I've found a lot of helpful information about installing Symfony 1.4 on a shared hosting plan, but I've run into a stumbling block that's confounded me all day.
Going to http://www.alternium.net/jobeet/index.php returns a 404 instead of the file at http://www.alternium.net/jobeet/web/index.php.
/jobeet/.htaccess:
Options +FollowSymLinks +ExecCGI
# Enable rewrite engine and route requests to framework
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/robots.txt
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /jobeet/web/robots.txt [L]
# resources
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/images/ [OR]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/js/ [OR]

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/css/
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /jobeet/web/$1 [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/jobeet/web/

RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /jobeet/web/index.php/$1 [QSA,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} frontend_dev.php
RewriteRule ^$ /jobeet/web/$1 [QSA,L]
/jobeet/web/.htaccess:
Options +FollowSymLinks +ExecCGI
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
# uncomment the following line, if you are having trouble
# getting no_script_name to work
#RewriteBase /
# we skip all files with .something
#RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} \..+$

#RewriteRule .* - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} \..+$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !\.html$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !\.php
#RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !\.php
RewriteRule .* - [L]
# we check if the .html version is here (caching)
RewriteRule ^$ index.html [QSA]
RewriteRule ^([^.]+)$ $1.html [QSA]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
# no, so we redirect to our front web controller
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php [QSA,L]
</IfModule>
Can anyone with a better understanding than I of Symfony or rewrite rules tell me where I'm going wrong?
If you have a private folder on your shared host (like on plesk hosts) you can put all your symfony folders (expect web/) in your private folder. Then you have to adjust your web dir in the symfony configs and the path to your ProjectConfiguration in your front controller (index.php or frontend_dev.php, ...).

I have written .htaccess files to prevent frontend/web from appearing in url but when I saet links through Url::to it appears in url.
This is my .htaccess in root directory:
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine On
</IfModule>
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/(admin)
RewriteRule ^admin/assets/(.*)$ backend/web/assets/$1 [L]
RewriteRule ^admin/css/(.*)$ backend/web/css/$1 [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/backend/web/(assets|css)/
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/(admin)
RewriteRule ^.*$ backend/web/index.php [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/(assets|css|js|images)
RewriteRule ^assets/(.*)$ frontend/web/assets/$1 [L]

This is .htaccess file in frontend/web directory:
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . index.php
Please help me I have no idea what to do.
Use the following configuration in Apache's httpd.conf file or within a virtual host configuration. Note that you should replace path/to/frontend/web with the actual path for frontend/web.
# Set document root to be "frontend/web"
DocumentRoot "path/to/frontend/web"
<Directory "path/to/frontend/web">
# use mod_rewrite for pretty URL support
RewriteEngine on
# If a directory or a file exists, use the request directly
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
# Otherwise forward the request to index.php
RewriteRule . index.php
# ...other settings...
</Directory>

Add below lines in to your .htaccess file and replace /to/base/path/ with your project directory path
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/to/base/path/
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ frontend/web/$1 [L]
You have a lot of questions about basic stuff. what about this
And you can see in them a lot of stuff for ccs and not only
I have such URL at my Magento website as http://magento.store/about and http://magento.store/index.php/about. I don't need these two pages, I need them to be properly rewrited in .htaccess file. I've tried everything which I could find at StackOverflow but nothing helps. I configured URL-rewrites in configuration using adpanel, used different solutions but the most, I got is to do these redirects but my adpanel doesn't writes any changes to the website's database (I used this solution:
RedirectMatch 301 ^/index.php/((?!admin).*) http://www.magento.store/$1
In this case it is impossible to change anything in adpanel. The usual solutions such as
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
do not also work. They are ignored as far as I understand.
How can I solve this issue?
Here is my .htaccess file (the part about the mod_rewrite):
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^magento\.store$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.magento.store/$1 [L,R=301]
# redirect pagination
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^p=1$
RewriteRule ^(.+)$ http://www.magento.store/$1? [R=301,L]
RewriteRule ^pagename$ http://www.magento.store/page-name [L,R=301]
#RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !/admin/
#RewriteRule ^index\.php/(.+)$ /$1 [R,L]
#RewriteRule ^index\.php/?$ / [R,L]
#RedirectMatch 301 ^/index.php/(.*)$ /$1
#RedirectMatch 301 ^/index.php/((?!admin).*) http://magento.store/$1
RewriteRule ^api/rest api.php?type=rest [QSA,L]

Is it possible that I have some conflicts inf my file?
You can capture the part after index.php and redirect the client with
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule ^index\.php/(.+)$ /$1 [R,L]
RewriteRule ^index\.php/?$ / [R,L]
This redirects all requests starting with index.php/ to the URL without index.php. Additionally index.php and index.php/ are redirected to the home page.
Use below .htaccess rule:
## index.php on default domain
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^.*/index.php
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/downloader.*$
RewriteRule ^(.*)index.php$ http://www.idesignmydrapes.com [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^idesignmydrapes\.com$ [NC]
Thank you, everybody, for your help. Finally, I made the solution and it is the following:
Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !/adpanel/
RewriteRule ^index\.php/(.*)$ http://magento.store/$1 [L,R=301]
I've a laravel installed in /dev.domain.com/ and RootDocument is set to /dev.domain.com/public
The laravel works without any problem and then I install WordPress in newly created directory named "blog" under the laravel's public folder
Wordpress path : /dev.domain.com/public/blog
On localhost I'm can access /blog and setup wordpress as usual, however the problem come with I deploy to live server by cloning with git. The laravel path works fine but when I try to access /blog directory in public folder it returns 404 Not found
Below is the Laravel
/dev.domain.com/public/.htacess
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
<IfModule mod_negotiation.c>
Options -MultiViews
</IfModule>
RewriteEngine On
# Redirect non ssl to ssl
# and don't redirect subdomain
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^dev\.domain\.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*) - [L]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain\.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*) http://www.domain.com/$1 [L,R=301]
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule ^ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [R=301,L,NE]
# Redirect Trailing Slashes If Not A Folder...
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)/$ /$1 [L,R=301]
# Handle Front Controller...
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^ index.php [L]
</IfModule>
and Wordpress
/dev.domain.com/public/blog/.htaccess
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /blog/
# Disable WordPress front-end
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !/wp-admin
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !/wp-includes
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !/wp-login\.php$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !/wp-content
RewriteRule (.*) https://www.domain.com/ [R=301,L]
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>
# END WordPress
I've tried to add this one but no chance to make it works
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/blog
Above
RewriteRule (.*) https://www.domain.com/ [R=301,L]
Try this recipe, it works for me.
Add to Laravel .htaccess:
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/blog/ #
And change these lines in Wordpress .htaccess:
RewriteBase /blog/
RewriteRule . /blog/index.php [L]
I am trying to setup a codeigniter app to force HTTPS across all pages except one. However, I cannot get the rules to only redirect if the user is not on the page in question.
The page that should be excluded has the following URL's:
http://mydomain.com/kpi/reports/67
http://mydomain.com/kpi/reports/67/overview/2013-02-01/2013-02-28
http://mydomain.com/index.php?/kpi/reports/67
http://mydomain.com/index.php?/kpi/reports/67/overview/2013-02-01/2013-02-28
The number 67 and the dates can all change in the URL's above hence the user of regular expressions below.
I have tested the regular expressions and they seem to match the URL's fine. However, the htaccess just seems to redirect it to https:// anyway.
My .htaccess file is as follows...
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
#Disallow access to system dir
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^system.*
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php?/$1 [L]
#Disallow access to application dir
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^application.*
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php?/$1 [L]
#Force https when not on overview report
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/index\.php\?/kpi/reports/?([0-9]+)$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/index\.php\?/kpi/reports/?([0-9]+)/overview/?([0-9]+)-?([0-9]+)-?([0-9]+)/?([0-9]+)-?([0-9]+)-?([0-9]+)$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/kpi/reports/?([0-9]+)$
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/kpi/reports/?([0-9]+)/overview/?([0-9]+)-?([0-9]+)-?([0-9]+)/?([0-9]+)-?([0-9]+)-?([0-9]+)$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{SERVER_NAME}%{REQUEST_URI} [R=302,L]
#If not a valid file, redirect request through index.php
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?/$1 [L]
</IfModule>
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Maybe this will do what you need:
#Force https when not on overview report
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !kpi/reports/[0-9]+/?$ [NC]
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} !kpi/reports/[0-9]+/overview/[^/]+/[^/]+/? [NC]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !kpi/reports/[0-9]+/?$ [NC]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !kpi/reports/[0-9]+/overview/[^/]+/[^/]+/? [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{SERVER_NAME}%{REQUEST_URI} [R=302,L]
#If not a valid file, redirect request through index.php
Replace all lines between the comments.
I try to redirect http://mydomain.com to http://www.mydomain.com
I add this to my htaccess file, but it not work :
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^mydomain\.fr [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.mydomain.fr/$1 [L,R=301]
This is the complete file :
Options +FollowSymLinks +ExecCGI
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^mydomain\.fr [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.mydomain.fr/$1 [L,R=301]
# uncomment the following line, if you are having trouble
# getting no_script_name to work
#RewriteBase /
# we skip all files with .something
#RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} \..+$
#RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !\.html$
#RewriteRule .* - [L]
# we check if the .html version is here (caching)
RewriteRule ^$ index.html [QSA]
RewriteRule ^([^.]+)$ $1.html [QSA]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
# no, so we redirect to our front web controller
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php [QSA,L]
</IfModule>
Try:
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www.mydomain.fr [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.mydomain.fr/$1 [L,R=301]
I'm using this on an existing site at the moment - seems to work fine here.
# Never keep domain name without subdomain
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^mydomain\.fr$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.mydomain.fr/$1 [R=301,L]
