Photoshop zoomed in "frame" - reference

I'm new to photoshop. I want to make a "frame" (think a comic panel) with a zoomed-in view on the part of the image. Any changes to the layers should be reflected in it. And that frame should be visible in the finished render.
Ideally I want to be able to rotate and distort that view.
Basically I want a monitor on the foreground that shows a zoom in on the part of the image. And i want that monitor to automatically reflect any changes.
Just to be clear, i don't need Droste effect where the screen shows itself recursively. I just need it once.
Just copy and resize method doesnt work for me because the image is interactive with many layers/variants, and I don't want to resize and crop 200 times.
Is that possible? What tools do I use?
Thank you!

I see two very different questions here.
Reflect your changes in another layer
Convert the layergroup into a SmartObject
Copy the SmartObject
Add a Layermask to the SmartObject Copy
Fill the Layermask with Black
Paint with a White Brush where the SmartObject Copy must be vissible
Unlink the mask from the SmartObject Copy
Click the SmartObject Copy
Transform the SmartObject Copy
To edit the SmartObject simply
Dobbeltclick the SmartObject
Make edits
Save and close the SmartObject
I have made a short video (3 min) to show you how:
https://youtu.be/9yO4rG3Q16w
Reflect your changes on a second monitor with a different view on the file
If you want to work on the image on one monitor and show the image in a different size on an other monitor then use this Photoshop funktion:
Window > Arrange > New Window for [filename]
This will give you a second view on the same file and every change you make on one view is imidiately reflected in the other view. Drag that second view to the other monitor, zoom, move and voila!

Designing for full screen

Summary: I'm having a big problem with layout design in my project... I want to set it up in fullscreen mode, but I can only set it in a specify resolution, because of that, when I click to maximize my program, it goes like image #2... I tried to anchor buttons in "Top,Left,Bottom,Right" but the mess is bigger (image #3).
What I need: I want to make a single layout for a fullscreen mode in any screen resolution...

Image 2 below
Image 3 below
When I use fill mode...
If I understand right and you want everything to stretch when you resize your form then you should dock your tablelayoutpanel (fill) and the same with your buttons.

Cadence Virtuoso Layout L phantom objects

I have a cell (call it A) which is used once in a hierarchically higher cell (call it P). When I place A in P, its borders are rather larger than the actual content of A. When I descend to A and zoom-fit, it is way zoomed out, indicating there is something present way out on the edges.
I may have dragged objects there at one point but currently there is nothing visible. It is driving me crazy in terms of aligning objects, etc.
Is there any way to clean this up or something?
If I recall Cadence used to have a problem with leaving steiners behind when you moved routes. They are not visible but the db treats them as real objects for the bbox calculation. According to Cadence, deleting the objects should not harm anything. Open the layout in edit mode and paste this code into the CIW. This will delete all the steiner objects in your layout. If this was the root cause after saving you should see the bbox return to normal.
cv=geGetEditCellView()
foreach( item cv~>steiners
dbDeleteObject( item )
)
This thread may be considered "dead," but hopefully this helps.
It is possible the layers that are not visible are turned off.
To turn them on, go to the layers pane on the left. (If it is not there you can turn it on by going to Window —> Assistants —> Layers)
You can then click the drop down arrow in the top right corner and click Edit Valid Layers.
Then, click all valid in the Set Valid Layers popup. Click Ok.
Finally, check the Used Layers Only checkbox in the Layers pane. Look for any layers that weren't there before that you don't need.
Usually it happens when you draw the cell in LayoutXL, particularly when you insert pins.
Layer and purpose in these pins are selected separately for some reason, that is why it is easy to enter "impossible" combination.
Nothing happens, then you do it again and continue drawing. But there are several invisible squares that will continuously frustrate your inner perfectionist. You do the following:
Open this cell's layout, switch to Virtuoso window and enter:
lppList=list()
then:
foreach(shape hiGetCurrentWindow()~>cellView~>shapes if( (member(shape~>lpp lppList)==nil) then lppList=cons(shape~>lpp lppList)))
You have created the list with all layers in this layout, you can view it by entering:
lppList
You'll get something like this:
(("NW" "drawing")
("NP" "drawing")
("weird" "guy")
("M1" "pin")
("M3" "pin")
)
If you find a weird guy in this company, just enter the following command:
foreach(shape hiGetCurrentWindow()~>cellView~>shapes if((shape~>lpp == list("weird" "guy")) shape~>lpp = list("prBoundary" "drawing")))
If you see that some squares, labels (or whatever unseen before) appears as prBoundary, just delete it, save, and your layout will be small and shiny again.

Visio stencil/shape text box is hidden - need shown

I've downloaded and am using the VNX 5300 stencil/shape from https://download.emc.com/downloads/DL38235_VNX_Visio_Stencil.zip (I had to create a free account to download it).
I can hit F2 to edit the text, as normal, but it will not display. On other downloaded shapes/stencils, if I right-clicked on the shape/stencil, I would have the option to hide/show shape text, but it doesn't exist on this one. I have looked in the shapesheet data, and "hide text" is already set to false. In developer options, the text is not protected.
Is there a way to force the text to display? I hope to learn how to fix this problem, rather than band-aid it and merely add a second text box.
This stencil was created oddly. I had to right-click and ungroup from master. Then I had to, again, right-click and ungroup a second time. After the two ungroup actions (from its original format--I did NOT group it to anything, whatsoever), I was able to edit the text and see it, but cannot move it. The shapesheet then showed the "text transform" options so I can pin it, but again, cannot move it to the location I want.
I then had to completely frankenstein and butcher the shapesheet text transform to barely get it moved where I wanted. Adding a text control handle was not possible.
This is a faulty stencil made by EMC, apparently, as I have not had these problems with any of the other brands' stencils I've downloaded.

Shrinking images to fit the browser window?

I was just wondering if anyone could help me. I'm creating a full width layout website, and I would like it to adjust with the browser window as it is expanded/contracted, aka everything will shrink a little and move over when the user pulls their window in/ will go back to normal when the user pulls it back out.
Say I have a grid of three 300px images, all lined up in a row, and I want them to just shrink a little, and stay in the row format when pulled in. How would I achieve this?
I'm not even sure where to start...
Help appreciated!
In HTML when you add your add width="20%", height="20%" for example this will expand or shrink your text according to the size of the screen.

iOS view size and position hard-coded only?

I'm new to Macs and iOS, I got my app running on webOS, Android, and WPF/Windows. In all cases the size of, say, a 'widget' to display a bunch of text, can change depending on the dimension of the text to be displayed, as well as the position can be up against another widget. As the text size changes, the position will change so that all the widgets are crammed together nicely.
I've been searching for this capability in IOS4 in books and on-line, and it's starting to look like in iOS, you have to actually calculate the size of the text to be displayed in ViewText and then change the dimensions of ViewText, which of course then bumps other Views around to accommodate this size change. It sounds like a nightmare. Isn't there some other way to do this (like all the other GUIs can do) to size based on content, and to position relative to other Views like stacking them all together whatever size they are?
Same with ScrollView, it looks like the size of the window you actually see has to be manually specified as well, instead of, say, taking up the entire viewable window and then you can populate the ScrollView with a bunch of sub-views, some of which are below the initially viewable area? I tried this in Xcode4, but so far, haven't gotten it to work.
Similarly with creating an object with a NIB and instantiating that NIB onto an existing View, how does it determine where to position this NIB onto the existing screen?
Thanks!
Paul,
For the scrollview you need to set the bounds so it fills the screen or the area you wish it to occupy, it will then automatically generate scrollbars based on the layout within it. In the land of iOS you do have to do extensive layout work such as positioning and sizing your controls but you can also use the UIAutoResize (if I remember correctly) masks such as if they are anchored to a size, fill the area, etc. It's a little complicated to learn initially but you'll get the hang of it.
As for text you just need to use the right control, I believe what you want is a UITextView and set the options on it as needed.
When you view a XIB it's going to layout initially as you have it, again, you need to position your controls AND set their anchors (autoresize masks) so they adjust based on the screen size (phone vs. pad) and orientation: landscape vs. portrait.
