I'm trying to sync page changes from my local environment to the UAT environment using the Staging module in Kentico. I've set up the source and destination servers but when I try to sync a specific page it throws the following error.
No Route Value Found No DynamicRouting assembly tag was found for the
class CMS.Root, could not route page
am I missing anything here? We are using Kentico 12 MVC
Please check the URL of the destination server. You may have provided URL of your UAT MVC application, however it should be the URL of your UAT CMS Admin site.
I think though Dmitry is correct, I think your staging module is pointing to the wrong environment.
If it is pointing to the admin, you may have the mvc only module installed on the admin, but I don't think it would even compile at that point.

In my IIS, I have created "App1" as my site name and setup everything.
Now when I browse one of my web file from IIS, the URL for that page is something like "http://localhost/Folder1/Default.aspx".
But back to last time when I was using window 7, the URL that I can get is "http://localhost/App1/Folder1/Default.aspx", now I'm only getting "http://localhost/Folder1/Default.aspx" after I upgrade to window 8. I'm not sure if it's window 8 that causing the issue or anything, but I need advice on how to include the site name when I browse the file so that I can get "http://localhost/App1/Folder1/Default.aspx".
The reason why I need to include site name is because my entire project solution is calling files and web services that including the site name since long time ago. Without the site name, I can't run the program at all because I can retrieve data from any web service
Can anyone advice me on how to include site name in IIS?
I tried Directory Browsing but seems not the solution in my case. I try search for how to include site name in my domain but usually end up directing me to Directory Browsing.
FYI, my application pool setting is as below:
.Net CLR Version: v2.0.50727
Managed Pipeline mode: Classic
Really appreciate any help on this.
Thanks
Just in case anyone face the same issue like me, I found my solution.
Yesterday I just thought of instead of searching Google for so many hours looking for how to include site name in my URL, I remove the App1 application in my IIS. Then, in the physical directory of my App1, I created one new folder call "Main" and I move my App1 folder into Main.
When I create a new application in IIS, i create new application as App1 but point the physical application path to "Main". This way, when I browse one of the web files in IIS, I can see something like "http://localhost/App1/Folder1/Default.aspx" which totally solve my problem, and my program can run properly now.
Although I still do not know how to include site name into the URL and why the site name is missing. But at least this solve my issue now
I 'm currently using imageresizer.dll ver3.3.3 in my ASP.NET MVC 4 web
project hosted on IIS7.5. I have included the imageresizer.mvc.dll in the
bin folder and added the mvc shim plugin.
Everything works properly in my local machine. But in production machine I
'm facing resource not found issue. The production machine also has ASP.NET
MVC 4, IIS7.5 and the bin directory contains both dlls and web.config file
is as follows:
In the production machine.
1. When I execute the image request with .ashx, I get the resource not
found exception.
2. To verify if the image really exists, I removed the .ashx and the
image was loaded without issues. So something I 'm missing on imageresizing
part in my production machine.
3. I tried to diagnose the issue by executing /resizer.debug.ashx but
here too I get resource not found exception.
4. I tried omitting the .ashx extension but with width paramter in the querystring. The image size isn't affected.
I 'm totally unsure what are my next steps to address this issue. Can anyone
please guide me what I'm missing?
Thanks and Regards,
G Hemant
I followed the installation instructions to the best of my ability and I had the same issue as you regarding the /resizer.debug
I am not using MVC as a whole; however, I am using routing and have a RegisterRoutes method in my Application_Start section of the global.asax.
This line, added to the RegisterRoutes method solved my issue with not being able to get access to resizer.debug.ashx:
routes.Ignore("{resource}.ashx/{*pathInfo}"); //ignore ashx files
Now I have access from Cassini as well as iis7.
I have an ASP.NET MVC 4 app that I'm trying to deploy as an Azure Web Site. My app works fine in my local environment. When I publish the site to azure though, I receive the following error:
Multiple types were found that match the controller named 'Root'. This can happen if the route that services this request ('') does not specify namespaces to search for a controller that matches the request. If this is the case, register this route by calling an overload of the 'MapRoute' method that takes a 'namespaces' parameter.
The request for 'Views' has found the following matching controllers:
MyApp.HD.Web.Controllers.RootController
MyApp.Web.Controllers.RootController
Why would I get this error on Azure but not locally? I can't figure out how to get around it.
Thank you
I've had this problem before. Let me explain why it happened.
We added a new project to our solution, let's call it NewProject. This project had been set up incorrectly so we recreated it as NewProject2. Once the project was setup and working, we renamed it to NewProject. This is when the problem started. Under certain build configurations we were getting the same error as you. It was complaining about ambiguous controllers with namespaces NewProject and NewProject2. Doing a find-in-files returned no matches for NewProject2. The was thoroughly frustrating. Given that this was only occuring under certain build configurations was a big sign that the problem was with left-over references in the bin folder(s). Doing a clean didn't seem to fix the problem. The ultimate fix was to do a complete code purge. DLLs typically do not get committed to source control. I backed up and deleted all code and got it back from source control. The issue no longer occurs.
It's worth mentioning that this issue was not global. It only occurred on certain developer machines. I figure the ones that were affect were the ones that had gotten latest from source control during the process of create1/create2/rename2/delete1.
Try doing a clean and rebuild in the affected build config.
Try manually removing your bin and obj folders.
Try a complete code purge
I have a new Orchard site which successfully runs the setup and database configuration when running locally. But when I tried to deploy it to the actual server and point a browser to the site, I get a "Directory Listing Denied" error.
Anyone seen this and fixed it?
I figured it out. Running on a shared web server, if IIS is configured for my site to use the default app pool, Orchard is precluded from reading its own files. (Remember that Orchard uses libraries and needs deep read/write access to subdirectories).
So the solution was simply to configure the site to run in its own isolated application pool.
Looks like this on my site's control panel:
Hope this solution helps someone down the line.
My guess is that you deployed the whole source code instead of src/orchard.web.
When I deploy my web part locally everything is fine. The web part is registered as safe, and is completely usable.
When I deploy the wsp to another server the web part comes back with the following error although everything appears to be deployed correctly (and the SafeControls appear within the web.config). :
Web Part Error: A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. The type XXXXX could not be found or it is not registered as safe.
It is almost the exact same issue as this question. The only difference being that when I look at my web.config on the server I am deploying to I DO see the SafeControls.
Any thoughts on things that I could try to fix the issue? Server settings, how I package or deploy, etc.
I was able to solve my issues by manually removing the solution from the GAC. Then I just tried to add the solution again and everything works well.
I had added the web part in question after the initial upload of the solution (sorry about leaving that part out of the description). Before doing this I was trying to retract and delete from the Central Admin then retry the addition. Apparently this didn't actually delete the solution from the GAC.
The site was using the old version of the solution which did indeed not include a SafeControl for the new web part. Once the old version was removed the addition of the new version went without a hitch and all is well.
Thanks to all for their suggestions.
