Trying to add a color picker to a field in Dynamics AX 2009. Found an article providing some very simple steps for creating the color picker as a lookup, but I can't get it to work.
When creating the extended data type, the FormHelp lookup doesn't include the function SysChooseColor, but it will accept the value if manually entered.
After adding a field using my color picker data type, the form renders a string edit to the page with a lookup icon. However, upon clicking the icon, the lookup window that appears is empty. Tried with and without a valid color value (#AAAAAA) in the field.
Here's the reference I started with: http://www.axaptapedia.com/Color_picker
Thanks
Did you look at form JmgParameters?
On tab DisplayOptions you can find example of usage the color lookup form. See at element.colorLookup() method.

I am curious whether I can get a properties window for cells select in Excel. With "properties window" I mean the same on the Developer interface uses for properties of entities in VBA. I use AutoCAD a lot and have gotten used to being able to see and edit all attributes of an entity through the properties window. It would be quite handy if I had all info of a cell available in Excel too.
The content is displayed in the Formula Bar. The formatting can be displayed by touching: Ctrl+1:
This is not a complete set of Properties. (Comments are displayed by mouseover,etc.)
Sharepoint 2010I'm slowly making progress with Sharepoint, but have encountered a problem with Content Types and Word Quickparts.
What I'm trying to do:
I want a Content type to hold summary information for manuals and related documents that might be located in separate libraries. I want to display this information in a Table within Word (by setting up a template) using Word Quick Parts>Document property fields.This table would then summarise all the relevant fields and their related links at the top of a document that in turn summarises information about a particular system.This Word document in turn would be stored in a separate document library.
This all works fine for dates, text descriptions, check boxes, yes/no fields and drop down selections as I can find the related Word Quick Parts>Document Property
However, the "Hyperlink or Picture" Type fields are not present in the Word Quick Parts>Document Property fields. SoAm I completely misunderstanding what content types are for? orIs there a setting within sharepoint that would make these hyperlinks visible in the Word Quick Parts?or Is there a better alternate solution. Thanks!
Hyperlink is not available as property in Word Quick Parts.
Sadly, you can access to this field in Word when you click in the property icon. This will display all the SharePoint property of the document with the hyperlink field.
A workaround would be to create a simple text field and to put the URL of the hyperlink field in this field. (With Workflow or Event Receiver)
An another deep solution is proposed in this link :
https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/c7619237-baa1-4669-af65-0f0a39223aad/sharepoint-metadata-and-office-quickparts-hyperlinks-are-not-appearing-in-the-quick-part-list?forum=worddev
This is about create two properties, one for the text, one for the url. Then to arrange it in Word in order to get an hyperlink.
Since Microsoft seems to be removing a lot of its legacy web pages, the content of the above link is copied below:
a. In the sharepoint list, you will need two text properties, one for
the link text and one for the display text. Let's call them hllink1
and hldisplay1. For a sample document, put some text in each of these
properties.
b. in the template,
insert the hllink1 Document Property and the hldisplay1 Document Property. This is a temporary move that will let you change thevalues
of these properties without displaying the DIP
insert a HYPERLINK field as follows
use ctrl-F9 to insert a pair of field code braces { }
type HYPERLINK "" between the {}, so you have
{ HYPERLINK "" }
then insert another copy of the hllink1 Document Property between the ""
{ HYPERLINK "the Document Property for hllink1" }
c. select the Hyperlink field and use F9 to update it. When you show
the result (Alt-F9), you should see a clickable hyperlink where the
"display text" is the same as the link text
d. Click somewhere inside the display text, and insert the hldisplay1
Document Property.
e. Carefully select the remainder of the display text and delete it.
You should stil be left with a hyperlink that can be ctrl-clicked in
the usual way.
f. Modify the texts in hllink1 and hldisplay1. However notice that,
as a maximum, the hyperlink display text will update automatically.
The tooltip for the hyperlink does not update automatically.
g. Select the hyperlink and press F9 to update it. The tooltip/link
text should update
I have a custom publishing page layout I have created. The content type behind the page layout has a lookup column pointing to a document library where I store images. Basically, the pages I am creating from the layout are 'articles' and I have an associated image with each.
As you can probably guess by now, I want to display the lookup image on the page. However, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this. I have been inserting columns into the page layout via controls, but I'm not sure how to format it to look at the source document behind the lookup column. I am wondering if it is possible somehow through controls, and if not this way, if it can be done through modifying the XSL of a webpart. My last option which I don't want to use but I know it would work is a workflow (on new item creation, copy Name (FileLeafRef) into a hidden single line text field I coult utilize).
Does anyone know how to format a lookup column to display Name (FileLeafRef)?
Help is greatly appreciated!

First off I am new to FM but I have a good handle on the basics. What I need to do is this - in a contact information type layout I want to be able to alter the layout based on a specific field. Ex. When the record is brought up, the background of the layout will change colors for a client, another for vendor, etc.
I tried to change a label based on a field, with no success. My guess is that the layout is static and only the data fields change.
We use FM Pro.
Thanks,
Mark
FileMaker layouts are static, but there are still some things you can do to alter the layout based on the values of fields:
Calculation Fields
If you want the data shown in an area to change, you can use a Calculation field. A typical example of this would be a status field. To do this you would add a new field to your table and use enter a calculation on that field like:
Case (
IsEmpty(myTable::myField) ; "Please enter a value for myField." ;
myTable::myField = "wrong value" ; "Please enter a correct value for myField." ;
"Everything seems okay."
)
Conditional Formatting
To make things like background color change you can use a conditionally formatted field. I will typically add an empty numeric field (for this example we'll call it emptyField) and set it so that it can't be edited during modification.
If you place emptyField on your layout, below all the other fields and disallow the user to enter the field in either Browse or Find mode, you can then use conditional formatting to change the field's color.
Portal Hiding
You can use this technique when you want some elements of your UI to disappear when they aren't needed. For example, if you want a "submit" button to appear only when all of the records on a field are filled out.
To use this technique I will usually create a Calculated number field, called ReadyForSubmit, on the original table and give it a logical calculation like:
not IsEmpty(field1) and ... and not IsEmpty(fieldN)
(Note that the value of the above function would be 1 or 0)
I will then create a new Support table in my database and add to it a field One with a calculated value set to 1.
I will then make a relationship between myTable::readyForSubmit and Support::One.
On the layout, create a portal with one row. Put your Submit button in that layout. Now, when readyForSubmit calculates to 1 the button will appear. When it calculates to 0 the button will be hidden.
Hidden Tab Browser
Finally, you can use a tab browser where you set the title font size to 1 point, hide the border, and control the browser programmatically. You can use this for having different field arrangements for different types of records. To do this you would first give an Object name to each tab of the tab browser, say Tab1, Tab2, Tab3.
Then you would add a script, goToTab, with the logic for when you want to go to each tab. Say:
If (myTable::myField = "corn")
Go to Object (Tab1)
Else If (myTable::myField = "squash")
Go To Object (Tab2)
End If
You would then use Script Triggers to run goToTab when On Record Load.
With the release of filemaker 13 there may be another way to do this. You could use a slide control, name the panels in the control, and conditionally switch to the correct panel based on the record type.
you would drop the appropriate fields for the record type in each panel.

We are using jqGrid for ASP.Net version 3.6.6.0. We are facing a problem in search/filter as described below:
We have created a jqGrid using ASP.Net (C#) having column likes Name ,Status etc. There is a hyperlink on Name column.
We are able to successfully populate the grid
User applies search on a column say “Name=’XYZ’” and grid is updated according to search results.
User clicks on Name link and is taken to details page of that Name.
Now when user clicks back from that details page ,search is lost.
We were able to persist the searched grid details using session however we are not able to set the searched text back in search text box.
i.e we are not able to set the value “XYZ” in search text box of Name Column.
Need your help in knowing which property or method is to be used to set the Filter text box through code.
If you use Advanced Searching the searching parameters are saved in the postData.filters property in the JSON encoded format. If you use the Single field searching another properties of the postData parameter of the jqGrid save the filter information: searchField, searchString, searchOper. So what you can to do is to same the filters in the cookie. To restore the searching filters you can examine the cookie and if needed extend the postData parameter with the corresponding properties (see here for details).
If you want that the searching filters will be not only displayed if one opens the Searching Dialog you can set additionally the search:true parameter of the jqGrid.
I recommend you additionally read the answer on the close question.
