How to add a Calculated field to AllContentType? - sharepoint

Today, I'm having a problem is after I had created a Calculated field. It seems there is no way to add AllContentTypes. And the DefaultView, maybe I can handle this. And I also saw this method:
spList.Fields.AddFieldAsXml(spFieldUser.SchemaXml, True, SPAddFieldOptions.AddToAllContentTypes);
But in this case, I'm not sure I can use it or not. Because my code is:
//SPField tempSPField = spList.Fields.CreateNewField(createSPColumnObject.ColumnType, createSPColumnObject.ColumnName);//We can not use this code line for creating Calculated (there is no constructor for this)
SPFieldCollection collFields = spList.Fields;
string strSPFieldCalculatedName = collFields.Add(createSPColumnObject.ColumnName, SPFieldType.Calculated, false);
if (createSPColumnObject.IsAddedToDefaultView)
{
SPView spView = spList.DefaultView;
spView.ViewFields.Add(strSPFieldCalculatedName);
spView.Update();
}
SPFieldCalculated spFieldCalculated = null;
//
spFieldCalculated = (SPFieldCalculated)collFields[createSPColumnObject.ColumnName];
spFieldCalculated.ShowInDisplayForm = true;
//spFieldCalculated.ShowInEditForm = true;
spFieldCalculated.ShowInListSettings = true;
//spFieldCalculated.ShowInNewForm = true;
spFieldCalculated.ShowInViewForms = true;
//
spFieldCalculated.Description = createSPColumnObject.ColumnDescription;
spFieldCalculated.Formula = string.Format(#"={0}",createSPColumnObject.CalcFormula);
spFieldCalculated.Update();
//spList.Fields.AddFieldAsXml(spFieldCalculated.SchemaXml, createSPColumnObject.IsAddedToDefaultView, SPAddFieldOptions.AddToAllContentTypes);// also use this code line because we will get an exception with a duplicate column ID.
spFieldCalculated.OutputType = SPFieldType.Text;
spList.Update();
I totally created a Calculated column but how can I add it to allcontent types ? everybody could help me out this ? BTW, to the DefaultView, I did like the above is right ? Could eveybody let me know this ?
I just worry about everybody get misunderstanding ? Or review with missing code. So could everybody please to take a look on my code clearly ? Thanks all.
Many thanks, :)

I'm not sure if i fully understand what you are trying to do however i may be able to shed some light on some parts of what you are trying to do.
When you create your field does it then appear in your site actions -> site settings -> Site columns. If so you have created this correctly. If it doesn't there are hundreds of examples of how to do this if you search google.
Once you have your field create you then need to consider which content types you want to add it to. Once you have these content types you then have to add something called a field link to the Content type.
This isn't my code i have picked it off the web but this should do what you require.
SPContentType ct = web.ContentTypes[contentType];
ct.FieldLinks.Add(new SPFieldLink(field));
ct.Update();

How does one access an Extension to a table in Acumatica Business Logic

Apologies if this question has been answered elsewhere, I have had trouble finding any resources on this.
The scenario is this. I have created a custom field in the Tax Preferences screen called Usrapikey.
This value holds an api key for a call that gets done in some custom business logic.
The custom business logic however occurs on the Taxes screen.
So within the event handler I need to access that API key value from the other screen. I have tried instantiating graphs and using linq and bql but to no avail.
below is what I have currently and my error is: No overload for method 'GetExtension' takes 1 arguments
If I am going about this the wrong way please let me know if there is a more civilized way to do this
protected virtual void _(Events.FieldUpdated<TaxRev, TaxRev.startDate> e)
{
var setup = PXGraph.CreateInstance<TXSetupMaint>();
var TXSetupEX = setup.GetExtension<PX.Objects.TX.TXSetupExt>(setup);
var rateObj = GetValues(e.Row.TaxID, TXSetupEX.Usrapikey);
decimal rate;
var tryRate = (Decimal.TryParse(rateObj.rate.combined_rate, out rate));
row.TaxRate = (decimal)rate * (decimal)100;
row.TaxBucketID = 1;
}
Many Thanks!
Well, acumatica support got back. It seems if you want to access the base page use:
TXSetup txsetup = PXSetup<TXSetup>.Select(Base);
To get the extension use:
TXSetupExt rowExt = PXCache<TXSetup>.GetExtension<TXSetupExt>(txsetup);
Then you can access the extension fields like so:
var foo = rowExt.Usrfield;

Is there a way to change the text of checked/unchecked MCheckBox states?

How would I go about changing the default MCheckBox state text (currently I/0) to, for example, YES/NO or ON/OFF?
Mr. Daniel Kurka is the author for all the widget classes in MGWT. If the look & feel is not
fulfilling our requirement, We can edit those classes and rewrite them according to our requirement.Because they are open source. I done this on many classes like CellList,FormListEntry and MCheckBox. code for ON/OFF instead of I/O
public MyOwnCheckBox(CheckBoxCss css) {
this.css = css;
css.ensureInjected();
setElement(DOM.createDiv());
addStyleName(css.checkBox());
onDiv = DOM.createDiv();
onDiv.setClassName(css.on());
onDiv.setInnerText("ON");
getElement().appendChild(onDiv);
middleDiv = DOM.createDiv();
middleDiv.setClassName(css.middle());
Element middleContent = DOM.createDiv();
middleContent.setClassName(css.content());
middleDiv.appendChild(middleContent);
getElement().appendChild(middleDiv);
offDiv = DOM.createDiv();
offDiv.setClassName(css.off());
offDiv.setInnerText("OFF");
getElement().appendChild(offDiv);
addTouchHandler(new TouchHandlerImplementation());
setValue(true, false);
}
Write a new class like MyOwnCheckBox.just copy the code in MCheckBox and paste in your class MyOwnCheckBox, find and replace the MCheckBox with MyOwnCheckBox in the code(change constructor's name). do the following changes.
onDiv.setInnerText("ON");
offDiv.setInnerText("OFF");
and finally create object to MyOwnCheckBox rather MCheckBox, it'll shows MCheckBox with ON/OFF.
Right now there is no way to do that, but there is no real reasons that checkbox does not implement HasText other than we might need to update the css so that big text will not break the layout.
If you think mgwt should implement this go and vote for this issue: http://code.google.com/p/mgwt/issues/detail?id=171
Well, an easy way to accomplish the same thing, without creating a new class that mimics MCheckBox, is to do something like the code below:
CheckBoxCss css = MGWTStyle.getTheme().getMGWTClientBundle().getCheckBoxCss();
String offClass = css.off();
String onClass = css.on();
NodeList<Node> checkBoxElems;
mIsSingleSkuBox = new MCheckBox(css);
checkBoxElems = mIsSingleSkuBox.getElement().getChildNodes();
for( int i = 0; i < checkBoxElems.getLength(); i++ )
{
Element openElem = (Element) checkBoxElems.getItem(i);
String className = openElem.getClassName();
if( className.equals( offClass))
{
openElem.setInnerText("No" );
}
else if( className.equals( onClass))
{
openElem.setInnerText("Yes" );
}
}
It will probably have space problems with anything longer than 3 characters, but it works consistently with "Yes" and "No" for me.

Sharepoint 2010 - make Title, Description and Keyword fields as required fields in Picture Library using server-object-model

I'm creating a Sharepoint feature, this feature has an event receiver associated to it. In the event receiver, I'm creating a Document Library and Picture Library using server-side object model. I'm also adding new custom columns (around 80) to these newly created document and picture library. Now I want to modify the properties of the Description, Keywords and Title fields that are by default created along with the picture library. I want to make these fields as Required fields. How do I do this? I tried to set SPList.AllowContentTypes = true and try to change the attributes of these fields, but it doesn't work (neither gives an error nor makes these required fields). I also tried to access the content types and try to change the attributes using SPContentType.FieldsLinks["Column_name"].Required and SPContentType.Fields["Column_name"].Required but it gives me an error. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Here is the answer....
SPContentType ct = mypiclib.ContentTypes["Picture"];
SPFieldLinks titleLink = ct.FieldLinks["Title"];
SPFieldLinks descLink = ct.FieldLinks["comments"]; //internal name of Description
SPFieldLinks keywords = ct.FieldLinks["keywords"];
titlelink.Required = true;
descLink.Required = true;
keywords.Required = true;
ct.Update();
can you tell us the error you got when trying to use the fieldlinks? Because this should work... I have done it like this:
SPContentType ct = web.Lists["*ListName*"].ContentTypes["*ContentTypeName*"];
SPFieldLinkCollection flinks = ct.FieldLinks;
flinks["*ColumnName*"].Required = true;
ct.update();
This should do the trick:
SPWeb yourWeb = ... //assign your web
SPList yourPictureLibrary = ... //assign your picture library
web.AllowUnsafeUpdates = true;
yourPictureLibrary.Fields[SPBuiltInFieldId.Title].Required = true;
yourPictureLibrary.Fields[SPBuiltInFieldId.Description].Required = true;
yourPictureLibrary.Fields[SPBuiltInFieldId.Keywords].Required = true;
yourPictureLibrary.Update();
SPAllowContentTypes isn't settable. You might try setting ContentTypesEnabled instead.
I don't have a 2010 box to test against, but if SPAllowContentTypes returns false I think you're looking at modifying the definition of your picture library in the 14 hive (TEMPLATE\FEATURES\PictureLibrary\PicLib) to get what you're after. Tread lightly there.

How do I get the results of a view and store them in a php var?

I have a custom view that I set up in drupal. What I would like to do is make a function call of some kind, and then assign the results to a php variable. I would like the contents of the view (as opposed to the results of a view export) in this new variable. Is this feasible? If it is a function call, I would appreciate a small example too. Thanks!
I haven't done too much hacking around in views, but it looks like maybe views_embed_view() might be what you are looking for. I found a good overview of the views API here: http://www.trellon.com/content/blog/view-views-api
You can get the view object with function views_get_view($view_name).
If what you mean by contents of the view is the view object itself you'll need simply:
$view = views_get_view('name_of_the_view');
However, if you mean the data returned by your view you'll need a little bit more.
$results = views_get_view_result('name_of_the_view', 'display_id');
At last, if you wish to have more control you can try another approach, creating the view object and working on it afterwards.
//variables for your view, display and resulting array
$my_view_name = 'yourview';
$my_display_name = 'yourdisplay';
$my_arguments = array();
//Creating the view object and configuring it
$view = views_get_view($my_view_name);
if ($my_arguments){
$view->set_arguments($my_arguments);
}
$view->get_total_rows = True;
$view->set_items_per_page(0);
$view->build($my_display_name);
$view->execute($my_display_name);
//now you have your data array
$view_results_array = $view->result;

CKEditor dialogs: referencing input fields by ID

Each input field in the CKEditor dialogs are renamed with a unique number, but the number changes depending on what options are visible.
I need to reference 'txtUrl' which has an id something like #35_textInput.
So far I have discovered that something like this should work:
alert(CKEDITOR.instances.myElement.document.$.body.getId('txtUrl'));
But it doesn't. Please help.
#Rio, your solution was really close! This was the final solution:
var dialog = CKEDITOR.dialog.getCurrent();
dialog.setValueof('info','txtUrl',"http://google.com");
return false;
var dialog = this.getDialog();
var elem = dialog.getContentElement('info','txtUrl');
within an onchange part of an element I now use
dialog = this.getDialog();
alert(dialog.getContentElement('info', 'grootte').getInputElement().$.id);
and it gives 'cke_117_select' as a result. (It's a selectbox)
alert(dialog.getContentElement('info', 'txtUrl').getInputElement().$.id);
gives 'cke_107_textInput'.
I think this is what you (or other visitors to this page) are looking for.
SetValueOf still doesn't provide the id, which you may need if you want to do more than fill a text field with a certain text.
