Please help..Anyone know how can I make a chart to sum all the data of each week only if values are greater than 0? - excel

Basically I have a table like this:
Week | Value
1 | 2
2 | 3
2 | -1
2 | 1
2 | 1
3 | 4
3 | 2
6 | 4
7 | 1
I need a chart to show the sum of the values for each week only if the value is greater than 0.
so
week 1 --> 2
week 2 --> 5
week 3 --> 6
week 6 --> 4
week 7 --> 1
Anyone have any idea how to do this?

If you have Excel 2007/2010, you can use the newer function SUMIFS as below:
=SUMIFS(Week_Values,Week_Numbers,This_Week2,Week_Values,">0")

This is two criteria, so you either need an intermediate column, or an array formula.
Option 1 - Extra Column:
Add a 3rd column, which has =IF(This_Value>0,This_Value,0) (where This_Value is the cell for that row with the value in it) and then do your SUMIF on the week number to sum up the new column; OR
Option 2 - Array Formula:
For each week number as This_Week in its own cell: =SUM(IF((Week_Numbers=This_Week)*(Week_Values>0),Week_Values,0)) which you must finish up with Ctrl-Shift-Enter instead of just Enter. More on Array Formulas at cpearson.com and Microsoft.

When you have more than one condition you could use SUMPRODUCT (simpler than Array formulas).
In this case suppose you have the data you propose on the cells A1:B10 (with column names Weeks and Values in A1:B1).
then put in D2 the number of the week for which you want the sum (say: 2)
Then:
=SUMPRODUCT(($A$2:$A$10=$D2)*($B$2:$B$10>0)*$B$2:$B$10)
would do.
PS: be aware that you must esclude the column names from the selection of SUMPRODUCT (i.e. do not use $A$1:$A$10 in the above formula)

Subtotals in a column based on ranges in another column

Consider a table like the following:
WEEKNUM HOURS WEEKTOTAL
==============================
1 2
1 4 6
2 3
2 5
2 1 9
3 6 6
... ... ...
I am searching for a formula to use in the WEEKTOTAL column that sums those entries in the HOURS column that share the same weeknumber. I would like the actual subtotal entry to be added in the row that contains the last occurrence of each weeknumber (the entries are likely sorted by weeknumber). The other cells in this column can be empty.
I'm hoping this is possible using an ARRAYFORMULA, but I am not sure how to.

Assuming "WEEKTOTAL" cell is C1.
in C2 :
=IF(A2<>A3,SUM(OFFSET(B2,0,0,-1*COUNTIF(A:A,A2))),"")
and drag downwards.
Idea : use countif() to 'drive' offset() range. Which in turn will be the range for sum(). All only happens if the next column a value is different (IF(A2<>A3, .. ) ).
Pls share if it works/not/understandable.

Of course, you can replace the two instances of "Andrew" with a cell reference (one where you type a changeable name).
This just looks up the row in a curly-bracket array formed from the names and row numbers and uses FILTER to keep results to rows between +/-3 rows of where the target name is found. If you choose the first name (or any other name), you won't get an error; because even if the target name were on Row 1 and the formula goes looking for anything "greater than or equal to 1 minus 3, all rows will be greater than a negative number. Same on the high end. You just won't get a full seven names if there aren't at least three other rows prior to or after the target row.
this not the best solution but it will work , you can use a helper column 'D' that contains the following formula =if(countif(INDIRECT("B"&ROW()+3&":"&"B"&ROW()-3),"Andrew")>0,TRUE,FASLE)
and u can query from here like this SELECT * WHERE Column D = TRUE

Calculating the difference between two columns based on a match on two columns and displaying that result

I have a question regarding find matching values between two columns, returning the values adjcent to those column and then working ou the difference. The problem is, I can't use a Vlookup because the data that I am trying to find a match has duplicates. Here is the structure of the table:
ITEM | Stock_1 | sellable_1 | SKU | Stock_2 | sellable_2
1 0 2 1 0 1
2 0 9 2 0 2
1 0 1 2 0 1
Now, I basically want to say where Item and SKU match, return to me the matched values, along with the stock_1, sellable_1 stock_2, sellable_2.
So essentially, ill have this:
mathced | stock_1 | sellable_1 | sku | stock_2 | sellable_2
Is there a way of doing this on excel?

Excel function for comparing columns with repeated values

I'm using excel and have two columns (A & B) with values
I want to search for each value in Column A and return the position in Column B.
I'm using this formula:
IFERROR(MATCH("Values in Column A";"Array = Column B";0);0)
The results are:
Column A | Column B | Column C
1 | 4 | 2
2 | 1 | 3
3 | 2 | 4
4 | 1 | 1
1 | 2 | 2
| 3 |
It works fine if it doesn't encounter repeated values. However, I want it to encounter repeated values, so the formula should ignore the ones it was encountered before and go through the others. So the correct result should look like this:
Column C
2
3
5
1
4
Can you help me on this? Is there a VBA routine for this?
From the article Getting the 2nd matching value from a list using VLOOKUP formula, you can create a helper column to affix the instance number of each value, to create unique id's.
For example, in Column C, add the following function:
=A1&"-"&COUNTIF($A$1:A1,A1)
Note: The relative reference on the count range will cause the applicable range to grow as it is dragged down. The count of the items matching that cell in a range containing only that cell should always be one. As it gets dragged down to include other cells, it will increment accordingly.
Then add the same thing in Column D to get the instances of cells in Column B:
=B1&"-"&COUNTIF($B$1:B1,B1)
Finally, do the math you want to do in Column E like this:
=IFERROR(MATCH(C1,D:D,0),0)

Find two matching rows and display data from the thirt one (Excel)

So i have Two Sheets.
First sheet contains two columns
BRAND | LEFTOVER
The second sheet consists of two columns also.
BRAND | LEFTOVER (%)
So in case if the BRAND row value in the first Sheet will match the BRAND row value in the second i want to display the matching LEFTOVER (%) row value in the first sheet rows in the column LEFTOVER.
Kind of lost here.

The VLookup function searches for its first parameter (in this case the value of Sheet1!A2) in the first column of the range denoted by the second parameter (in this case the leftmost column of the range containing columns A and B on Sheet2)
It then returns the value from that same row of the range that is to the right in the columns denoted by the third parameter (1 is the leftmost column where the matched value was). So in this case we use the number 2 because 1 means column A and 2 is column B (which explains why we used a two column wide range for the second parameter - it needed to encompass the column the result was in)
This isn't the only way to do this, but it is the easiest.
As Jerry stated VLOOKUP is the simplest way to do this.
HOWEVER if you have multiple/repeat instances (rows) in BRAND, VLOOKUP will only return the first record (row) that appears in your data.
If this is the case, you will need to add either a unique identifier column; and/or additional criteria to differentiate between the repeat instances.
As an example column A is used as a unique identifier to differentiate between the 2 'Nike' rows.

I feel that you can use vlookup to accomplish your goals.
Let me explain it in a bit detail.Suppose you have two sheets as:
A | B | A | B
--------------------- | -------------------
1 BRAND | LEFTOVER % | 1 BRAND | LEFTOVER
2 X | Y | 2 X | =Vlookup(A2,Sheet2!A:B,False)
3 | | 3 |
Sheet2 | Sheet1
After this you can drag this formula for the entire range. This will automatically make the formula correct for the below cells as well.
Also, if you need to populate any other fields from the Sheet2 then you can also use the vlookup as an array formula like: VLOOKUP(A2,Sheet2!A:B,{1,2,3,4},FALSE)
Enter this as an array formula using Crtl+Shift+Enter
Here {1,2,3,4} stands for the columns to be fetched.
