I'm stuck and cannot escape. Whenever I click on the icon and select Quit, it does not quit.
This prevents me from logging out or shutting down the machine.

I have used 'shutdown.exe /r /o' to restart windows 11 in advanced mode. The screen opens where I can see the Troubleshooting menu. I wish to click on the Troubleshooting menu after startup. Is there a way to do this?
I am new to .net Platform. I just downloaded Visual Studio 2015

Whenever I press F5 to start the IIS server, It shows stop button
Whenever I press Ctrl + F5 to start the IIS Server, It doesn't show the stop button
I have no idea how to stop it. is there any shortcut. I even tried shift + f5
Please help me out
You can only stop it when you start debugging (aka F5). Control+F5 is start without debugging.
You cannot stop IIS in both cases. You just close the browser, which without the stop button you can manually.
In Addition to Lex Li's answer, you can stop running site in IIS express like this-
Go to notification are on taskbar > right click on IIS express icon > go to your running site (under View Sites option) > choose 'Stop Site'

On two Windows 7 and a Windows 8 computer, all up to date, when I press F12 in Internet Explorer it launches the debugger, says (Not Responding), and then leaves artifacts on the screen until I restart the computer. This has been going on for a couple months.
Here is an example:
I know several other people who are experiencing the same problem on different machines.
Apparently this is the best Microsoft can do. Is there any way to prevent F12 developer tools from instantly crashing and leaving artifacts behind on your screen?
When running and debugging server side code with Eclipse, and you activate a breakpoint being hit by visiting a url, posting data, etc. Eclipse window will automatically activate over top of your current window.
Not only that, but if your focus is in another workspace, Eclipse gets moved to that workspace as well.
Preferences
Run / Debug
Uncheck Activate workbench when a breakpoint is hit
I'm starting to write WinPhone apps in my VS 2012 Pro with Windows Phone 8 SDK installed properly. When I hit F5 to launch a project in the phone emulator, VS tries to launch the WP emulator, but I get the message "You don't have permission to run the emulator" from "Windows Phone Emulator".
The message box also contains the checkbox "Join the Hyper-V Administrators security group" which is checked by default. If I press the Retry button, the UAC warning appears as expected, and the WinPhone emulator is starting. But this annoying message appears again and again after closing the emulator. Sure I leave it opened for debugging, I mean every new session of work at the pc.
Yes, the message doesn't appear if I launch VS with admin rights, but that's not a normal process. I'd like to get rid of this message when I launch VS as usual with non-elevated privileges. Is it possible at all? If so, then what should I do?
Adding myself to the Hyper-V Administrators group manually did not work - until I read the message under the "Join the Hyper-V Administrators security group" checkbox. When I signed out and logged in again, the problem was solved.
But I wonder why this action isn't performed automatically even if we leave the checkbox ticked...
