I am trying to rewrite from
mysite.com/pokerbono/xyz
to
mysite.com/pokerbono.php?id=XYZ
Here is the code I added in the .htaccess:

What is wrong with this rule? I tried like 100 variations and always receive a 404.

Try including slashes on the front:

This works in my environment:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^qwe/([-_a-zA-Z0-9]*)$ qwe.php?id=$1 [L]
I had to disable Multiviews, now it is working fine :)

My ht access is set to pass 12345 to php script like:

and works perfectly but.. and there is a but, I would write my url so:
http://domain.com/12345/my-dog-is-very-fat
can you help to change my htaccess to works so? Because if I use /my-dog-is-fat or just / I get an 404 error.

You can use:

To have nice URLs I edited my .htacces file
domain.com/category/content
should be redirected to
domain.com/index.php?category=cat&content=cont
this works fine with this line
RewriteRule ^([^/]*)/([^/]*)$ /index.php?category=$1&content=$2 [L]
but
domain.com/category
should be redirected to
domain.com/index.php?category=cat
to display the contents of the whole category

Here page number will increase sequentially (page=1, page=2, page=3 .....).
"my-photos-folder" Can be anything like "my-images-folder" or "Nice-photos" etc..
What i would like to get:

I use these lines and localhost/showCategory/ is OK, localhost/showCategory/0/1 is OK,
localhost/showCategory/0/2 stays on the first page...(same 0/1) not good

Your order is not correct as far as i can see: you should start with the rule involving the most variables, and end with the one with the least.
