I have been using Genymotion on ArchLinux for a long time But now I ran into a problem
When I want to edit the resolution of the any genymotion devices, this edit is not applied
Also, the Android version of all devices is 0.0 for some reason
When I try to turn on the android device, it gives this error for me:
The version of Android used by Samsung Galaxy S9 is no longer supported.
To enjoy new features , please create a new one.
It seems to be a permissions error or something similar ...
how can i solve this problem ?

I have an issue all of a sudden where I am getting a weird black flickering at the bottom of the screen (as shown in the video below). I had no problem earlier also this happened after I removed android emulator and rechecked it (Reinstalled it ) under the setting “Tools” ->” SDK Manager” -> “SDK Tools” tab.

Also, I have noticed the screen goes most of the part blank when I am not touching the screen.
I had the same problem recently after create a emulator with API level 33,
Then I've tried to used API level 31 and emulator works normally.
I tried giving more memory to my emulator and the issue disappeared.

It seems there is a problem with the x86_64 images. If Software GLESS is turned on then the flicker goes away but the graphics are little laggy.
x86 images works well smooth but out-dated.
I just installed Android Studio first time for a while and noticed the flickering problem right away. I have NVIDIA GPU which most likely contributes into this problem. In the AVD options inside the Android Studio device manager I tried switching the Graphics setting from automatic to "Software GLES 2.0" and it fixed the flickering. No way using software acceleration is optimal in any way but it could be a workaround until the root cause is fixed.

I had a same issue in my new laptop. I have fixed it by changing one parameter in the emulator's config file.
Go to C:\Users\USER_NAME.android\avd\Pixel_5_API_31.avd
Edit the config.ini file.
Find the "hw.gpu.mode = auto" and change it to the "hw.gpu.mode = guest" and save the changes.
Restart the emulator.
Same here. After one of the latest Emulator (in SDK tools) updates virtual device with API level 31 or above show same issues. Devices with API level 30 or below work fine.
Tried to completely clean and re-install Studio and Video drivers. No effect.
So since it started right after update i believe it's Emulator component issue.
I just switched to a Pixel 5 with API 33 and it seems to have resolved my flickering problem..
When im run android studio, or run emulator for android studio with manually or with cmd, always get bluescreen.

I happened to get this issue because of my old PC with Lesser RAM size(4GB) and to rectify it, I connected my Android phone to PC for debugging/running apps from Android Studio.
You need to enable USB Debugging in your phone for that purpose.

I had almost same problem. When I tried to install my app in emulator(Ram 8gb), my emulator crashes but kept running in background. As a result, I was unable to shut down my pc and have to disconnect power for shutting down.

Sometimes it happens beacause of outdated drivers, try updating your drivers to latest version, and update the windows 10 to latest version. Also try by deleteing your current emulator device and create new device by enabling software renderer. For lower end pcs like yours I would recommend to use real device instead of emulators ans use ssds for better performances.
Brand new to app development and am having a bit of trouble activating an Android Virtual Device (AVD) for Android Studio (Windows 10). I am trying to install HAXM but receive the attached message.
Upon going into my /installed programs/ directory to uninstall Microsoft Hyper-V, the program is not listed. Would the Hyper-V program be listed under another name, or rather, could anyone please provide feedback as to resolving this message? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
For AMD system, you can use Windows Hypervisor Platform (WHPX) under Windows 10 since Version 1803:

From the Windows desktop, right-click the Windows icon and select Apps and features.

Ok there are 2 ways of solving this ,
First you can go to BIOS and disable the Hyper V and enable the VT x for intel. If you had not the VTx or with disabling Hyper v nothing has solved then come to Second solution.
The second is there is not a solution available for you and your computer just like me. Your cpu and computer cant install HAXM which mean you cant install and run emulator , but hang on, google has added new property to emulators to run without HAXM and you need to install those package of SDK api which has Amd virtualization or non HAXM, also even this one has not helped me, so if you were like me then you can use physical device for testing or installing linux instead of windows and use Hyper v to run emulator in android studio instead of HAXM, and i prefer Lubuntu cause of speed it will gives you if you wantes to install.
I've Installed the newest version of Android studio, including the newest version of HAXM, ndk, sdk and whatever other related dependencies it installs. Intel Virtualization bios setting thingy I can't remember the name of is enabled and I have no trouble in virtual box and such.
I created an empty activity and tried testing it on the phone, works perfectly. Then I tried it on the emulator and there is a problem when it is hardware accelerated. It just opens a white window. The android studio displays 0 errors and thinks it ran the app properly. The graphics card I have is a gtx 1060 6gb. When it is software accelerated it works but is so slow I would rather use a chisel on a rock to draw the application usage.
So if someone knows a fix it would be nice.

Well I have discovered that in order to solve the issue you have to go to the sidebar menu click More>Settings>OpenGL ES Renderer and(in my case) set it to Angle(D3D11) or Angle(D3D9) or Swiftshader. After that you simply restart the emulator and the issue should be gone.
For me Desktop native OpenGL and Autodetect based on host(which probably sets it to the first thing) don't work and leave you with a white screen.
In case someone finds this useful, you can set software acceleration as below and this solved the issue for me on Mac OS. (OP also mentions it works with software acceleration)
Tools > AVD Manager
Select virtual device
Click on Edit (pencil icon for me)
Click "Show Advanced Settings"
Look for Emulated Performance - Graphics
Select "Software" option
Current version of the emulator (27.1.3) doesn't work for me. The emulator just shows a white screen. Even playing with the gpu in the .ini configuration didn't work.
Once I downgraded to 26.1.4 (https://dl.google.com/android/repository/emulator-darwin-4266726.zip) the emulator started working again.
It seems that the Android Emulator is somehow conflicting with the NVidia Web driver on Mac OS. I had the latest NVidia Web driver (378.05.05.25f04) installed and I was having this same problem - the white screen whenever I used Desktop Native rendering (or left it at the automatic default which selects that as well).
I tried the Swift Shader as well, it works but the performance is abysmal!
On a hunch, I switched back to the OS X Default Graphic Driver from the Nvidia Pref Pane in Apple menu settings, and the Desktop Native driver is now working great after the computer restart!

I just installed Android Studio (v1.4) on Ubuntu 15.04 (64) and am unable to connect to my Moto G (Android 5.0.2) to run the application I made from a tutorial.
When asked to choose a device, I get the following choice for my device:
TA9290IPXK [NULL] No, minSdk(API 14)>deviceSdk(API 1) TA9290IPXK
I already enabled USB debugging on the device. when running 'adb devices' I get " ?????????????? no permission " and after killing and restarting the adv server it displays the proper serial ID but when going back to Android Studio it still does not work.
Has anyone encountered this issue ? Can someone provide a suggestion of solution please.
An obvious reason for that error message “No, minSDK(API 14) > deviceSDK(API 1)”, which I didn´t find so far mentioned neither at StackOverflow nor by other forums:
If the AVD Manager option for a virtual device “Emulated Performance - [ ] Use Host GPU” is unchecked, the Android simulator works just on "API 1" level :-(.
So if you try to execute a standard Android app ( e.g. "API 14" level ) with this setting,
The Android desktop screen is not displayed but just black screen with “android” in white letters.
When executing “Run / Device Chooser / Choose a running device / Compatible” again, there is the error message “No, minSDK(API 14) > deviceSDK(API 1)”, if “minSDKVersion 14” is set in the project configuration file “app”.

Why should you ever try to run the Android simuator with unchecked option?
Well...If your Win8 or Linux computer really provides OpenGL2 graphics, you may operate the simulator with default setting “Emulated Performance - [x] Use Host GPU”.
But if your Win8 or Linux computer just provides OpenGL1 graphics, as my legacy Win8-32bit notebooks “ASUS Eee PC T101MT” and “Dell Vostro 1000” with standard Windows drivers by Microsoft, the Android Simulator crashes by the error message “APPCRASH”, “Fault Module name: libOpenglRender.dll”.
And so by unchecking the option, you can´t run Android apps requiring a usual API level ( API 14,... ) :-(.

Ok I found the solution
Turns out I had 2 ADB installed in different Paths and Android studio was getting one of them that was not the correctly configured. I also had not properly set up the udev rules.
Here are the step I took to get it fixed
1. Remove ADB that was installed manually
2. Modify the udev rules to add the devices (It turns out that both my Nexus 7 and Moto G were not Asus and Motorolla respectively but Google inc instead. I acquired the right Vendor ID code using "lsusb" It returns XXXX:YYYY the vendir iD is the XXXX
3. Add the location of the right adb to path ( /Sdk/platform-tools/)
4. Then rebooted all of the devices (computer and android devices) and it seems it worked.
Sorry for not giving out all the terminal lines that were entered, being novice with Ubuntu it may have been a lot more confusing than helping.
Hopefully it can help someone that is in the same situation.
You have to set to connect as camera(even after usb debugging is already enabled)

i already found the solution to this. in order to solve this one, is go to Gradle > Build.gradle(module:app) > and then change the minSdkVersion that is compatible with your phone. Hope this help! :)
