In Android Studio, hardware buttons not working in AVD skins - android-studio

Scenario 1
In Device Manager, I create Nexus One (or Nexus S) emulator with the default skin. The skin displays hardware buttons, the corresponding layout files have parts/.../buttons/... entries, software buttons are not displayed. But clicking on the hardware buttons does nothing.
Scenario 2
In Device Manager, I create custom emulator with custom skin. Near the skin selection controls, I press the How do I create a custom hardware skin? link. At the bottom of the page there is a link to page 2. I create my custom skin with hardware buttons as described on those two pages. But clicking on the hardware buttons does nothing.
Of course, I can use the buttons on the AVD toolbar, but it's less convenient.

Hardware buttons not showing on Android Emulator (ALSO, App Switcher button (⌘O) from side panel not responding)

I concisely described the problems in the screenshots; read the below description IF needed.
The bottom bar on the Android Emulator showing the three hardware buttons (square/circle/triangle = Overview/Home/Back, respectively) suddenly disappeared. They were there the night before. Next morning, poof! Gone.
Ok, so the three buttons don't show on the emulator. So then I use the SIDE PANEL which ALSO shows the hardware buttons. HOWEVER, the square Overview button (⌘O) (aka the App Switcher button) in the side panel DOESN'T WORK. This means I can't open the app switcher now (where you see all apps running in the background).
So the hardware buttons on the screen have disappeared, and the side panel (as a backup) that also has these buttons -- well, ITS square Overbutton button (⌘O) doesn't work, so the side panel is not helping either.
I used the AVD manager to add a replica of the device, and it fixed the issues, but then after some days, the same issue occurs again. I'm using MacOS.
Any suggestions? Thanks much!

Tl;dr: in AVD, edit your device, click "Change" on your hardware profile, then un-select "Has hardware buttons"
For me, this was all I was missing, and after a Cold Boot of my device the 3 hardware buttons showed on the bottom of the emulator again.
Official Android Studio documentation on hardware profile properties:
Input: Has Hardware Buttons
Select this option if your device has hardware navigation buttons.
Deselect it if these buttons are implemented in software only. If you
select this option, the buttons won’t appear on the screen. You can
use the emulator side panel to "press" the buttons, in either case.

How can I remove the status bar in Android Studio activity preview

I find the "Preview" view in Android Studio super useful to see how my UI will appear on the device. The preview almost matches my in-app layout.
Our app has a fullscreen UI, which even hides the status bar. This works great on the device, but the preview insists on displaying the status bar. I haven't been able to figure out how to remove it editing an activity ui.
To be clear, I'm not talking about the App Titlebar, or the system buttons (home, back, etc).
Change your layout theme to NoTitleBar.FullScreen.
With Android studio version 3.3.2:
In Previews screen, Apply NoTitleBar.FullScreen theme to your layout.

How to Use Pager Tab Strip on Xamarin Forms

I want to implement tab view to my xamarin forms application. But xamarine tabs gives two diferent tab views for android and IOS. I want to Use the android tab view on both my android and ios applications as shown in the below picture. Is this possible.

Is there any way to emulate perfectly a OnePlus device?

I'm trying to debug a problem that seems to be happening only on OnePlus devices, unfortunately buying this device is not an option for me, so I've been looking on Google how to emulate an OnePlus device but without any success :(
Is there any way I can reproduce the hardware specs and software characteristics on a GOOD android emulator??
Short answer: No. You can not run a Cyanogen OS device on the Android Studio emulators. However, there is a workaround where you can make a oneplus one clone that works on android:
Click on the “Run ‘app’” button
In the dialog, click the button in the bottom left corner with the text “Create New Virtual Device”
Click the button with the text “New Hardware Profile” in the bottom left corner
Enter the specifications and the name (Some examples: OnePlus 1 specifications, OnePlus 2 specifications, and OnePlus 3 specifications)
Click Finish
Click Next
Choose the system image (It will show a dialog, if doesn’t then skip this step)
Click Next
Choose your preferences
Click Finish
There's no way to perfectly emulate any phone. Running Nexus 5 emulator would bring you a 'device' with some proper values like screen coordinates or Android system version, but it won't make you sure that if it works on an emulator of Nexus 5, it would work also on the real device.
As I know, OnePlus is using Cyanogen OS (so it's not the same as you would find on Nexuses or Samsung devices), so one opportunity is to find a cheaper option phone with this custom Android system like Willey Fox brand devices.
Also, check your app on Genymotion emulator - it also uses a custom Android system based on CyanogenMod, but as you already know, the best way is to check it on a real device.

Fixed it, finally:
By:
Click on the Widow that is floating around by CONTROL A.
Then mouse over and drag that windows Tab (the tab with the title of the used within Android Studio).
Drag back to the pace where the tabs in the tool window in Android Studio.
