readymade miniforum for my website? - forum

hey guys,
i'm looking for a finished product that i can use on my website. just a really simpel forum, where people can register and then post questions or discuss something. i wouldn't even need topics or subforums. just one category would be enough.
i know there is stuff out there like phpbb forums, however most of that is too advanced for my needs.
regards and thank you for your help.

You can try http://www.ninjapost.com since it meets your needs of (1) simplicity and (2) ready made.

While phpbb is complex, it can be used for your purposes.
Wikipedia has a great list of forum software. Let me know if none of these work, and I will dig up my research on various forum systems.

Is there a publish add-on to translate google slides?

I am a history teacher and have been working to assist students learning English with class materials and work along with many of my co-workers. Although it has its issues, google translate is incredibly helpful. I had been looking for ways to translate slides efficiently when I found the "Quickstart: Translate add-on for Google Slides" page of G Suite Developers. Link Below.
I know a bit about code and was able to quickly follow the instructions (which were excellent) to set up the add on, but many of my co-workers may struggle with adding it to their slides.
Long story short here is the question:
I am wondering if there is an already published version of the page/Quickstart Translate add-on which people can use instead of setting up the add on manually? I have not been able to find one.
I'm running into the same problem and have found the same document as you. Have you thought about publishing the add-on to your domain only. You can do that and the link you have links to the documentation on how to do so. You may need to work with the Google Admin in your district to make it happen though. Good luck!

Python - Where can I ask for help or guidance without losing reputation

As per topic, are there any newbie friendly mentoring groups perhaps, where I can ask a specific code related question and get an answer specific to my code even if it is a duplicate? I would welcome any suggestions please.(I'm sorry, I have a Dyslexia and Asperger's Syndrome, I easily get confused when reading, therefore need some explicit explanation).
The Code Review community is good for specific questions about your code. The site is here in case you don't know how to find it. Since the community is about reviewing specific code you will probably get your question answered even if someone has posted code that does the same thing before.

Website in ruby using Sinatra/Padrino

i'm in engineering school and i'm very new in website development (not in my only did C language and algorithm) and i'd like to make one beautiful.
By searching, i read that using Padrino/Sinatra could be nice. I installed it, but i didn't find a tutorial which regroup all.
I'm so lost cause i find too much information but no good examples. In guides, i can't find anything on : how to design websites, how to make a menu...I think i really need examples or templates to start (a code to read).
Thanks
You can start from here: http://www.padrinorb.com/guides/blog-tutorial
It cover most of important concept of padrino and sinatra.
The best way I suggest is to look a bit into opensource websites, for example ours: https://github.com/padrino/padrino-web
On github there are thousands of websites built with padrino or sinatra, so you can find more less/higher complicated.
Here you can find a bigger list:

Any experiences with Web2Cal?

I need a calendar-widget for my website. This calendar needs to be very flexible. An option is to write it from scratch, but I think, if kept at a reasonable price, it would be a better option to buy the code.
So far I've come up with Web2Cal which looks great. I downloaded the free-version, to see how it would be to work with, but I feel like I'm running short on documentation. Does anyone have any experiences with this 'widget'? Is it worth spending some dollars on it?
Double bonus question:
Do you know of any better place to find documentation on Web2Cal than their primary website?
Do you know of similar tools, which you liked (commercial or free-to-use)?
Thanks in advance :)
[EDIT] If it makes any difference, the server code is being done i ASP.NET.
Did you try daypilot.org? that has a component for .NET
Web2Cal is certainly nice, I noticed that their support system is nice. They respond to all questions. Web2Cal is more flexible.
If you feel daypilot satisfies your needs go for it.
For some reason, I feel web2cal is more easy to customize and versatile than daypilot. To make up for the documentation, their support is pretty good. I guess that is true for all new softwares. So take advantage of that feature, post like 300 questions to them to get your work done.. ! saves you a whole lot of headache.

Rss feed for game programmer?

I was browsing this thread, which has good recommendation but a bit too general for me.
So, if anyone has a collection of nice game programming feeds, please share them. :)
(both general and specific topics are welcome)
Here are two I've used
DirectX forum feed and Summary of interesting resources
I used http://www.gamedev.net/ in college a lot, especially the NeHe Tutorials
AIGameDev.com: http://feeds.aigamedev.com/AiGameDev
GameDevKicks.com might become interesting over time - if used more:
