getting JTextPane to scroll - jtextpane

How do I get JTextPane to scroll? In this example, JScrollPane is employed but as running the code will reveal, the scroll bar can be displayed but it is not functional.
import java.awt.BorderLayout;
import javax.swing.*;
import javax.swing.text.*;
public class JTextPaneTester
{
JTextPane jtp = new JTextPane();
StyledDocument doc;
Style style;
JScrollPane jsp = new JScrollPane(jtp);
JTextPaneTester()
{
doc = (StyledDocument)jtp.getDocument();
style = doc.addStyle("fancy", null);
jsp.setVerticalScrollBarPolicy(
ScrollPaneConstants.VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR_ALWAYS);
}
void append(String s)
{
try
{
doc.insertString(doc.getLength(), s, style);
}
catch (BadLocationException e) { assert false: "problem"; }
}
public static void main(String[] args)
{
JTextPaneTester thing = new JTextPaneTester();
for (int i = 0; i < 100; i++)
thing.append("nouns verbs adjectives \n");
JFrame f = new JFrame();
JPanel center = new JPanel();
f.add(center, BorderLayout.CENTER);
center.add(thing.jsp);
f.setSize(400, 400);
f.setVisible(true);
}
}

If I place the snippet
for (int i = 0; i < 100; i++) {
thing.append("nouns verbs adjectives \n");
}
after
f.setVisible(true);
it seems to work.

RecylerView to pdf

Hello am new to Android studio
I have made recylerview for transaction details . I need to create pdf for this recylerview items.
Example: I have 24 cardviews in recylerview so need to create pdf with each page 4 cardviews only . So totally I need to get pdf as 6 pages .
How to do that . Thanks in advance.
This is sample image of my view
Am passing below code
recyclerView.measure(View.MeasureSpec.makeMeasureSpec(recyclerView.getWidth(),View.MeasureSpec.EXACTLY),View.MeasureSpec.makeMeasureSpec(0,View.MeasureSpec.UNSPECIFIED));
Bitmap bm=Bitmap.createBitmap(recyclerView.getWidth(),recyclerView.getMeasuredHeight(),Bitmap.Config.ARGB_8888);
String mpath2="/mnt/sdcard/mathanpaymentpdf";
File imageFile = new File(mpath2);
PDFHelper pdfHelper = new PDFHelper(imageFile,this);
pdfHelper.saveImageToPDF(recyclerView,bm,"mathan"+System.currentTimeMillis());
public class PDFHelper {
private File mFolder;
private File mFile;
private Context mContext;
public PDFHelper(File folder, Context context) {
this.mContext = context;
this.mFolder = folder;
if(!mFolder.exists())
mFolder.mkdirs();
}
public void saveImageToPDF(View title, Bitmap bitmap, String filename) {
mFile = new File(mFolder, filename + ".pdf");
if (!mFile.exists()) {
int height = title.getHeight() + bitmap.getHeight();
PdfDocument document = new PdfDocument();
PdfDocument.PageInfo pageInfo = new PdfDocument.PageInfo.Builder(bitmap.getWidth(), height, 1).create();
PdfDocument.Page page = document.startPage(pageInfo);
Canvas canvas = page.getCanvas();
title.draw(canvas);
canvas.drawBitmap(bitmap, null, new Rect(0, title.getHeight(), bitmap.getWidth(),bitmap.getHeight()), null);
document.finishPage(page);
try {
mFile.createNewFile();
OutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(mFile);
document.writeTo(out);
document.close();
out.close();
} catch (IOException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
}
}
This am tried am getting pdf on a single page only
Just I need to split into multiple pages.
Note: I need code in java, not in kotlin
Am solved this by using itext library
implementation 'com.itextpdf:itextpdf:5.0.6'
Then call with RecylerView

I am new to libgdx and I am trying to create a game with a leaderboard .
I created this by importing the BaseGameUtils .
Else if you have another way i could create a global leaderboard in my
game please let me know.
It is critical that you call the initialize method in onCreate of your AndroidLauncher class. This is what sets up LibGDX's backends for graphics, sound, and input. Since you did not call initialize, the input class (along with graphics, sound, files, etc.) was not set up and assigned, and so is still null when the resume part of the lifecycle is reached. This leads to the NullPointerException.
In your case, your onCreate method should look something like:
#Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
AndroidApplicationConfiguration config = new AndroidApplicationConfiguration();
// customize the configuration here
initialize(new epl(), config);
// Your other setup code...
}
Note, class names in Java should always start with a capital letter. It will make it easier to read and understand your code.

ProgressBar in Javafx shows only state 0 and 100% while copying file

How to fix this code using multithreading?
It's working but I need to know how to add a thread to this code, I think that this is why the progress bar not updating progressively!
public void copyfile(ActionEvent event){
try {
File fileIn = new File(filepath);
long length = fileIn.length();
long counter = 0;
double r;
double res=(counter/length);
filename=fieldname.getText();
FileInputStream from=new FileInputStream(filepath);
FileOutputStream to=new FileOutputStream("C:\\xampp\\htdocs\\videos\\"+filename+".mp4");
byte [] buffer = new byte[4096];
int bytesRead=0;
while( (r=bytesRead=from.read(buffer))!= 1){
progressbar.setProgress(counter/length);
counter += r*100;
to.write(buffer, 0, bytesRead);
System.out.println("File is loading!!"+(counter/length));
}
from.close();
to.close();
} catch (Exception e) {
progress.setText("upload is finished!!");
}
}
Can you please post any solution, which helps me?
Thanks for all advices.
There is an example of associating a progress bar with progress of a concurrent task in Oracle's JavaFX 8 concurrency documentation.
import javafx.concurrent.Task;
Task task = new Task<Void>() {
#Override public Void call() {
static final int max = 1000000;
for (int i=1; i<=max; i++) {
if (isCancelled()) {
break;
}
updateProgress(i, max);
}
return null;
}
};
ProgressBar bar = new ProgressBar();
bar.progressProperty().bind(task.progressProperty());
new Thread(task).start();

SWT: GridLayout column span

I've been using SWT for a few years, but i can't seem to figure this one out:
I need to SPLIT a VIEW into 2 "zones": LEFT and RIGHT
So i use a Composite with GridLayout with 2 columns to do it.
Inside the RIGHT composite i have a FIXED number of columns (created inside another GridLayout composite) but inside the LEFT composite i need to create a DYNAMIC number of columns that spans on the composite limit...
Is there a way to achieve this?
I tried a RowLayout inside left composite, but these 2 don't match :-\
Thanks
As it is not clear what you mean by
columns that spans on the composite limit
I tried a RowLayout inside left composite, but these 2 don't match
Therefore I am assuming that you want a dynamically changing gridlayout for your left composite. See the code below, specially the button.addSelectionListener().

I try to store all data from an object called BinNews, to a vector called binN. But when I do debugging, I found that BinN has null value, because "binN.addElement(bin)" doesn't work.
Please advise.
First, you don't actually call setBinN until after the while(i < 10) loop completes. So when you say binN.addElement(bin) then binN will be null.
However your setBinN(binN) call doesn't make sense because you're passing in binN and then setting it to itself which isn't going to do anything.
What you can do is have binN = new Vector(); at the top of the constructor and then it won't be null later on. I don't think the setBinN call will be necessary later on if you're adding the BinNews objects straight to binN.
