Blackberry Application Development by integrating code generated from MBO's in Sybase Unwired Platform - blackberry-eclipse-plugin

I am developing a simple Blackberry Application using Blackberry Plugins for Ecplise. I had created a MBO for Customer using the Customer table avaliable in the My Sample Database of Sybase Unwired Platform(version 1.5.2), and generated the codes for this MBO and added these Generated code to the src folder of my application in the Blackberry Plugin for Ecplise. Then added all the required .jar files and .cod files to the application. While running this application by choosing the Run as Blackberry Simulator, it is showing an error.
Error starting SUP101Sample: Module 'sup$2dclient$2drim' not found
Can you please help me, how to correct this error, and run the application?

Upgraded the Sybase Unwired Platform from 1.5.2 to 1.5.5.
Since I am using Sybase Unwired Platform of version 1.5.5, in order to access the code generated by this version I need to use Blackberry Plugin for Ecplise, which is having the JRE 5.0.0.
And in case of the .cod files we need to use sup_client_rim.cod and UltraLiteJ.cod for doing this.
This solves the problem.

How to upgrade azure sdk to 2.4?

My existing project, uses Azure .NET SDK 2.1. I wanted to upgrade the SDK to 2.4, so i dowloaded the latest from here for VS 2012. After successfull installation, when i opened up my solution, the cloud projects did not load. Thats ok, as they have been created using a lower version. So i removed them and created newer cloud projects.
But the thing which astonishes me is, there are many places in the worker role project where its throwing build error as it is not able to find out the assemblies and methods. Is there any easier way to upgrade to sdk 2.4 without making code changes. Which i think is a bad idea to make changes to the stable code, just for SDK upgrade.
When you open a project created using 2.1 SDK and try to open it using 2.4 SDK, you should see the project upgrade dialog which gives you the option to either download 2.1 SDK or convert existing project to target 2.4. Selecting the convert option should upgrade the project to 2.4. Any errors in this process will be reported in the project migration summary report.
If you are not seeing this dialog, then you might still have 2.1 sdk on your machine in addition to 2.4 sdk. In that case, you can go the Azure project properties. That will give you the option to upgrade your project to 2.4.
In regard to the build errors that you are getting for new projects, the error details will help in identifying the root cause.

SQL Server CE runtime in C# project?

I have an app using SQL Server Compact Edition. So I need the runtime to be on all the machines. I've been looking for the merge modules for the runtime however I've had no luck there.
Is there a way to bring the runtime into the app itself? And in so doing not not requiring the user to install the runtime?
Or is there a way of extracting the modules from the msi and loading them into my installer?
I am using Visual Studio 2012. And playing around with a few installer creators like Create install free. As a side, does anyone have a good freeware installer creator?
Any help would be great,
many thanks in advance
You can include the SQL Server Compact DLL files with your app, so you do not need to install anything in addition to your app - see my blog for long, detailed description - which SQL Server Compact version do you use?

WIndows CE SDK?

Where can I donwload Windows CE SDK?
What I am trying to do specifically is create a cabinet installation file that will contain setup.dll.
Setup.dll seems to be platform specific, so I need to create it using a correct SDk (through Visual Studio).
Thank you.
In this scenario the best choice will always be to contact the manufacturer of the target device so that they give you the corresponding SDK.
If this is not possible for some reason, as workaround you could try downloading the evaluation version of Platform Builder corresponding to your OS, create a new OS project, select the same features you have on your device, and generating an SDK for it. However I am not sure if redistributing your application or dll under such scenario would be legal or not.

How to run C# 4.0 app on Linux OS using mono?

I want to run my c# application with OS Linux using Mono. I am new to this cross platform migration? Please tell the procedure for doing that?
Thanks & Regards.
It very much depends on what type of application it is. For a console or WinForms app, it may be simple. Mono doesn't support WPF.
Well, the first think you'll need to do is install Mono of course. Then you probably want to run MoMA to determine your application's compatibility. There's a whole separate page about porting WinForms apps.
If all is well, you should just be able to run your application using:
mono MyApplication.exe
after copying the binaries over.
If your application is actually a web service or web application, you'll want to think about the various hosting options.
I suspect you'll want to read a lot of the pages on the Mono Start Page.
Check if your application is 100% compatible with Mono Framework using MoMA.
Remove or replace those unimplemented parts with Mono's implementation or third party libraries that works with Mono. Or if you think it should work fine, just execute it with Mono Framework 2.8 or higher. Better go with 2.10 which is default's profile is on 4.0.
There is an IDE, MonoDevelop that supports Web and Desktop applications. Open the project files (monodevelop supports visual studio project files) from monodevelop, compile and run.
you can browse mono website here, where you can find which features are supported and which are not supported and why.

Problems creating a Java Mobile Application project

I have installed the Netbeans 6.7 IDE with Java ME included, but cannot create a Mobile Application project from the Java ME category. When I select the project type the wizard stops at "Finding Feature" with the message:
Not all requested modules can be enabled:
[StandardModule:org.netbeans.modules.mobility.end2end.kig jarFile:C:\Program Files\NetBeans 6.7\mobility8\modules\org-netbeans-modules-mobility-end2end-kit.jar.
I am attempting to run this on Vista Home Premium. I have tried to run the IDE as Administrator with no luck.
I am at a loss for where to go next as I cannot seem to find any information regarding this issue. Even if you don't have the solution any insight into this error message would be helpful.
I am unable so far to get the project running via the Netbeans IDE install. I have, for the time being, installed the Java ME SDK which includes a very stripped down version of the Netbeans IDE for mobile development.
I originally had some issues starting the SDK as well on Vista. The IDE reported that it could not connect to the device manager on localhost. After some searching I found this link: Java ME SDK Startup Problem which suggests changing the hosts file localhost entry from IPv6 to IPv4. The fix worked perfectly and I can now compile and run code in the emulator.
This is not an optimal solution as the SDK does not include the visual design tools, however I am able to get a basic project going in the mean time.
I have given up on the 6.7 version and have instead located and installed 6.5.1. This previous version has been working just fine and seems to do everything I need.
I ran into the exact same error today while installing NB 6.8 beta. To resolve it we need to install two plugins:
Java Web Applications (as mentioned by Ali above) and
Sun Java System Web Server 7.0
Note that these two are part of the Category called "Java Web and EE" hence the confusion that we need to install Glassfish App Server. But we need these two plugins because they are required for debugging using breakpoints in emulator. Netbeans runs a web server when we do breakpoint based debugging.
Also note that the Java Web applications needs SOAP Web Services and JavaScript Debugger plugins to run and so these plugins are also installed when you try to install it.
You also need to install "Java Web Applications" plugin.
Tools->Plugins->Available Plugins
If the module is present, you should try unzipping it to check its content makes sense.
You should also be able to rebuild it from Netbeans sources.
You can also try to figure out why this happens by debugging the module loader inside Netbeans from its sources, using another IDE, presumably the latest version of Netbeans you can find without the issue.
If the module is missing, you might want to get the missing jar file from an installation of a previous version of Netbeans, see if it is compatible.
6.5.1 isn't missing any module.
back in version 5.5, the mobility module had to be downloaded and installed separately from the main IDE.
If you want to consider using Eclipse for developing your J2ME app...I've written a post related to that some time ago: here.
