Hi StackOverflow team !
I've created an Eclipse RCP desktop application which has an extra menu called 'Help' in the menubar. I didn't create it from any of usual ways like adding actionSets extention, or creating and registering the actions from ActionBarAdvisor.java of the project. I don't need it anymore. Please, suggest me how can i remove it from my Menubar ?
It's sounds like the help UI plug-ins are being included within your run configuration
Couple of things to check...
-- Have a look at your application's .product file, and see which plug-ins are defined, and see if the org.eclipse.help.ui plug-in is defined (org.eclipse.help is probably defined since org.eclipse.ui.workbench requires it, but this won't cause the menu to appear)
-- If you are running within Eclipse, open Run --> Run Configurations, select the Eclipse application you are running and check the plug-ins tab. If it is launching with 'all workspace and enabled target plug-ins' then this will be picking up the help UI plug-ins too. Even if it's not set to this option, check the plug-ins ticked to see if the org.eclipse.help.ui is defined.
This configuration should only use the plug-ins required for your application. If it was created by using the 'Launch an Eclipse Application' option from within the .product file, the configuration created should match the plug-ins defined in that.
It's also worth making sure that no other plug-ins use org.eclipse.help.ui - this can be easily seen by removing it, and then pressing the 'Validate Plug-ins' button within the run configuration dialog, it will show you if anything has been broken after removing it

I'm using DDEV with Visual Studio Code and I tried to configure Live Server Extension to automatically auto reload page that I'm working on in Chrome when I hit save in VSC, but it doesn't seem to work with PHP.
Is there a way to configure this to work with DDEV?
I can't seam to find any info on this issue.
Thanks
I've managed to do it another way, with guard and guard-liveguard on linux.
The workflow was:
guard installation
guard-livereload installation
Installation was not quite straightforward, but you can follow the instructions in Terminal and install what's missing if it tells you so.
Guard placed Guardfile inside of /home/user directory so I edited it to contain only this, regarding livereload pard:
guard 'livereload' do
watch(%r{.+\.(css|scss|html|php|js)$})
end
Then I installed Liveguard Google Chrome Browser Extension from here:
http://livereload.com/extensions/
Under settings I had to enable "Allow access to file URLs".
Also, you have to press liveguard extension icon in Chrome in order for it to track changes.
That's about it, now when I edit any of the file types entered in Guardfile (you can edit and add what you need, of course) it automatically reloads my Chrome window whit the edited page opened.
So I'm trying to find a way to add default file extensions options to Firefox. Since for whatever reason it doesn't give you the option?
Example: Settings > General > Applications
I want to add new content types and then be able to select my default application of choice.
The current issue is, that I use an MSP client that when necessary allows us to remote into a client's workstation for troubleshooting. Normally one would just click on the "Start Remote Session," button, and it brings up the application to do so. However, since it operates in some form of Javascript (I think....?), it doesn't technically download a file for me to save and then execute through the app. It just opens the app automatically. It never gives me the option to save the a file or anything like that, that it would use for the Remote Session app.
So I want to figure out how to bypass this issue by just adding the extension needed for this process in Firefox's default content types.
Works on Windows, I'm currently on Linux. (So please don't tell me to not use linux or any form there of. That or to use wine or playonlinux. I already am)
I am the developer of Planner and I am having a problem assigning a keyboard shortcut to the current system.
Planner is a task manager and has a built-in application called Quick Add that through a keyboard shortcut that can be run regardless of whether Planner is running.
To install this keyboard shortcut I use the following service.
This works perfectly if I build Planner from the repository. However, I have an error if I execute the same function if I build Planner from Flatpak
** (com.github.alainm23.planner:2): WARNING **: 15:54:36.510: CustomShortcutSettings.vala:28: Schema "org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.media-keys" is not installed on your system.
I know that I can't access the scheme of org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.media-key And I need a hole to edit the dfcon configuration of the system.
The question is how can I do that. If anyone could help me I would be very grateful.
Flatpak by default doesn't allow editing GSettings in a way that affects the rest of the desktop, since rouge applications could use that ability to do things with security and privacy implications, like set or unset proxy servers.
So it would be best to look into alternative ways to make this possible - perhaps provide people with instructions to set it up manually, or request and/or contribute proper portal support for setting global keyboard shortcuts.
If you still really want to implement this, check the link above for the details on the sandbox hole you need to open to make it work.
I am deploying a SharePoint 2010 web part that uses the microsoft .net charting tool to build charts. I need the chart handler added to the sharepoint web.configs automatically. I've been told that when you create the wsp the package can be told that when the program is installed it needs to modify the web.config to add these handlers.
I have seen a couple options out there:
-WebConfigModifications
-Safe controls
I don't know which, if any, that I should be using. I don't know for sure if this will be a first time installation for the application (we're moving sharepoint environments at the same time we are updating this. I think that it will be a first time installation on that new environment but can't be sure.)
And I definitely do not know how to implement this correctly. I would appreciate any advice.
Also it may be important to know that I do not have any privileges on the server. I can't even deploy myself.
For example, this seems like good info: http://platinumdogs.me/2009/07/08/using-the-mschart-controls-in-sharepoint-moss-2007/ Except that I can't just write to the webconfig and restart IIS. It has to be automated and not a direct edit to the file.
Thanks all!
I would recommend that you use a Feature Receiver attached to your WSP to create the appropriate SPWebConfigModification entries when your solution's features are activated. Likewise, the SPWebConfigModification entries should be removed when your solution's features are deactivated.
Step 1: Create a Feature Receiver
MSDN has an overview of how to add a Feature Receiver: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee231604.aspx
Note you'll want to handle both the FeatureActivated and FeatureDeactivating events.
Step 2: Use Feature Receiver events to add or remove SPWebConfigModifications
In those two events, you'll need to programmatically add or remove one or more SPWebConfigModification entries. These affect SharePoint's web.config file, but unlike a manual edit of the config file, they are stored in SharePoint's content database. This means that if the web.config is reset for any reason (and it happens), SharePoint can and will reapply the modifications, thus preserving your changes.
MSDN has an overview of programmatically creating and removing SPWebConfigModifications: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/bb861909(v=office.14).aspx
It is very important that the FeatureDeactivating event properly clean up all modifications made during FeatureActivated, or you will end up with a proliferation of duplicate config entries. This means you need to really understand how to use the Path and Name properties of the SPWebConfigModification.
This article gives a good overview of how Path and Name are combined to create an XPath expression pointing to the node to be added or removed: http://smindreau.wordpress.com/2013/06/12/finally-the-way-to-add-web-config-modifications-to-sharepoint/
Step 3: Test, test, TEST!
Lastly, test activating and deactivating your solution's feature in your local development environment to make sure everything is working properly. Note that the modifications will be applied via a timer job, so you may need to wait a minute or two to see the changes show up. Be sure the feature deactivation cleans up your modifications! (If you get into a mess in your development environment with duplicate modifications, you can always wipe the slate clean with a little PowerShell action.)
I have not found a good simple tutorial for this. I just want the app to freeze at the breakpoints so I can explore the contents of the various variables, particularly their json content.
This is a garbage documentation:
http://www.jetbrains.com/webstorm/webhelp/running-and-debugging-node-js.html#d40161e701
I can't even set up breakpoints. Is it so simple to do this in Eclipse...
UPDATE
Using Webstorm 7.0's early access build, the debugger works flawlessly. I just made a new project, added a breakpoint and used Debug. Stopped at that breakpoint with no problems whatsoever, so apparently Webstorm 6.0's debugger sucks :D
You can get it here: http://confluence.jetbrains.com/display/WI/WebStorm+7+EAP Beware, it expires on 8 August.
I use webstorm and it's great. Having looked at that documentation, I agree. If you're just starting out, you don't need all the remote and attach to existing processes options.
The easiest option would be to rightclick on your main js file and choose debug. Setting breakpoints is the same as in most editors these days, just click left of the line.
If you don't get the debug option when you right click then you need to make a run/debug configuration which sounds worse than it is.
Select "Run" -> "Edit configurations".
Click the plus sign.
Choose "Node.js"
Click on the browse ... button on the Path to Node App js file and choose the file you want to debug
Click Ok.
