I'm new to Dreamweaver CS4 and making my first website. I've watched a lot of tutorials and they all just click the Preview in Browser button and they can see what their page looks like in Firefox/IE/etc.
But when I click Preview in Browser a new Firefox window opens up and it goes to my homepage and that's it.
What do I need to setup in order be able to preview in firefox?
THANKS!
I don't use Dreamweaver, although I have it as part of CS4. But I just now opened up the app, created a test HTML page, saved it, and hit F12 (Preview in Browser). And there was my test page. I honestly don't know what you could be doing wrong. I thought it might be that you didn't save your file, but you get a warning dialog if you try to preview without doing that.
After some playing around I fixed the problem myself.
First I had to go to manage site and edit the basic preferences on my website.
I had to make sure the 'URL to browse to the root of your site" is valid.
In my case it I had to add:
file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Linda/My%20Documents/website1/

I have a site with form fields that work well on desktop, the problem comes in mobile view. When I click on the form fields the page reloads, What could be the issue?
I suggest you look for the culprit javascript code that may be reloading you're page when the screen resizes.
It appears I had a script that automatically reloaded pages on screen resize, so if you experience such a problem, use developer tools to know what script is affecting the said page, go through it to find the culprit.
Regards.
I created a Azure Static website and uploaded some test html to test it out. And it worked.
But now I have uploaded some different content and those changes are not showing in Chrome and other browsers except Internet Explorer.
I linked this with Custom domain as well.
This is what showing in chrome:
This is what showing in Internet Explorer:
I cleared cache in Chrome and tried installing Firefox newly as well. But still showing the old content.
Can any one please help?
Update: when I use the URL like https://www.northernlightspictures.com/index.html then I can see the changes
Please try to use the feature Hard Reload or Empty Cache and Hard Reload of Chrome to reload your page, the step as below.
Press F12 in Chrome and Enabled the feature Disable cache
Click the right key of your mouse on the fresh button of Chrome, and then click the Hard Reload or Empty Cache and Hard Reload button, as the figure below.
Of couse, you can directly use the shortcut key:
For on Windows and Linux, Ctrl+Shift+R or Shift+F5. For on
MacOS, Cmd+Shift+R.
Please try to browse your website again in Chrome, as it is working for me as per your expectation. The way you see it working in Internet Explorer, its showing the same for me on Chrome and Firefox as well. "https://www.northernlightspictures.com/"
Please try to browse the application in "incognito window" i.e. private window.
I have to show a web project through a touch screen using Chrome in fullscreen and in Kiosk Mode.
People will be able to navigate a website in all its pages also pointing to external links. Since I don't want people to use a keyboard, I'd like to add a sticky button that points back to the home of the project and that is present in ALL the webpages that people open.
Can I do it with a Chrome Extension?
Do you know any existing solution that could solve my problem?
Many thanks! <3
For a VSCode extension i want open browser within VSCode not externally, wherein i can load some URL (https://developers.redhat.com/)
I tried looking into various options to achieve it in VScode extension, what i came across is with help of webview i.e 'vscode.previewHtml' we can pass html content which would be rendered with in VSCode editor tab, but what i have is url to load. Can pass it to iframe but i can't open it in iframe
Another option is to open it in browser but it opens external browser.
what i need is to open a browser within IDE (VSCode), experience should be similar to what we get for 'vscode.previewHtml'
or as we see in IDEs like eclipse where browser window is opened right inside IDE.
As we can see below
Please give inputs, suggestions
It's possible now without extension. Open command palette (CTRL+P) and search for "Simple Browser: Show".
This is how it looks:
In order to render your html you can use the WebView API:
https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/extensions/webview
Microsoft has an extension in development, Live Preview. I use it to view html codecov reports inside of VSCODE and it at least works for that.
You just search for it in extensions and add it to VSCODE
We have a asp.net web application which will be used in an intranet environment on IE 6. We want to change the default configuration of the browser so that it's always rendered without the Tool Bars, Menu Bars and Address Bar, just the browser window frame and the status bar should be present.
We were looking at the IEAK toolkit for IE6 but it doesn't seem to have the option of turning all this off though you can turn off certain menus and toolbar options.
Any ideas of how this can be done, is there a group policy setting or something that we can utilize here to get this done?
Thanks for your help.
You have to handle the showing of toolbars, address bar,... before the page is loaded, because it's built client side.
So to solve your problem, I think you should write the first page (Enter page for example) Then when use click on the Enter link you open another page using VBScript or Javascript to remove toolbars, address bar,...
Hope this helps ^^
Have you investigated Kiosk Mode?
Also, you're deploying IE6 at the wrong end of its lifecycle.
It also sounds like your requirement is for an app you're developing; mandating that the browser is configured this way for all sites might make the customers unhappy. If you want to know how to open a browser window without those things for your site, from your site, I'd suggest a repost to StackOverflow.
