while running my qt application in linux, a tab focus appears on the selected
control- like this:
that doesn't happened in windows.
how can i get rid from this visual focus?
Try one of these:
Explicitly set the QApplication style to one that doesn't draw a focus rectangle on the tabs, for example plastique. This might break any custom style sheets. The native look and feel will be gone, too.
Set the QTabWidget or QTabBar focusPolicy property to NoFocus. The user won't be able to change between tabs using the keyboard.
Set the QTabWidget documentMode property to true.

Within Visual Studio 2017 I created an MFC dialog-based application from scratch. In the dialog editor I dropped a Tab Control on then used Add Variable... to create a data member of type CTabCtrl and added a couple of lines in OnInitDialog() to create some empty tabs. The result is here:
When I add content (dialogs) to the tabs, and the dialogs are smaller than the tab control, the white background looks especially ugly.
If I do the same in Visual Studio 2008 the background is grey, like the dialog.
My questions are:
Why did this change from VS2008 to VS2017?
What can I do simply to make the background the same as the dialog? My current fix is to derive from CTabCtrl, and handle WM_ERASEBKGND and WM_PAINT (as mentioned here) which is much more code than I want to support.
Something has gone terribly wrong with my VBE layout. I originally closed my Project explorer and was trying to figure out how to restore it when I made some changes under the window tab of the ribbon.
I've restored the Project explorer but I can't for the life of me reset my code window to display only the current module I'm working on. The resulting layout is hideous, truly atrocious, and difficult to work with.
disgusting VBE display
I've already tried resetting my registry key for VBA as recommended here to no avail. I believe I clicked on either Cascade or Tile Vertically to make the code block appear this way.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You've never hit 'Restore Down' before on the Windows controls? Click it again (it will now be called Maximise) to put things right.
Click the square box of any of the windows in the upper right corner for it to fill the window, and then you can navigate using the project folder structure to the left, or the Window menu at top. Windows can be dragged and "docked" at different positions. For step by step instructions on how to dock windows in the VBE, including video see this site, for example
Try setting the code windows in your layout to how you like them. Then add a module to your project, then exit Access. It seems to save the layout at that point.
You can then delete the empty module.
I have a QTreeView widget placed inside a QDockWidget:
I want to set the properties of the QTreeView, that it automatically fills the whole available client drawing area (similar as WinForms DockFill property).
How can this be achieved with the QT-Designer?
Note: I've been playing around with the QTreeViews sizePolicy properties. If these are set to Expanding (as is the default) the accepted answer works out out of the box.
In Qt Designer, right-click the dock-widget, and then select Lay out -> Lay Out Vertically from the menu. Or you can just click on the dock-widget to select it, and then use the equivalent layout toolbar buttons.
If you want to maximise the space taken up by the tree-view, select the first child widget of the dock widget (it will probably be shown as dockWidgetContents in the Object Inspector pane). Then scroll down to the bottom of the Property Editor, and reset all the margins to zero.
I recently made the switch to Android Studio as my default IDE for Android development. When designing my UI I normally use the palette in the design view to assist in arranging the widget on the preview screen.Recently something weird happened, It just disappeared and I can't seem to re-enable it. Normally I would see the little Palette button on the side but now its gone. When I open another project I see the palette but not show this current project I'm working on.
When I open another project in Android Studio I see the palette tab.
I've just figured this out! If you double click on your .xml file tab at the top it will maximize the designer window. Then on the left you can drag the window to shrink and it will reveal the palette. Then just click on the tab on the left to open the project window.
try the Design/Text tabs in the lower left of the layout window
The palette can be shrunk to 0 width. This can be expanded by hovering next to the left edge of the design window, and finding the right-most expand position.
If you have only the designer and the properties showing and the Properties is on the right, you can get the palette back by switching to a left or right view.
Right click on the .xml file tab. Select "split vertically". This will open another Design that shows the palette again.
Android Studio 2.3.3, and the answer I was looking for:
Window -> Restore Default Layout (Shift+F12)
First Close All The Tabs Then Open res->layout->activity_main.xml
you will able to see design tab at activity_main.xml
Try to switch between Design/Text tabs at the bottom left of the editor.
You must have something in the layout resource highlighted. I also had to compile without an error.
My solution was traversing
src->main->res-layout->content_main.xml
then open content_main.xml
You have to be in the 'Design' tab (as opposed to the 'Text' tab) at the bottom of the middle window (the one that shows the phone).
Can we change Command's background color of the menu in LWUIT ?
and how can I set an icon to the "Menu" generated Command ?
thanks
I will try to explain better than the other post. You can change the style of the Menu using and UIID.
There are two ways to do that.
Easy way. Use the LWUIT Resource editor and create in the Unselected tab, and UIID called Menu. In this UIID you should configure the background color as you wish. You can change more things (like text color, size of the font, etc)
Hard way, by code. Create a Style object and set it to the Menu.
