i have the typical cover page with the logining form that doesn't have the layout with the menu bar that the intern pages of the site have.
So i have this line in view.yml:
signinSuccess:
has_layout: false
As you know, in this way the .css are not loaded. So what can i do to load the .css?
Regards
Javi
Use a different named layout.
signinSuccess:
layout: "some_other_file"
Then create the layout file and voila.

I have a custom theme, the footer, header & home page are all working.
I have a main navigation that links to 5 pages.
I now need to set the style for these 5 pages - and the other pages that link from them (it's different to the home page) - one section of which needs an additional navigation menu on the left (main nav is top).
Would I do this in Visual Studio - or can it be done through the admin web interface?
What is the best approach?
Thanks.
You can add an additional navigation widget on a layer that is not the homepage. As for styling differently on different pages, you could do that many ways.
For example, you could check if the page you are loading is the homepage and load some styles to overwrite the default ones. That would be the easy way I suppose.
If you need a whole new layout for the homepage, you could check out this module on the gallery which lets you select a different layout to use for each content item. Never used it myself, but looks like it could be cool :) http://gallery.orchardproject.net/List/Modules/Orchard.Module.Downplay.Orchard.LayoutSelector
I know you can use layout filters for normal pages with urls, but upon errors the view changes while keeping the url the same, so I can't utilize a new layout based on the path. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Off the top of my head:
If you look in Core > Shapes > Views, you will see two files - one called ErrorPage.cshtml and one called NotFound.cshtml. Simply copy these files and paste them into your theme's view folder.
I have not tested this method with these particular pages, but I did do something similar with the LogOn widget.
Something to bear in mind is that the contents of these files will be rendered in the Content zone of your current theme.
I am using Orchard 1.4 and playing around with the Projection Widget.
One thing I am wondering about is how to control the positioning of the content on the Page.
I understand the widgets are placed in the designated zone, but what if I want to put the contents of the projection modules somewhere within the page content?
For Example :
Title
Some Page content here
Projection Module content
Some more Page content here
How do I do that?
Thanks!
You typically use placement.info to change the order of parts on the rendered page.
Sometimes I want to add some custom CSS or Javascript to a page but the HTML editor doesn't handle this gracefully, even when using text dialog.
I could use an alternate view but then I have to upload the view file to my host every edit.
Any ideas?
Ok, I found a module (Vandelay.Classy) that does exactly this.

We have a SharePoint Document library, where we store html files with links to external files. Samples:
mypicture.jpg.html
mywordfile.docx.html
mypdffile.pdf.html
and so on. Now by default all Files show up with the HTML Icon, referenced in the DOCICON.XML file. Thats of course correct as the .html extension shows, it is a HTML file. But we want the files to have different icons, based on their original file type.
Is there a way to automatically change the Icon
during rendering or
when we save the file to the library (via SharePoint API)?
Any other approachs?
Why not use a little jquery to change the icon during rendering? Each doc in your library should be contained in
<td class="ms-vb-icon"><a tabindex=...><img ... src="/_layouts/images/ichtm.gif"></a></td>
I think you can slurp that into an array, assign a new var that's just the href stripped of path/filename. and .html, and use that to replace htm in the src tag.
Could you not just edit the DOCICON.xml to add the ".jpg.html" and ".docx.html" extensions in?
For a full listing of icon files see all "ic*.gif" files in the TEMPLATE\IMAGES directory under the 12 hive. Unfortunately, this will not solve your problem, but this is where you can change it based on the extension, if you so choose.
Note that a blog I wrote a while back has a different focus, but does discuss where the icons come from: http://wiki.threewill.com/display/is/2007/10/14/External+Link+for+Editing+a+SharePoint+Document.
