I'm a new user and yesterday had a basic master/detail app working correctly, using a table view with dynamic cells. But after a bit of editing the link between the Xcode storyboard and MonoDevelop seems partially broken. I am making changes in the style of the table view cells (e.g. adding or removing accessories, changing the style from 'Basic' to 'Left Detail'), but none of these changes have any affect when I run the code. More importantly when I run the app the cells are static, not dynamic content as shown in Xcode.
I have checked the content of the storyboard in XML format in MonoDevelop and that is changing as expected.
Not everything in the connection is broken, e.g. if I add a button to the navigation bar this is showing up correctly when I run the app.
Help please!
After more experimentation (and having to rebuild my storyboard from scratch) I believe I have found a bug in MonoDevelop. It's reproducible like this:
Take a simple working app (I used the 'tasky' sample) and open the storyboard.
In Xcode, delete the table view cell from the Root View Controller Table View.
Think "oops, I didn't want to delete that" so close Xcode without saving (I used the red 'LED' button for this) - this appears to be a bug in Xcode not MonoDevelop, in that there isn't a prompt to ask if I want to save before closing.
Open the storybaord again from the MonoDevelop solution view - the table view cell is still deleted - surely it shouldn't be because Xcode wasn't saved.
Now try to add the cell again, exactly as it was before. Even though it looks perfectly correct in Xcode, with a correct segue and marked as a prototype cell, it will not work correctly when the code is run.
Furthermore, if you add some code so that a basic cell is returned by GetCell (because DequeueReusableCell won't return a cell now) the format of the cell in the detail view is just stuck - changing its style to 'Right Detail' etc has no effect in the app when it is run, although it looks perfectly OK in XCode.
Now, I know it's all too easy for new users to think they have found bugs in code when in fact it's just being misused in some way. So it would be good if someone else could check my findings before I report this to Apple and/or Xamarin. If I'm correct it's a serious bug because the only solution I have found, if you don't have source-code control of some kind, is to rebuild your storyboard from scratch.
Thanks

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this but this issue is driving me insane....
The Issue:
I have come to use my PC after the weekend and for some reason the layout of the VBA Project stuff is completely messed up...
Usually when my VBA is set up very nicely in what I believe is the standard viewing mode IE the Project box to the left and the code to right and the intermediate window at the bottom...
For some reason now I get the following:
As you can see it is just the code...
I then click on the project explorer window and the project details appear, but as one ridiculously large page....
Then I minimise the window and alter its shape to try and get it at least look like it used to...
I can live with this to an extent although everything is floating and annoying... But now, every time I click onto a module (to view the code). It opens each module as its own seperate window!
This as you can imagine is unsustainable when working with as lot of code and having to flick between different modules
What I have Tried:
I have tried looking in different settings and I can not see anything different...
I have restarted my PC and it is still the same...
I have tired opening a different spreadsheet and still the same....
Does anyone have any suggestions? I just want it to be back to the simple layout of everything joined together etc...
I'm currently using Xamarin Studio and have a comfortable enough setup so that I can put my various pads (output, unit tests, solution tree, etc.) on different screens. I like it and I'd like it to stay the same wether I'm debugging, running tests or coding.
But right now, xamarin studio handles it himself and switches to the Debug view layout when debugging, which changes everything to their default (since I've never really changed it).
Is it possible to tell Xamarin Studio to either :
- Never switch layouts?
- Set which layout is used for each situation (and I would just use my custom layout)
I've tried deleting all layouts and XS just recreates them. No dice here.
I've tried switching to my layout when debugging, hoping it would remember "this is my debug layout now". No chance either.
And I'm hoping I won't have to change each separate layout, because first it'll take a stupid amount of time, and also because if I ever decide to make a change, i'd have to set it up over 5 different view layouts which is just ridiculous.
Note : I'm using the latest version of Xamarin of the stable channel.
So, does anyone know a way to keep one single layout for all situations?
Unfortunately, no, it is not possible with the current version of Xamarin Studio.
I read through both the preferences as well as the documentation. I even tried to create my own custom layout by navigating to "View" -> "Save Current Layout". Then I selected my new custom layout when I started a debugging session, hoping it would persist to the next one. But alas, the "Debug" view was chosen automatically.
This would probably be something you could bring forth as a suggestion of improvement to the Xamarin team. You can do so using their bugzilla.
I can't figure out how to copy a single view, or whole table row (basically no type of view).
When I right click any of the views in the figure below, there is copy option. But I never get the paste option. Keyboard Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V does not work either.
I googled for a while, but nothing seems to answer my problem. The closest related post I found is this.
So is this Copy/Paste bug spread over most of the GUI designer of AS, or what am I doing wrong ?
Android Studio 2.2.2. # Ubuntu 14.04
We can always copy/paste in text mode. Seems like that is only solution left for now. And works fine..
This might be a bug with Android Studio.

I hold CTRL key then click the view which I want to copy then release.
I found that in https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=228677

I have been working on a project in excel for a while and am having problems deploying it to my client. We have (exactly) the same version of excel but when he opens the file the sizing of the components is all wrong. Please see the screenshots below:
When he turns on design mode or clicks and holds the vertical scroll bar, the issue corrects itself for the most part:
But when compared to the original there are still issues, such as the "Rental Start" and "Rental End" labels.
I should also mention that this problem is not isolated to this project. We had some issues with a different one, as well, but never made the connection between design mode and couldn't figure it out. I have tried my IntegralHeight property per a forum post somewhere, as well as double checking that my components are not set to size with cells. Does anyone know why this might be occurring? He has windows 8.1 and I have 7, if that could be the difference.
Note: All controls are ActiveX controls.
Has anyone seen this. Ive done this before and its not been a problem, but now I am trying to drag and drop and it keep showing the files location in a link... ?
In Visual Studio, I have seen this happen when you drag a UserControl onto the Source view of an ASP.Net .aspx page. Be sure you are dragging the UserControl onto the Design surface.
Edit: This fellow was able to solve his problem by reinstalling Visual Studio. Not a happy thought, but if you're using a recently-installed version, it might be worth a try.
