I am working in Facebook application in which I have created event Successfully, I am getting name.place, start_time, endtime property from api. But my problem is to send events invitation to Facebook friends, for this I am finding lot of details but that not help much.
Like you I have figured out how to create the event. However I am not sure how to get the event id. If you can tell me how to do that it would be great.
Bad news is it looks like Facebook has yet to implement the invite functionality using the Graph API.
http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/rest/events.invite/
Hope this helps.
see Inviting selected users to Facebook-Event (via Graph API)
Facebook now has a graph api for inviting friends to events.
http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/api/event/
invited
Create
You can invite users to an event by issuing an HTTP POST to /EVENT_ID/invited/USER_ID. You can invite multiple users by issuing an HTTP POST to /EVENT_ID/invited?users=USER_ID1,USER_ID2,USER_ID3. Both of these require the create_event permission and return true if the invite is successful.

I'm trying to create an app in which I would like to display user feeds from social media apps like Instagram. I want the data to be as live as possible so I tried to integrate Instagram Webhooks. I have created a server side application with Instagram's authentication and a callback url for webhooks through which I want to fetch data from Instagram and then store it in a database.
I have been going through the Official documentation. I was able to get User id, name, comments through Instagram API and I have also subscribed Instagram's webhooks in my meta developer's application. It didn't throw any error but when I like or comment on my post I couldn't get any object in the callback URL. I'm completely new to this so It would be great if someone could explain me how to do this?
I have successfully configured the instagram webhook but I am receiving instagram User ID from this.
I have already tried various API which are suggested for grabbing username.
I think there is difference bwteeen getting username by Instragram Scoped User ID.
Please suggest
You cannot. in v12 you would make this API call after having received the webhook and use the IGSID for it.
Instagram does not expose the handle, for a matter of privacy I suppose.
Also, no webhook includes contact details in FB or IG, but does for WhatsApp.

I'm building a Node only application that reads logs in the background and based on an event being read will send a message to a Teams channel directly.
I've been having quite a few issues getting a Graph API access token valid through Username and password.
I have been able to get a Graph API access token with client secret and tenant id which represents access
"without a user". Now that does not allow me to post a message in a channel as I would need to have access "on behalf of a user".
API => https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/teams/{team-id}/channels/{channel-id}/messages .
Would there be another way of achieving this? Webhook/Connectors?
Thank you!
There's a few different ways you can post to a teams channel, you can set up like you said an http webhook, where you could call it to post into a channel https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/platform/webhooks-and-connectors/how-to/connectors-using
You can use power automate (flow) or logic apps to post messages as the flowbot, or you can write a bot/ use the bot framework to register a bot that can post to teams, called proactive messaging: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/platform/resources/bot-v3/bot-conversations/bots-conv-proactive
As for trying to use graph with application permissions, that's not possible, at least for the moment.
My goal is to use the Facebook webhooks to get a notification whenever an IG user mentions my IG account. For that I have followed these steps:
I have created a Facebook page and connected it with an Instagram business account.
I have created a Facebook app (which is now live) and added the product "webhooks".
I have connected my app with my page.
I have created a webhook and subscribed to the mentions event.
I have tested the webhook, using the tools provided by Facebook and it works.
The problem I'm facing is that I can't get my app to work with real data. I have tried to mention my business IG account from my IG personal account, but nothing happens. My callback url is not getting called.
My app doesn't need users to login, so I'm not sure if I need to send my app for review. Do I need a special permission?
I had the same problem. For my case, when I installed the app via graph api explorer, the page token I was using didn't have the instagram_manage_insights permission. So I granted that permission, got a new token, re did the POST request to the {page-id}/subscribed_apps again with the new token and that fixed the problem. Just for the record, I used a system user token from the business manager.
Did you verified your Facebook app via app review? If not, you won't get production data via a webhook callback for the Instagram. I had the same issue and asked the Facebook support and got following response:
However, this is not the same for instagram or pages. This is just how the product teams have decided to implement it. For app review, you can show a mock process of the flow, using either the test webhook or your own process. The app review is less about technical implementation steps, but just a way to make sure that your app is going to use the permission in a way that follows our guidelines, so mocking the procedure should be fine. The reviewers understand that you do not receive webhooks in dev mode and should take this into consideration.

Why is the Instagram Graph API webhook not working
https://developers.facebook.com/support/bugs/495933900986533/
I just figure it out of this problem.
There is a mistake in the official Instagram webhook guide:
With Graph API version 3.2, the /{page-id}/subscribed_apps edge now requires the subscribed_fields parameter, which currently does not support Instagram webhooks fields. To get around this, use your app's dashboard to subscribe.
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/instagram-api/guides/webhooks/#install-app
However, the app's dashboard subscribe is another function. You need your page to subscribe to some field to receive webhooks
Just POST /{your-instagram-connected-page-id}/subscribed_apps?subscribed_fields=feed&access_token={your-instagram-connected-page-token}
Then you will receive webhooks in live mode.
The facebook chat api is a power tool. From a purely technically point of view, it definitely does more than its predecessor of private messages in the Graph API.
This brings up a question of where Facebook is drawing the line of abuse of its chat api.
So here's how I'm planning to use the Facebook chat api for my app.
The app is an event planning app that lets users invite their friends to an event. Other than sending SMS, and emails to notify the guests, the most reliable way is to send invitations through the list of facebook friends. And let's face it, sometimes you may not have the person's phone number in your contact book, and you definitely don't remember most of their emails, so facebook is your only source for reaching them.
So I need a solution to send invitations to the guests. Here are my requirements and conditions:
The guest is a facebook friend of the user
There's no way of obtaining the guest's email (unless the user enters it) or phone number (ie. sms is not an option)
Each guest must receive a link that is unique to him/her
No one else should be able to obtain this link (ie. the message shouldn't be seen publicly)
It must not require the user's interaction to send these invitations (imagine having the user confirm a facebook post 10 times for the 10 facebook friends he's inviting). The invitation must be sent automatically.
Here's the obstacle. Facebook had revoked the functionality to send private message recently (I was able to have my facebook friends send me private messages via an app just over a month ago, not anymore). However, I discover that I could do so using Facebook Chat API.
This seems to be a grey area, my app is using the chat api for the sole purpose of helping the users notify their friends of their event invitation. There's no intention of abuse (such as mass messaging everyone of the user's friends with a link to my APP/website). Is Facebook going to hunt me down and revoke my App's privilege to use Facebook's API?
Can anyone shed some light on whether my intended usage of the API is an abuse or is it legitimate? If it is not legitimate, what are your suggestions.
I'd recommend using core functionality wherever possible here. For example, you could utilise the Facebook 'Event' object and the Graph API to create invite-only events and to invite individual friends of your app's users. This would deliver the same functionality without the need for nonce-based invite URLs and possible misuse of the Chat API. Take a look at https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/api/event/#invited for details.
