I have a grid of text boxes in my Flex 4 app that loads an xml file and displays whatever is written there. The number of boxes won't change, but the text inside them will. This is a sign that needs to be readable from a distance so I need the font to autosize to fit. So it should go large if it can, if not, it should be just large enough to display what's in the box.
I've tried RichText, RichEditableText, and TextArea and nothing seems to work. The other posts on autosizing text at Stackoverflow weren't helpful either. Does anyone know how to do this?

We are trying to incorporate an image within a link on an Acumatica report.
We are very close to getting the result we need with the 2018R2 version and have a strategy for a workaround in the 2018R1 version.
The TextBox control Is the only way we have found so far that will allow for setting a hyperlink within an invoice report definition. We are able to set a background image in the Appearance/Style/BackImage property. The only way we can get the whole image to be clickable is to have text span the whole control which is fine if we can set the text font to use a transparent color. Setting the Appearance/Style/Color seems to be the property to do this however when the report is previewed the font gets overridden and displayed as the standard Hyperlink color. The behavior when the report is rendered as a PDF via Acumatica’s email delivery system the font appears white. See Images for a visual.
Transparent Text in Report Preview
Transparent Text in Rendered PDF
There looks to be an Appearance/StyleName property for the TextBox control is there an underlying CSS file that can be further manipulated to also control the LinkText properties to display the LinkText in a transparent font? If yes is there any documentation that would help with doing this.
The 2018R1 versions and prior do not render a clickable link within a PDF if the above strategy is used. Per the ticket, I opened last week on the topic the only way to get this link is to have the whole URL on a single line.
PDFs rendered from a invoice definition hosting a hyperlink will not create a clickable link
This makes it a challenge to control the placement of the image to be centered as well as having only the space within the first line as being clickable. We have solved this in a different ERP system by having multiple links overlapping a background image also using transparent font. This required us to set the Z order so that the link controls are rendered on top of the back-ground image. The Acumatica Report Designer however appears to not have the ability to control Z order. Any attempt to place a link overtop of an image does not achieve the result we are looking for. If we can get this strategy to work we will likely also use it for the 2018R2+ versions to keep things consistent.
This screenshot depicts the strategy attempted.
Are there any other strategies to meet this requirement?
Thanks in advance.
For Version 2018 R2:
You can use the TextBox->Style->BackImage property to show the image and the NavigateUrl property to set the URL link. Html mode doesn't display back image but PDF mode will display it fine and the image link works:
For Version 2018 R1:
Unfortunately I didn't find a way to achieve this because I can't get the text to render transparent when it is located over an image.
There is z-order control (bring to front/send to back) in the report designer toolbar and right click context-menu. The problem here is that while the report designer supports overlapping control the report renderer doesn't. If controls are overlapping, when printing the report the overlapping controls won't get rendered on top of another like they are in the designer.
Having overlapping controls isn't really required here because we can display the image with the Textbox Style->BackImage property or with the Report->Style->BackImage.
It's also possible to make text font size bigger so you don't need multiple text box or set multiline=true with textwrap=false and repeat link on each line.
But the main issue remains rendering transparent text over an image. I couldn't find a way to do that. When there's an image under the text, the text is no longer transparent. That behavior happens for the textbox background image as well as the global report background image. This suggests to me that it might not be possible to put transparent text on top:
I have a system where if you walk by a sign it will create a popup dialogue which is fine (just the popup part) but when I try to make it to where it can be adjusted based on how much text is displayed (Content Size Fitter) then I get something that literally does not make any sense to me whatsoever. When using World Space my font on Text components has to be 0 (also makes no sense) so that 1 letter isn't the size of 100 units and the combination of these 2 issues has almost made me go mad but that is the reason why I am here so you all can save me!
My setup for my sign :
Now this is the dialogue that is spawned viewed from the inspector (Not shown in the scene/game view yet) :
Now this is when the player walks near the sign with all the components you see in the screenshots :
As you can see the height of my dialoguePanel for some reason keeps going to 321 and New Years isn't close so this countdown I am not happy with. It should be adjusting to how much text is in it. I mean I just did a tooltip almost 100% identical except that the Canvas isn't World Space but Screen Space - Overlay. On top of all this it seems any text I use in World Space HAS to be font 0. Please help I am about to lose my mind.
World space canvas is a bit tricky. And guess what is even more tricky: content size fitter. One of solutions is that you add your dialog UI element manually in the scene at desired location and tweak its RectTransform values in inspector to get what you want to see in scene view and then save it as prefab.
Read more about How Content Size Fitter works and there is one more thing about UI when working with world space canvas. UI is way too bigger than your other scene elements. To solve this problem you have to scale it down as instructed in section Specify the size of the Canvas in the world.
Hope it helps :)
I have read the documentation for the Color Schemes. I realized all settings except invisibles and shadow (+shadowWidth). I can translate from English, but I do not see anywhere where the elements, the color of which changes settings. Does anyone could show me the screenshots, where there are elements which change color? Thanks.
From the unofficial documentation on color schemes, linked to in your question, we can see that invisibles is ignored, so changing it has no effect on the appearance of any elements in ST3. The tmTheme format is borrowed from a different text editor, to make it easier to use the same color scheme in different editors. So maybe it does something in other text editors, but not in ST. EDIT: support for invisibles has been added to ST in build 3149 - https://github.com/SublimeTextIssues/Core/issues/1992.
The effect of the shadow setting can be seen below, it is the pink parts on the far sides:
It is only visible when the text in the document is wider than the window - it will appear on the left when the view can be scrolled to the left and it will appear on the right when the view can be scrolled to the right.
From my testing, including shadowWidth in the tmTheme file will cause the shadow to not appear. I have logged an issue in the unofficial documentation here, maybe someone will update it with details of how to get this working.
Note:
When making changes to atmTheme file, it is often necessary to close all open documents, and restart Sublime Text, before the change will become visible.
How do you change the text within the extension library dialog box? No matter what I do, the text remains the same size. I can see the font change in the designer cleint but not in the browser. I tried looking at it with IE Developer Tools but I can't even see the text anywhere.
I have no idea what was going on yesterday but it just wasn't working. I was simply trying to set the text size of a computed field inside a dialog box. I changed the font size in the properties of the computed field and seems to work now, We have seen these issues on our dev server before.
I am not sure if you can change the text with text options but you can if you use HTML, and it should also work with CSS.
Standard <h1><h2><h... oh you get the idea works for me.
Can the browser feature of Ctrl+F to find text be integrated with text in popup windows.
I'd like to have some scientific reference information given when someone hovers over a species name in a web page. Generating the popup, tooltip style text is no problem, the problem is that anyone using Ctrl+F won't be able to find it, or if I position the text out of view when not required, it will be found but be invisible.
The same sort of effect applies to "accordion" style expanding text areas.
I'm looking for some sort of event generated when find is highlighting a result.
Unfortunately there is no such event, you can't interfere with the built-in find.
About the best you can do in this case is to provide your own search function in-page, which searches the DOM for Text nodes containing the given text, highlights them, and opens up any closed accordions they're in.
The only idea I have, is to put all the text from your popups in one additional scrollbox (maybe at the bottom of the page) with a height just large enough to display one set of detail information at a time. This way, it doesn't take up too much space on the page, and the text can still be found using Ctrl+F.
