I need to set a limit for the Date in Visual C++. For example, the date ranging from May 2010 to May 2012. Can anybody help me to find a solution for this.
Why this post is down voted. Now I am not able to ask questions. Please help me to activate my account.
Thanks in advance
That's not how programming works. You don't create or customize a date object (what are you using, anyway? time_t?) for every need.
You get the date, you check what the user entered, and you either accept or reject it (in which case you would prompt the user to correct their input). It's called validation.

I need to use the "repeat options" subform in the mail file in an application that tracks our implementations.
I have looked at the code behind this in the mail file, but it is way too complex for my needs, as I just want the whole logic on how to get the various dates/times I need to create a document for. I have seen some calls to a method, generateRepeatDatesExt(), but I did a search and couldn't find any trace of it.
Anyone knows where that thing is hidden? Or better, anyone has a sample app that creates repeating dates that use the repeat options found in the mail file?
Any help, pointers, samples are welcomed!!!
Thanks a lot...
I found a really nice demo application that does exactly what I need, and it was done by Julian Robichaux a while back. Details and sample file can be found here: http://www.nsftools.com/tips/NotesTips.htm#repeatdates
I've created an instance of Azure Search and I'm trying to make use of the suggesters functionality but struggling to find any useful information on how to get started (poor and out of date documentation from Microsoft).
I would like to use a suggestion on the name field below.
The issue is that fields require unique names and I'm unable to edit existing fields. I'm a little unsure of how the suggester tab differs from basic.
Does anyone have any advice on how best to add suggesters to my index? I am all for deleting the index and starting again if I've missed something critical.
I'm really sorry you're disappointed by the documentation. We take it very seriously and will make sure to address your feedback. Feel free to make suggestions.
On the screen you provided, you should specify a name for the suggester. Once you do that, checkboxes will show up next to your field names. Using the check boxes you will enable the Suggestions API on selected fields.
Use the name of the suggester as a value for the suggesterName parameter when using the Suggestions API : https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/dn798936.aspx
Please find more details in this article about suggestions in Azure Search. It describes a sample application with code attached.
Hope that helps.
I have a list of reports in our business and what i want to do is send out a survey to every user asking them a set of questions per report. For each report we want to ask the following questions:
Do you use the report? Y/N
How often do you use it? Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly/Annually
Is this report sent out externally? Y/N
So do you think this is possible using a Sharepoint Survey? A point in the right direction would be good.
Thanks
Following a long investigation i concluded that SharePoint was not the solution i required and instead used SurveyMonkey which covered my requirement perfectly.
I inherited an very old application that I am in the process of updating it (I know, we should have rewrote it in VS 2008, but we purchased a company, which is how I was stuck with the relic). Using UpdateData(TRUE) to retrieve the changes made in the dialog controls, nothing is being updated. I have an edit control, with an integer variable, and an edit control with a string variable, assigned using the class wizard. Upon pressing the OK button, the UpdateData(TRUE) is executed to retrieve the new values from the disalog.
I seem to remember having a similar problem back when VS C++ 6.0 first came out, but have not used it since VS 2003 and C# became prevalent.
Thanks for any help in advance!

Check the DoDataExchange() method. It should have the logic for writing data to or reading it from the controls. If the programmers used the default implementastion, then there will be a DDX_... macro for each control that is being read/written. Just look at any other MFC dialogs (in your code or google) to see how the DDX commands should be written if they are missing.
Alternatively, if it's only 1 or 2 values you can easily just get the control and read it directly if you don't mind doing validation etc yourself. Get the ID of the control from the form designer and use something along the lines of:
CEditWnd *pWnd = GetDlgItem(ID_THECONTROL);
CString newValue = pWnd->GetWindowText();
...
You'll need to look at the content of the DoDataExchange method and see what it is doing. There is not sufficient information here to tell what could be going wrong other than that.
I have a link in one column and, based on it, I want
Number of Google searches in column 2
Page rank of first result in column 3
I know this can be done, as I saw a friend pulling google search result right in Excel. If anyone knows, please share how I could do that.
If I correctly interpret your question, one of the tasks you had to do is
How do I get programmatically the Google page rank for a list of URLs?
You can find the code to do this in this CodeProject article:
Request Google´s Pagerank programmatically
Regarding the Excel part: it depends which programming framework or platforms you could use. You could use to create a .NET extension for Excel using the Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Office.
From Excel there is Data->Get External Data->New Web Query. Is this what you want?
You have two options, both of which are unfortunately poorly documented.
If you are comfortable in C/C++, you can write a special DLL called an "XLL" that you can call during Excel runtime. There is some sparse documentation available. Note that this stuff isn't very fun to use.
If you prefer .NET, there is a binding for the entire Office suite outlined here that allows you to write COM-based methods that you can call from Office. It is intended for automation, but you can write any managed code you want and have Excel call into it.
There is also what Remou just suggested; I don't actually own a copy of Excel to test that out, but it may be the easiest option.
By link i meant keywords and not URL. I want to put a keyword in one cell and pull number of searches and page rank in adjacent cells.
I tried doing the same with web query in excel but i can only reach till the number of searches. that too not in the proper cell (trying to figure out). But i have no clue about how to get the pageranks.
I am not that tech savvy to code a binder or plugin for myself. Although i am checking the link by splattne. Please focus more light on it. Is it gonna be time consuming if i try to make this one..?

There are some nice plugins for this (in various languages) on GitHub:

I have a PR checker functions in my Excel plugin "SeoTools".
