I have created customized menu and toolbar in MS Excel. I wanted to show this menu and toolbar to specific document only. When I open any other xls file, it shows that menu and toolbar.
MS Excel 2003
How to do that using vba-excel macro or any other way to do that?
If you need more information, please ask me.
Thanks :)
OK - so this website will help you:

It actually works in Excel 2007 also, but adds the menu under the Add-Ins tab.
You basically need to access the code for ThisWorkbook in the VBA application. From there, you can modify the Application.CommandBars object to do what you need.

I want to open the 'Insert Hyperlink' menu programmatically without right clicking the cell.

this link shows the way to achieve this in vba, is there a similar way for opening hyperlink menu in Excel office Add-in?
There is not yet an Office JS API similar to the Application.Dialogs API in VBA that can be used by an add-in to open Excel dialogs. Please consider logging a request for this API in the Microsoft 365 Developer Community.
An alternative might be to have the add-in provide UI similar to the Insert Hyperlink dialog either in the task pane or in a dialog.
I have a macro-enabled excel workbook that has a custom menu with different buttons that work beautifully - used Custom-UI editor for this.
When I try to create a new Macro that runs and starts a custom menu with custom menu items, it does not want to work.
If I create a new macro-enabled workbook without a custom menu (iRibboncontrol items), then the menu code works.
Is there a way to have both the iRibboncontrol Custom Ribbon AND a custom menu? If so, please can someone assist?
Update
Figured out that Page Break Preview is the reason why my custom right-click menu breaks.
Any suggestions on how to get it working?
Is there anyway to make a macro that can click buttons in the tool bars of Excel? I'm using Excel 2010.
Here's how you can record a macro, which will capture your actions.
For Excel 2010:
http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-record-a-macro-to-automate-tasks-in-excel-2.html
For Excel 2013:
http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-record-new-macros-in-excel-2013.html
In your case, to take this even further, you can do coded UI testing right from Visual Studio. For what you are trying to do, this is even better than only trying to automate a button-click to fire a custom add-in.
Here is a way how you can achieve it with excel 2010:
File->Options->Quick Access Toolbar.
in the "Choose Commands From" list you click "Macros". Select the macro and click add.
If you want change the name of the button you can click "Modify".
Hope it will help you.
I am in the process of creating a VBA add-in for Excel 2010, and I used the "Custom UI Editor for Microsoft Office" tool to create my own ribbon.
However, I would like to give the user the option to load my add-in without displaying the ribbon, or with different parts of the ribbon visible.
With menus, I know you can completely control them programmatically, but ribbons seem to work differently.
Is there a way in VBA to not load my customUI.xml ribbon tabs on startup?
Is there a way to remove items from (or add items to) these tabs at runtime?
here is a whole slew of help on this subject Awesome Ribbon Help. I think points 2 and 3 are of particular interest to you.
I have created a VBA in excel 2003 and save it in xla format. This AddIn add a new menu and some submenu in toolbar of Excel. All work well until I upgrade to Office 2007, then I open the xla file. No error message shown, but when I view the macro List, no items there. I open the Visual Basic editor. My old Project (named ML) is still there, but nothing in the Project tree, just default files as when add a new blank project.
I open the xla file with notepad, and my variable, function name are still there. Anyone has experience in this weird behavior, please give me a clue.
Thanks in advance.
Toolbar add-ins generally appear in the add-ins tab of the ribbon in Excel 2007. Make sure you have the add-ins tab displayed (if not you can turn it on under excel options).
If that still isn't working you'll need to go online and read up on altering the code to conform to the ribbon - there are a lot of resources out there should you need to do this.
