I'm using the Electric eel version of Android Studio. While editing the XML part, the Design part disappears instantly and does not come back without correcting the code. I did not encounter such a bug in the Article Fox version. Can you help me?
I cleared the cache but still no results.

You can see that i dont see screen where is running code
Android studio does not show me errors and
API is 22
You are using a bad version of constraint layout I would use the constraint layout from the androidx Library
androidx.constraintlayout.widget.ConstraintLayout I think is the tag
You can try to invalidate Caches and restart like this:
File -> Invalidate Caches/Restart...
After you have done it try to reopen android studio and check your preview.
Another solution that can help you is to switch from the Text tab to the Design tab, this is also the recommended option for working with ConstraintLayout + you can see your preview in your design tab.
And if all of that didn't work you can always reinstall android studio again, this may be the less recommended option but it will most likely solve your problem.
Older versions of Android Studio had a Refresh option in the layout preview in the IDE, but in v2.2 it has vanished. I am finding repeatedly that I update drawable bitmaps in the project with updated files, that new version is not reflected automatically, and I do not see the preview. Problems like this are so common with Android Studio, it's such an utterly infuriating IDE and so flaky, despite the speed it is advancing.
Where did the refresh option go? I can't believe I'm having to actually ask this, but maybe I missed it somewhere obvious!
My current Android Studio installation (linux-64bit) is showing a pop-up saying there is a new Version of Android Studio 2.
I am unable to download the current stable of Android Studio.
The download-link (on big green button) reffers to the Terms and Conditions. If i Accept and klick the button (which is showing no text, which is also strange) it redirects me to the index page again.
Here is the index page: http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
Have they withdrawn the release or something? Does anybody know a direct-link?
Thank you for any help on it
You need to have a little patience and try to check for update from time to time until you'll be able to update Android Studio from within the IDE. I encountered the same issues as you but after a while it worked well.
My advise is to wait with the upgrading to 2.0 and stick with your 1.5 version because a lot of people here have problems with Android Studio 2.0 (for now it is kind of buggy, maybe later Google will fixed some issues...).
As an example of my problems with Android Studio 2.0 I've posted recently, check this: After upgrading to Android Studio 2.0, I cannot change the screen orientation in the Android emulator, but of course it is your decision to upgrade or not :) .
P.S. I'm a linux user too.
As this is entirely a new version, you will not be able to update (or upgrade) from within the app.
You will have to download the installer and install at the same location replacing your Android studio 1.5
I did the same thing and is working for me.

I have a problem with my Android Studio I just updated.
There is no device renders in the design tab, even if I create just a blank aka 'hello wolrd' activity as you can see on this screenshot.
I am absolutely sure I have no running background tasks, my Gradle build is finished. I tried to clean up and then to rebuild project, nothing changes. Am I missing anything?
P.S. I had no problems rendering device on Android Studio 1.3.
Ok, I got it.
I had to update my SDK to 23st version and choose this version while rendering device.
Very simple and truth be told obvious way.
I just opened a new project in Android Studio, but the preview screen isn’t working. It should show “Hello World!” right now, but it’s blank. When I go to other projects I’ve completed, the preview doesn’t show up there either.
I’ve reinstalled the program and I’m googling ways to fix the problem. If anyone has had this problem and fixed it, or just has an idea of what to do, I’d greatly appreciate the help! I will attach a screenshot of my Android Studio. Android Studio w/ preview problem
Thanks
Have you checked your preview window in android studio ?
I am asking to you because I was also in the same problem a month ago.
If yes, In The Preview Window. There Will Be A Error Symbol On that window.
Tap on that it will show you the reason for preview error. Fix it and now it works perfectly in my pc.
Edit 1:
Exact Solution after your comment
Tap On That Blue Dot
It would tell preview fidelity issue for the session. Mute The Fidelity Issue For The Session From Same Window And You Are Good To Go.
