we are all used to. It makes me feel normal again!
Here is exactly how I did this, step-by-step:
1) Close all instances of Visual Studio
2) Download vsip and extract it to a temp directory. (as of 1/3/2013 the current version is 1.5.2)
3) Open up a command prompt with "Run as administrator"
4) Go to the temp directory and run VSIP.exe - This will run an interactive program that accepts commands.
4a) Type "backup --version=2012" - This will backup all of your VS2012 UI dlls, just in case something gets messed up and you want to uninstall VSIP.
4b) Type "extract" - This will extract all of the old icons from your installation of VS2010 (per VS2010 license VSIP can not distribute those icons so we have to have a local install to pull them from).
4c) Type "inject" - This will inject all of the old 2010 icons from the previous step into the VS2012 DLLs.
4d) Type "menus -n" - This will change the menus so they are NOT ALL CAPITALIZED!
5) Download and install NiceVS - do not download the one dated 10/14 or you will be missing icons. As of 1/3/2013 I downloaded the file named "NiceVS.0.8.1.1 Beta.Full.vsix".
6) Download and install VS2012 Color Theme Editor - The next time you start VS2012 select the "Blue" theme from the color select window.
Now you should have a nice install of VS2012 that looks like my screen shot above! It takes three different applications to patch that hideous UI but it's certainly workable now! If you don't have VS2010 installed on the same machine as VS2012 then you will have to run 4b on a machine with VS2010 and then copy the VSIP Images directory to your 2012 development machine.
Update: If you install "VS 2012 Update 1" after running these steps you will need to re-run step 4c from the VSIP admin prompt (or all of step 4 if you didn't keep the extract of the VS2010 images). The file menu icons and color scheme stay as they are but the update reverts the icons in the solution explorer back to the ugly ones. Re-running the VSIP inject fixes it right up!
I feel your pain, and have been checking daily for a solution. I've now discovered this site, which includes a theme editor, as well as drumroll a VS2010 theme for VS2012!
http://bchavez.bitarmory.com/archive/2012/08/27/modify-visual-studio-2012-dark-and-light-themes.aspx
Edit - I just noticed that Brian Chavez already posted the same link as me. However, I don't think it included a premade 2010 theme until today.
Edit 2 - Another theme editor - http://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/366ad100-0003-4c9a-81a8-337d4e7ace05

The themes for 2010 work for 2012 as well
This extension was just released a couple of days ago:
Visual Studio 2012 Color Theme Editor
If you want to change the VS shell environment themes in Visual Studio 2012, try this utility:
Modify Visual Studio 2012 Dark (and Light) Themes

The quick option to look is VSColorOutput extension for VS2012. Just look at Tools->Extensions and NUGet package will help you to locate it asap.
Another option would be downloading and Visual Studio Color Schemes. http://studiostyles.info/ . Here is a link to Scott Gu's blog which describes how to apply your preferred schema.
Using MonoTouch 4.0.4.1 and MonoDevelop 2.6b3
Our Default.png file is marked as "Content"
When we build the app, the resulting .app file when viewed using "Show Contents" in finder does not contain the Default.png.
The png is 320x480 32 bit
In previous versions the Default.png was being added correctly.
Has something changed?
There is a bug in the MonoDevelop beta releases that will not copy the content in root over to output. You can either use a post-build command to copy (and then resign!!!) the content or you can use the stable version of MonoDevelop (2.4.x)
Make sure you also set the "Copy to output directory" to "Copy if newer".
Ok guys, I guess i found a workaround, please give this a try
Im running MD 2.6RC1, in order to your content files are being included in the
final bundle, delete them from your project, then save your project close MD,
then reopen MD and add again your content files to your project, don't forget
to mark them as content ;)
this worked for me.
UPDATE:
This bug has been resolved, Just update to MonoDevelop 2.6 RC2
