I'm looking to get check-in data that includes user ID, place and time information, from Foursquare users that have public accounts. What is the best way to do this that doesn't require each user's authentication? Thanks.
I'm afraid that's just not possible using the API. In order to access checkin information a user must authenticate with your app.
If you don't need specific users, you can search Twitter for Foursquare checkins published there and then scrape the linked checkin pages for the user ID, place and time information.

I need to build a app with some specific details, and since I never worked with Instagram I have no idea if is possible or not, and also the information that I find on the docs doesn't say much, so hope someone had the same experience.
So basically I need to track some analytic information, for example in my App, for someone to register it needs to login in Instagram and than must follow my Instagram page, I believe this is possible, but then I need to track some information from the users and that is:
Check if the user is hashtaging my company page (to check which users made more shares or something);
Check which users had more engagement;
Can someone tell me if this is possible to track on Instagram API?
The new Instagram graph API is very limited, you cannot make to app and allow user to follow, you cannot access other user posts to check if they hashtagged or engaged.
All you can do is, access only your posts (if business account), and you can access your post's comments. You can also get last 24hrs of an hashtag, but no user info is given.
I am trying to access Instagram feeds for my user and hence I have created a Access Token as per documentation

I am able to access my feeds by passing access token over

However, I would like to fetch other user's feed (read only). So I want to make user as configurable and when I change user, I get respective user's feeds.
Could you please let me know if I have to use different end points?
I have tried

But it is not working and resulting in page not found.

If you don't plan to have more than 10 users you can use Sandbox mode. Access token is connected for given Instagram account, not to your entire app. So other users needs to "log in" to your app and approve access to their personal data. Once they do that you receive access token for their Instagram user and you can use /self/media/recent endpoint.
However if you plan to have more than 10 users you need to submit your app for review.
Out of curiosity and because I couldn't find any information on this in the API policies: Does foursquare allow using the venue database to rebuild the check in feature with another social network?
Say someone builds MyCoolSocialNetwork and wants to provide a check in feature that does not require his users to sign up for foursquare user accounts. Would it be OK to build an app where users would check in at venues taken from the foursquare venue database, but using their MyCoolSocialNetwork account? Obviously those MyCoolSocialNetwork check ins would only be visible inside MyCoolSocialNetwork, but not on foursquare (and vice versa). Technically, MyCoolSocialNetwork would have a check in database of its own that would be independent of foursquare's.
Technically this doesn't seem like a violation of the API terms, but I would strongly discourage this for these reasons:
You will need to attribute Foursquare in any search results or link to our venue pages when you're using Foursquare data (which you will be). This creates a strong link between Foursquare and your app & the venues you're using.
It will then be extremely confusing from a UX standpoint if you're offering your users to check in, but these check-ins aren't reflected on Foursquare itself.
I think you're better off authenticating your users through Foursquare and letting them check in on Foursquare itself—all the hard work is already done for you! We also recently released native auth libraries for iOS and Android to make this process easier.
I am working on an iphone app which uses instagram API..and I would like to know the following things..Is it possible to get data from instagram without user logging?If so, what type of data would be retrieved from it?Is it possible to access data of a specified user?Or is it only possible using social networking sites like facebook,tumblr etc?

Yes, with a valid client id, you can fetch user information for a specific user id. Information available includes name, bio, website, and profile picture. You can also return multiple users' data using the search endpoint.

NOTE: by providing a client id instead of a valid user token, you are counting against your own application's 5000 calls per-hour limit. If you plan on having a large user page, you would need to authenticate each user to avoid this limit.
I plan to use Foursquare Venues to help users fill up a form about the location of the event that they would be creating on our website.
However, sometimes the event location is not present or unaccurate in the foursquare's database. In this scenario we are planning to ask user to manually enter the event location information which would we would save in our own database.
Next time a user enters a location, we would give them suggestions by combining the results from our database and Foursquares.
The question I have is: is this allowed and accepted by the Foursquare api usage policy? Thanks.

Yes, it is allowed. See foursquare Policies page for more information.
They do not allow merging of data from their database and google, but they allow you to extend with data of your own.
That link contains all the different usage policies information, not just for the venues database, but generally if you have a more specific question you should just ask them directly (link for their support page)
