I am going to make application on j2me using canvas. I want to take textbox or textfield on my canvas.
You can draw a basic textbox and display a string , and when it receives focus, you can switch the view to that particular textbox ,something like this
textBox = new TextBox(....);
Midlet.display.setCurrent(textBox);
This would create your data entry more robust and save you from the pain of implementing various keyboard issues yourselves
These items are only available for adding to Forms. Canvas is a class for handling lower-level events.
You have to implement your own textbox, and that isn't easy.Basic textbox would be a rectangle (drawRect) with text (drawString) inside of it.

I'm building my first Universal Windows Platform (UWP) App and am trying to implement the popular "Hamburger Menu" using the SplitView class.
Inspired by many samples, the items hosted on the SplitView pane are re-styled RadioButton controls, with a vertical highlight-rectangle, an icon and a text. The appearance is similar to that of the Groove app.
I'm now trying to implement navigation and selection using the keyboard, and this now bring a little focus-rect around the items in the SplitView pane. However, since the pane clips its contents when its DisplayMode is either CompactInline or CompactOverlay, the focus rectangle is also clipped, which is not the behavior a user would expect.
Please, can anyone advise on how to property display the focus rectangle in this situation ?
Just an idea, what if you set the width of all radio button's to be same as the CompactPaneLength property of SplitView. The default is 48 DIPs.
I have a TextArea in my application that actually takes no interactions from the user.
Is there a way to either
Remove the scrollbar entirely and let me handle what happens when the scrollbar would appear?
Use a different object to display text to the screen? I need to be able to append text, but I don't need it to be highlight-able or take any user input.
According to your needs, you need to use label.
If you need TextArea, to remove scrollBars, you can do the next :
Use lookupAll(java.lang.String selector) method to find scrollBars, and
call scrollBar.setOpacity(0.0) for each found scrollBar.
2a. Don't call setVisible(false), as visible property (I believe) is used to TextArea to control scrollBar visibility.
I am very new in j2me. I want to design following type layout and components.
Mean I want to arrange my items in gridview. And after clicking on each item I will move to another form.
I am using simple lcdui. Please suggest me how can I do this. Means how can I arrange these items in gridview and what items should I use here buttons or something else.

In J2ME you have two options for UI: Form and Canvas.
Forms are a very simple way to display information without dealing with the graphical side of things, where Canvas is a blank screen and you need to draw the objects and their behaviors.
There is a third way: the guys at Sun has created a framework called (LWUIT which stands for Light Weight UI Toolkit). This toolkit provides the simplicity of Forms and the UI control of Canvas.

I am using LWUIT Library. I want to add same long information of project on AboutUS FORM. I'm using label but information become lost. If I am not using TextArea then what is another Solution?

In Login Form, what should be used TextField or TextArea?
Label is not good for showing long information. because its not allow to show multiple lines. Better you can use with TextArea and set the editable mode to false. If you dont want to use TextArea means just start the ticker on the Label.
Use TextField for login page.
i want to have default text in a textfield which disappears when the textfield gets focus. similar to the google search box in firefox.
also with java me is it possible to set a background image for a display.
The answer of your second question is easy. Unless you use canvas, it is not possible.
AFAIK you cannot handle focus events on a textfield in J2ME so it is not possible.
