I did a search in NB for all of my *.java programs that contains a certain string, and got a list of a few dozen programs in the search result panel, how to save the result to a text file ?
After you've done your search, there is a button on the left that says "See All Details" when you hover over it. Click that. You will see the text version of the search results. Inside that text result panel you can hit CTRL-S or right click and save the results to a file of your choice.

I am writing a plugin to perform searches for the selected text in an opengrok instance.
I have that working, in that you can select text, it will search the opengrok instance and open a panel to write out the results in a way similar to how "Find in files" presents it's results.
But it is not identical. For some reason the style is very different and things like "next_result" and "prev_result" commands don't work.
I have been reading the API Reference and looking at the various plugins found in the "Default" package, as well as reading any plugin code that I can find that seems to touch the "Find Results", but I can't for the life of me find examples of anyone putting results into the "Find Results" panel from a plugin.
How do I go about putting my own search results into the "Find Results" panel from a Sublime Text 3 plugin?
In the majority of programs and sites it is possible to switch between input and textarea fields by means of combinations of the Tab and Shift+Tab keys.
But in Sublime Text Tab — tabulation.
For example, for me open Goto Line Panel and console.
May I move between entry fields and my text also as in the majority of programs becomes by means of keyboard combinations of Tab and Shift+Tab? I know, what the Tab and Shift+Tab keys is needed for tabulation, but any combination of keys can be used to move between input and textarea fields.
Thanks.
TAB will not work but this can be achieved by series of shortcuts:
Opening line selector: Ctrl+G
Opening search: Ctrl+F
Going from search to founded string: Alt+Enter
Shortcuts above are available on Linux version. They may be different on Windows but they are there and can be found in online documentation.
With Sublime Text you can personalize your shortcut!
I found this guide on the official website and this "different but useful" question about it.
So you can create your own sort of switch with comfortable combination. Example:
alt+1 to go to search
alt+2 to go to the text
alt+3 to go to the bottom
...
this is also faster then the "tag way" because it is not cyclic!
i haven't tried it but as mentioned by Draco the commands to move exist so you can just make them more comfortable.
I am trying to use sublime for editing and making rainmeter skins, I have installed a plugin that recognizes rainmeter code nice.
In my code I have an #include=\somelocation...
at that location the file has things like colour=something
In the actual file being loaded fontColor=#colour#
How do I get it so that if I change the name of colour inside the location file it would update everywhere else?
You can use the Find in Files... functionality, located in the Find menu. In the Find: box, enter what you'd like to look for (the buttons to the left allow you to search by regex, respect capitalization, and other options - just mouse over for a description). In the Where: box, enter where you'd like to search. If nothing is entered, the search will run in all open files and folders. Click on the ... button for some extra options. Finally, enter what you'd like to replace the found values with (if anything, you can also use this dialog to simply search files).
Clicking Find will first perform the search for you, so you can verify its results. Clicking Replace will do all the replacements.
I was wondering if there is a way to keep the "Find" window open in Codeblocks IDE (I'm using v13.12 if that's relevant). I'm talking about the window that usually opens (in any IDE) when you hit 'cntrl + F'. In Codeblocks it keeps closing everytime I hit 'Find'. I would rather it stay open like in Eclipse, Notepad++, and so forth.
I normally use the "Find in files" function instead of the normal Find function.
When pressing Ctrl+F select the second tab in the window and you will find "Find in Files".
Normally I use the scope "Project files" which limits the search to the project only.
After a search you will be provided with all the results in the bottom log window in the tab "Search results". You can then easily click around on all matches and C::B will jump to the file and location.
Kind of a newbie question.
Sometimes I use the project-wide search feature, and my search results appear listed in the window below, along with the related hierarchy placement.
Let's say I double click a file. It opens. Fine.
However, if I double-click again on another file in the search results window, it will replace the file I just opened. It's impossible for me to open multiple search results, short of manually opening them from the project view.
It wasn't always this way - it worked when I first installed the program, but something changed about three days in and I can't do it anymore.
Thanks!
Go to Preferences > General > Search and uncheck Reuse editors to show matches.
