setting gauge in alert box in symbian - java-me

I want to set gauge object in Alert to show the progress but it is giving java.lang.IllegalArgumentException

Gauge label should be set to null when used within Alert:
For example:
Gauge gauge = new Gauge(null, false, Gauge.INDEFINITE, Gauge.CONTINUOUS_RUNNING);

Cannot properly set visible component

I'm trying to implement Menu with select box which sets to display or not component. I have this checkbox:

I get NPE when I run the code.
You can easely tell to your tab to be visible when you check the box in one line
yourTab.visibleProperty().bind(yourCheckBox.selectedProperty());
And just with this line your tabpane will be visible only when it's checked

Getting phone hearing volume with Java ME

Is it possible to get the value of phobe in-call volume from java me midlet? Changing of the volume is not necessary.

It is not possible to access the phone volume. But you can set your application volume or get the application.

How to make checkbox/combobox readonly in javaFX but not disabled.
I tried consuming onAction event but it didn't work.

Consuming all events like in code below works but I don't think it's a good solution:

You can set the check box to disabled but set the the look of it using CSS. If you are using the default style you can make the check box look 'normal' by setting full opacity.
checkbox.setStyle("-fx-opacity: 1");
It is probably a similar deal with the combo box.
You can override method CheckBox#arm() with an empty one:

The code is not working. SMS can't be received on the phone, SMS is sent through the emulator (JAVA Me SDK).
What settings should be done to receive the SMS ?

Not sure I fully understand the problem. But you need to read about PushRegistry.
So there are two types of push registration, static and dynamic.
The code example you have given uses dynamic registration. You will need to manually invoke this MIDlet at least once in order for the push registration to happen. (Aside: In your example you are doing this in the startApp method, this is a very bad idea! Push registration is a potentially blocking operation, and therefore should not be done in a lifecycle method such as startApp. You should do this in a new thread).
The alternative is static registration, where you include the push information in the jad. The push port will be registered when the MIDlet is installed, without the need to run it.
Finally, you say
sms is sent through the emulator
what does this mean? In order for the app to start you need to send an SMS on the relevant port number from another MIDlet (this could be on the same handset if you want).

nokia device vibration in a game using j2me

I want to make my phone vibrate when my game ends. I tried using
Display display = Display.getDisplay(midlet);
display.vibrate(2000);
but display.vibrate(2000) returns false and the device does not vibrate.
Can anyone help.
I am trying it on Nokia C7 device. (Symbian^3)
According to Display.vibrate documentation "The return value indicates if the vibrator can be controlled by the application." If you are calling vibrate during destroyApp the VM might be ignoring the vibrate request.
Try calling Display.vibrate before you call MIDlet.notifyDestroyed
Try this code and see if it works.
