I deployed an application on Azure. Now, I setup my MvcWebRole project to publish directly to my role instance through web deploy. (refering link : http://www.wadewegner.com/2010/12/using-web-deploy-with-windows-azure-for-rapid-development/ )
However, whenever I am trying to publish an application, it is giving an error like:
Error 1 Web deployment task failed.(Remote agent (URL http://mywebsvr/MSDEPLOYAGENTSERVICE) could not be contacted.
Make sure the remote agent service is installed and started on the target computer.)
The requested resource does not exist, or the requested URL is incorrect.
Error details:
Remote agent (URL http://mywebsvr/MSDEPLOYAGENTSERVICE) could not be contacted. Make sure the remote agent service is installed and started on the target computer.
An unsupported response was received. The response header 'MSDeploy.Response' was '' but 'v1' was expected.
The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. 0 0 CPE Tracking System
I read some articles and most of them advise to make sure the remote agent service is already started by issuing the command "net start msdepsvc". But I don't know why issuing this command will return the error "The service name is invalid".
How come the server can't understand the parameter msdepsvc?
Would anybody please help!
Thanks,
TAdhav
I would try to use the new SDK 1.4 Refresh. That includes an officially supported WebDeploy tooling now and is much more likely to work without hiccups.

Thanks for your reply. Problem is resolved now. The user trying to deploy an application didn't have permission on machine.

I have an Azure logic app, inside that i am creating FTP (when file is added or modified) but after creation of FTP connection, i am unable to see the folder name inside the folder box with the error "The gateway did not receive a response from 'Microsoft.Web' within the specified time period".
Did you follow the steps in the doc create the FTP connector?
I think the problem is you didn't open the passive mode, the mode is a prerequisite asked in the doc. Due to environmental constraints, I couldn't open the passive mode, you could try it. And you need make sure you server is accessible from the internet.
If you still have questions, please let me know.
I am not able to update the web application on managed weblogic server(However I am successfully deployed that same app on admin server), Every time I tried to deploy it on managed server, I am getting
[DeploymentService:290066]Error occurred while downloading files from Administration Server for
deployment request "62,790,652,848,356". Underlying error is: "null"
I have taken the following action to solve this problem.
1) stoped both admin and managed server and start those.(The admin server is sucessfully started but the Managed server is generating the above error and started in admin mode.
2) took backup of tmp folder and deleted old tmp folder and restarted both admin and managed server , then also I am getting the same error.
I need your support to resolve this problem as I am able to access the site , which is on production.
The same sever was working before but today when I tried to deployed the web app changes which was a small change(Included a coulmn in my jsp file) .The managed server is started generating this error. Now even if I rollback the changes and try to deploy this , it is still generating the same error
If Managed server is at different host and Admin server running at different machine.
Go to AdminServer logs and review the AdminServer.log and check in case any errors related to something like unable to check config.xml.orgfile because file have root permissions(it happened when someone started Admin server by root). check all the files at Admin Server under /config and see if any file have different permission. Change the permission on this file and restart the server and it may works. it might have happened because Admin Server was started by root( mistake) instead of oracle that own the domain.
Make sure your target name is correct in your WLST deploy command.
start managed server using the command
nohup ./startManagedWeblogic.sh 'instance_name' http://adminserverurl:port &
It should work perfectly
I was trying to build the chromium source for the chrome remote desktop host and chromoting web app in linux. I followed the instructions from here and here, and the build was successful.
But the problem is when I add the chromoting webapp as an extension, it starts, asks for authorization, but after that shows:
Error: invalid_client
Examining the request details, I got client_id=dummytoken and believe this is the problem. So my question is, why this is happening and how can I solve this?
Another problem is when I try to start the chrome remote desktop host process, it stops with the following message:
...
Launching host process
['/opt/google/chrome-remote-desktop/chrome-remote-desktop-host', '--host-config=-', '--audio-pipe-name=/home/diptap/.config/chrome-remote-desktop/pulseaudio#7e4d6b70aa/fifo_output', '--signal-parent']
wait() returned (6794,26112)
Host process terminated
Failure count for 'host' is now 1
OAuth credentials are invalid - exiting.
Cleanup.
Terminating Xvfb
....
Why my credentials are invalid? Are these two problems are related? I got them according to the steps mentioned in the links.
This is first time I am building chromium or any chrome app, I may miss something obvious.
ok so I just figured this part out. Stuck at the next stage. I shall help you move forward.
I assume you compiled the chromoting webapp yourself. the credentials from the google cloud console dont seem to stick when you build it. I had to manually add it later.
Go to the folder where the app is located and modify plugin_settings.js as follows
remoting.Settings.prototype.OAUTH2_CLIENT_ID = 'YOUR CLIENT ID HERE'
remoting.Settings.prototype.OAUTH2_CLIENT_SECRET = 'YOUR CLIENT SECRET HERE'
and now you should be able to get past that stage. Infact you will now be able to access remote machines. enabling remote access to this machine however is posing me a few small problems. let me know where you get to
I am getting the following error when I try to browse either the Central Administration or the Web Application:-
Unable to connect to database.
Check database connection information and make sure the database server
is running
In the event log, I have the following error entry:
The description for Event ID ( 27745 ) in Source ( Windows SharePoint Services 3 ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: #50071: Unable to connect to the database SharePoint_AdminContent_a9991124-7852-4cc2-8a15-470a061b7a0d on svrhspuneet. Check the database connection information and make sure that the database server is running..
Please help me resolve this.

Hi Puneet try running the sharepoint configuration wizard again. your problem will get resolved.
I am having issues with a content deployment. It was working fine on Friday morning. When we tried to run a deployment on Friday evening the content deployment failed with an error of "The remote upload web request failed".
I've been Googling things for a while, it's not an issue with a file size or destination server name error.
The Event that's being thrown is:
Id: 4958
Description: Publishing Content deployment job failed. Error: 'System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (500)...
I have done some tests with other deployments from this authoring server:
When I tried to deploy this site to a new site collection (in the same web application) on the destination farm, it failed (same error).
When I tried to deploy a new site collection (from the same web collection on the authoring farm) to a new site collection (in the same web application) on the destination server it deployed just fine.
I have limited the site "Specific sites within the site collection" down to just the root site for deployment. This still fails. There are no files large enough to exceed the cab size.
Can anybody point me in the direction of some other things to look for? I haven't found much info on this Content Deployment error, when it is throwing a 500 error in the Event Viewer. Thanks.
'System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (500)' seems to indicate that you're facing some sort of an internal (web) server error. At least HTTP error code 500 get's me that idea.
Is the rest of the web server functioanllity of that particular server working correctly?
HTH
Could be a red herring, but have you tried restarting the Indexing service on the server you are deploying too ?
I had deployment issues in Sharepoint a while back, where this resolved it.
