I'm trying to debug a problem that seems to be happening only on OnePlus devices, unfortunately buying this device is not an option for me, so I've been looking on Google how to emulate an OnePlus device but without any success :(
Is there any way I can reproduce the hardware specs and software characteristics on a GOOD android emulator??
Short answer: No. You can not run a Cyanogen OS device on the Android Studio emulators. However, there is a workaround where you can make a oneplus one clone that works on android:
Click on the “Run ‘app’” button
In the dialog, click the button in the bottom left corner with the text “Create New Virtual Device”
Click the button with the text “New Hardware Profile” in the bottom left corner
Enter the specifications and the name (Some examples: OnePlus 1 specifications, OnePlus 2 specifications, and OnePlus 3 specifications)
Click Finish
Click Next
Choose the system image (It will show a dialog, if doesn’t then skip this step)
Click Next
Choose your preferences
Click Finish
There's no way to perfectly emulate any phone. Running Nexus 5 emulator would bring you a 'device' with some proper values like screen coordinates or Android system version, but it won't make you sure that if it works on an emulator of Nexus 5, it would work also on the real device.
As I know, OnePlus is using Cyanogen OS (so it's not the same as you would find on Nexuses or Samsung devices), so one opportunity is to find a cheaper option phone with this custom Android system like Willey Fox brand devices.
Also, check your app on Genymotion emulator - it also uses a custom Android system based on CyanogenMod, but as you already know, the best way is to check it on a real device.
Hope it will help

I concisely described the problems in the screenshots; read the below description IF needed.
The bottom bar on the Android Emulator showing the three hardware buttons (square/circle/triangle = Overview/Home/Back, respectively) suddenly disappeared. They were there the night before. Next morning, poof! Gone.
Ok, so the three buttons don't show on the emulator. So then I use the SIDE PANEL which ALSO shows the hardware buttons. HOWEVER, the square Overview button (⌘O) (aka the App Switcher button) in the side panel DOESN'T WORK. This means I can't open the app switcher now (where you see all apps running in the background).
So the hardware buttons on the screen have disappeared, and the side panel (as a backup) that also has these buttons -- well, ITS square Overbutton button (⌘O) doesn't work, so the side panel is not helping either.
I used the AVD manager to add a replica of the device, and it fixed the issues, but then after some days, the same issue occurs again. I'm using MacOS.
Any suggestions? Thanks much!

Tl;dr: in AVD, edit your device, click "Change" on your hardware profile, then un-select "Has hardware buttons"
For me, this was all I was missing, and after a Cold Boot of my device the 3 hardware buttons showed on the bottom of the emulator again.
Official Android Studio documentation on hardware profile properties:
Input: Has Hardware Buttons
Select this option if your device has hardware navigation buttons.
Deselect it if these buttons are implemented in software only. If you
select this option, the buttons won’t appear on the screen. You can
use the emulator side panel to "press" the buttons, in either case.
If you're using AVD through Android Studio, I would check out the answer to this question, it seems to have more updated screenshots than a lot of answers on here: Android Studio emulator missing hardware buttons
Android Studio version: 2022.3.1
I have "Lenovo K6" phone. I already made a project, when I press run button, android studio does not show my device on that window, what will be the solution?
open your settings, go to about section and look for build number and tap it repeatedly till you see a toast saying developer mode enabled.
Then, search for the developer option in settings. inside there, you'll find an option saying something like "enable USB debugging" turn that on.
Then, connect your phone through USB while android studio is running. the screen might show a prompt asking for "allow debugging?" or something similar.
now try again.
If you still don't get it, search for how to enable USB debugging on android.
allow USB debugging in your mobile, to allow the USB debugging you need to click on Build number 5 to 7 times on your mobile phone settings then go to developer option then enable the debugging.

MediaPlayer no longer working on the emulator since r10?

Closed 3 years ago.
I ran my application and I can't get the sound working on the Android Emulator.
I checked and enabled the audio playback boolean in the Eclipse AVD Manager.
I also went into the sound options in the Android Emulator and put them up (no sound while putting them up).
I checked the box that says all selections will make a noise(still no sound).
My application uses the MediaPlayer class and I am running win7 x64 if that has anything to do with it.
Help is appreciated.
For OS X the Android Emulator uses the settings for "Sound Effects" so this is what I had to do to fix my issue:
Click the Apple icon in the top left, then click on System Preferences
Click on Sound
Click on "Sound Effects"
Set "Play sound effects through" to "Selected sound output device"
Set the Alert volume almost at max.
Somehow this had changed to use my monitors instead.
In Ubuntu 16.04, start the emulator and go to the Ubuntu → System Settings → Sound → Applications. Uncheck the mute checkbox and set the cursor at the middle position.
The solution on Ubuntu 16.04 consists in going to the System Settings → Sound → Application tab.
Then, unmute the Qemu-system … and increase the volume
On Debian 8 , you should open qemu-system after android emulator launching
my apps working fine with sound suddenly it stop sound because of some code changed. all other app sound also stopped then i did below step now it is fine
try below
go to android emulator
1.close the program
2.setting -> sound -->volumes ->increase sound value in music video games and other media
it will work
On On Kubuntu , you should increase the playback stream of qemu-system after android emulator launching
I had the same problem : in a terminal,
type pavucontrol (when emulator is running)
and another application using sound, that works, is running too (on pause).
Check if quemu-system and the other application use the same soundcard... In my case, this was the problem :quemu system was using a non working internal soundcard.
Try pressing F6. I had a hard time to figuring this out.
I was able to connect my device to the android studio but when I removed HDD and shifted to SSD to make it perform better it is not recognizing my device although it is working smoother than before.
It is showing that it is not able to recognize the driver software in ADB interface settings but whenever I click on my device it says driver software is completely updated.
here are the images linked below:-
enter image description here
whenever I click on realme7 device inside portable devices(in device manager) it shows that driver software is completely updated.
please help me for the same.
Try this link
Here they have mentioned phone model-wise drivers, download the one which is required.
Then go to Tools -> SDK Manager -> SDK Tools Tab and select the Google USB Driver & click OK
Check this for the same
I want to develop for Google Glass with Android Studio. I'm really new to it. When I connect Google Glass to my computer over USB, Android Studio does not recognize it ("no connected devices").
Android Studio recognizes when I'm connecting my mobile over USB, and my computer recognizes the glasses, but Android Studio cannot find the connection to the glasses. I of course enabled debugging on the glasses, and it's connected to my mobile. What am I doing wrong?
I had the same issue. I posted about it earlier this year on the Glass Explorers forum to ask for some help. I got a couple of responses, tried them, and this is what worked for me, posted by Kevin
"Are you running Windows? If so open the device manager and see what Glass is listed as, if it has an exclimation point right click and update driver software choose to search your computer for the driver and point it too the sdk>extras > google_usb folder (assuming you have updated the drivers in the sdk manager recently.
After this is done reboot the pc plug your Glass in let it install the drivers and if it is working properly you may get a prompt on Glass to trust this computer for debugging.. If this didnt work.
Go back to the device manager, glass should now be listed as an android adb device. Now click on this and choose to update driver software, then instead of pointing the the google_usb folder, click on the part below that "let me pick from a list of device drivers on my pc.." When you do this choose composite usb device and then it should recognize the Glass in adb. "
I hope this helps.
EDIT:
Another thing to try:
You need to make sure that you have the right drivers. The issue for me was that I needed to open the SDK manager and download the USB Drivers - go try that.
