Is it possible to change these default text?If so please suggest.

If you rightclick your installation project in VS2010 under the option "View" you can select the user interface. A new tab wil open with al the UI windows on it, you can change the text there.

Edit Configuration pops up when I run a project, ignoring it says Cant start compilation as output path not set

This dialogue box appears after I click run
When I run the android project I downloaded from Android Developers website, the edit configuration dialogue box shows up. When I press run again, it says the configuration is wrong.I am a beginner and have never opened any project (nor made in my android studio) before.
Appears if I again click run, says incorrect configuration
Another box after that which asks to set output path
I tried adding a configuration named "FragmentBasics" in the Application menu but it doesn't allow me to select the main class.
The java class doesnt get selected
(Tip: Update your Android Studio. It looks like an ancient version... Do that before doing anything else.)
(Prerequisites: Create an Android Virtual Device (AVD): Error running 'app: No target device found. Android Studio 3.6 Preview)
You don't have the right configurations.
(1 Go to the Configuration Dropdown Menu and click Edit Configurations.
(2 Delete existing configurations (None of the classes in your project have the "main" method declaration)
(3 Add an "Android" run config
(4 Fill in config information
Now you are ready to deploy your app (Assuming you have an AVD).
Hope I helped you!

IPA file is not created in Xamarin.IOS

I have problem creating the IPA file for Xamarin.IOS project.
In properties of the project i've selected the certificate and the provision and also selected the "create IPA file".
The build finishing succesfully but no IPA file there.
The project is on Release mode.
Any ideas?
I also tried to make archive from the Mac but i am getting errors "file not found" because the icons folder have extention of .app and its not recognised by Mac
Select Release (Solution Configuration)/iPhone (Solution Platform)/Remote Device, then right click on the iOS project and click on "Archive...".
The IPA is now building.
In the following link of Microsoft docs, it shows you the steps you need to take for creating an IPA.
In the Solution Explorer, right-click the Xamarin.iOS project name and select Properties to open them for editing:
Select iOS IPA Options and select Ad-Hoc from the Configuration dropdown list:
If you are including an option iTunesMetadata.plist file, click the ... button, select it from the list and click the Open button:
You can optionally specify a Package Name for the IPA, if not specified it will have the same name as the Xamarin.iOS project.
Save your changes to the Project Properties.
Select Ad Hoc from the Build Configuration dropdown if it is available. Otherwise select Release:
Build the project to create the IPA package.
The IPA will be build in the Bin > iOS Device > Ad Hoc (or Release) folder:
Could be a bug, turning the option off and on again for building the IPA file in IPA options worked for me.
I've unistalled VS and installed again and the file created
Close Visual Studio
Delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\VisualStudio\17.0_d8613546\ComponentModelCache
Start Visual Studio
Build the project
the IPA created

How to package all files in msi

I have install shield 2013. I recently converted an existing msi file to a ism using this article. I am a total noob w.r.t installshield but I'm on a tight deadline (needed to deploy on Friday... its now Sunday L.O.A.D (Life Of A Developer :) )). I built my ism project and now I have a msi file but I noticed my files are not packaged in the msi but on seperate folder.
How can I package the files into the msi.
Thanks
In your project, select Project Assistant tab, Build Installation panel, select Single MSI Package checkbox, then click Build Installations button.
I know this is an old thread, but just because I ran into this I'll let you know what worked for me without using the Project Assistant tab.
On the "Releases" screen, right-click the release you want to affect and run the "Release Wizard".
On the "Media Type" dialog, select "Network Image".
On the "Release Configuration" dialog, select "Compress all files".
When you get to the "Advanced Settings" dialog UNCHECK "Optimize size".
With those settings, you should get an MSI with no .cab files. As a side note, the name of the .msi file will be whatever the Product Name property is set to in the General Information screen.

I have made an application in visual studio 2012 and went under whole process of certification but the test failed, please give me the solution?

please guide me , how to change the default icon in the project in visual studio 2012 ?
due to that the certification test fails .
Due to this error I am not able to upload it to the windows store.
To change the default icon, first find or make an icon file. Then do this:
Go to the project properties. (Project menu.)
Select the Application pane. (Probably the first one.)
Go to the section Resources.
Check the option (radio) button Icon and manifest.
For the Icon field, use the browse button to select your icon file.
Save it, build it, try the certification test again.

Importing an existing source file in Visual Studio 2012

I want to add the source-code of a tutorial into an existing project, and I want the file to be copied to the project folder from the temporary file on the desktop I downloaded it to. Context clicking on the "Source Files" Folder in the Solution Explorer leads me the Add->Existing Item... menu, and I can then add the source file. However, it is NOT copied into the project folder, but stays in its original location. The project just knows about it, displays it in the Solution Explorer, and considers it part of the project.
This help page on MSDN tells me that in Visual Studio 2010, default behaviour used to consist in copying the file into the project folder, and that one could choose to Add a link instead of physically importing the file into the project directory by choosing "Add Link". However, now I always only get a link, and real physical import into the project folder seems impossible.
I could go through the File Explorer to physically import, but the Solution Explorer doesn't update the new files on the fly, and I would like to do this from within VS.
Is there a way? Is this a bug in VS 2012?
Copy in the files using Explorer, then in the solution explorer tick the Show All files option in the button bar of the solution explorer (you might need to select a Project first).
You can now right-click any files not part of the projects and choose Include in Project.
Or use the Add Existing File option.
The reason files are not added automatically to your solution when pasted into the folder using Explorer is because you might not want to have them added.
A neat little trick is to use the "Open In explorer" option:
(though it might be added by the Productivity Power Tools).
Plus, you can Drag&Drop files directly from explorer to the Visual Studio (when they're both running in the same elevation level if you have User Account Control enabled). To fix the UAC issues, you can either run Explorer as administrator too or install the VSCommands extension.
And you can Copy&Paste a file or set of files into the solution explorer by right-clicking a project or project folder and picking Paste on the context menu.
