<p:fileUpload fileUploadListener="#{editBean.relatedFileEditUpload}"
style="width:370px;"
rendered="#{editBean.uploadFileRender}"
process="relatedFileUploadingEditForm:relatedFileType"
update="relatedFileUploadingEditForm:messages relatedFileUploadingEditForm:relatedFileType">
</p:fileUpload>
The above is the code snippet that I am using. But it is not showing the browse option up on clicking the upload button.Please Help.
You have to set mode and value attributes. So try let's say mode="simple" and value="#{editBean.yourFile}" (org.primefaces.model.UploadedFile)

I have the following problem I have a CommandButton of primefaces that does well its function which is to save an accounting movement, but when you try to enter a second movement the button does not work to such an extent that it does not warn you if the required fields are empty.
Note that if I give the cancel button that only has a JS to hide and show some labels there is if the button works again.
I need that button to continue working without having to hit the cancel button.
I'm going to leave a partial code that includes the TAG of the form and the buttons warn if you need to also put the fields.
<h:form id="form_agregar_movimiento" prependId="false" >
...
<p:commandButton styleClass="Tamano-Texto-Datos Boton-Afirmativo"
value="Agregar"
action="#{movimientosController.agregarNuevoMovimiento()}"
update=":growl_mensaje_eventos :dataTable_listar_movimientos form_agregar_movimiento"
/>
<p:commandButton styleClass="Tamano-Texto-Boton Boton-Negativo"
value="Cancelar"
onclick="js_ocultar('agregar_movimiento_contenedor'); js_mostrar('movimiento_contenedor_botonAgregarMovimiento');"/>
</h:form>

Hi guys, I have solved the problem, I noticed that other forms presented the same problem and testing by ending with #form as recommended and the "prependId = true" and additional add the attribute resetValues="true" and with And the buttons come back to work without problems.
Note: in the example that this function did not work for me but it was for something else, I had a RequestContext.getCurrentInstance().Execute() which calls a JavaScript and it was giving me an error in the browser, I corrected it and works correctly.
Thanks for the tips that have left me
I am using prime faces file upload feature in my application form, whenever i upload the file it is not displaying the preview image in screen.
I would like to know which attribute and class to refer for this issue. please find the sample code below.
<fileUpload
id="uploadImage"
fileLimit="1"
fileUploadListener="#{publicSarFormDataBean.handleFileUpload}"
process="#form"
mode="advanced"
multiple="false"
auto="true"
onstart="PF('statusDialog').show()"
oncomplete="PF('statusDialog').hide(), PF('documentListTbl').filter()"
dragDropSupport="true"
sizeLimit="1000000000"
allowTypes="/(\.|\/)(png|jpeg|JPEG|jpg|JPG)$/"
invalidFileMessage="File is invalid"
update="messages"
styleClass="Fleft FontBold">
</p:fileUpload>
The 'preview' is only relevant before uploading. And since you have auto="true" the files are automatically uploaded and a preview in the p:fileUpload is useless.
It is all working fine in the PrimeFaces upload showcase
In the examples and showcase, fileUploadListener is always used in advance mode. I try to use it in simple mode but the uploadListener aren't called.
Is it valid?
<p:fileUpload multiple="true" fileUploadListener="#{formBean.handleFileUpload}" mode="simple"/>
Note: I already set ajax "false" and form enctype "multipart/form-data".
Kukeltje and Jaqen H'ghar are right. The answer is NO for Primefaces 5.2.
I'm working with JSF and PrimeFaces, and I can't handle the following situation:
I have a dialog, and I placed a dataTable on it. In one of the cells of the table I would like to display given data in 3 different ways, and I'd like to switch between them. So far I managed to switch between these rendering types via commandLink, but my problem is that when I click on one of the 3 links, the dialog closes! Can I update the content of the dialog, and be able to keep it open the same time? (I'm updating which render type to use via myMethod)
my commandLink looks like this:
<p:commandLink id="id" update=":myForm:myDialog" ajax="false"
action="#{myBean.myMethod}" oncomplete="dialog.show()">
If i don't use the ajax=false attribute, the method is not called, and I also tried imediate=true, but that's not it either.
You need to define an p:outputPanel inside your dialog and update the outputpanel, not the dialog itself (that's why your dialog closes):
<p:dialog id="myDialog" ...>
<p:outputPanel id="myOutputPanel">
... your dialog content goes here
</p>
</p:dialog>
and change your commandlink
<p:commandLink id="id" update=":myForm:myDialog:myOutputPanel" ajax="true"
action="#{myBean.myMethod}" oncomplete="dialog.show()">
Regarding the oncomplete="dialog.show()" - I'm not entirely sure if you need that. A precise answer can be given if you provide more code regarding your table and code.
I had the same problem, and solution is to update a form instead of dialog. For example:
<p:dialog id="id_dialog" ...>
<h:form id="id_form">
... content
</h>
</p:dialog>
and commandLink:
<p:commandLink update=":id_form" process="#all" ...>
This worked for me!
I writed an ajax request for any data. But the data don't work with h:inputHidden.
I think it's a bug of Primefaces.
But I don't know how to get the data now.
code:
<h:inputHidden id="buttonData" value="#{buttonDataBean.buttonData}" />
...
<p:commandButton id="getData" action="#{buttonAction.getButtonData}" update="buttonData" />
When I click the commandButton, the value of don't work.
But if I use the h:outputText, it worked.
My requirement:
Before click the commandButton, I have create any html buttons dynamically. I want to click the commandButton and update the name and position of html buttons. So that I must get any data and update the html buttons with Javascript.
how could I do about it?
If I want to use the JavaScript to get the ajax data, how to do it. I see the document and find two method: jsf.ajax.request() and Primefaces.ajax.AjaxRequest(). But I don't know how to use the two method. for example: Primefaces.ajax.AjaxRequest("test.xhtml",,). The "test.xhtml" how to request the method testMethod of TestAction?
use firebug to inspect html code. you can see new value
<h:form id="form">
<h:inputHidden id="buttonData" value="#{buttonDataBean.buttonData}" />
<p:commandButton id="getData" value="button"
action="#{buttonDataBean.buttonAction}" update="buttonData" />
</h:form>
If your problem does not get solved with primefaces ajax, you can use the native ajax provided by jsf have a look at it.It works, i have done many such things with it.
Instead of using a hidden input you could take advantage of JSF and use a f:param or f:attribute.
