I am new to programming.
I have never coded and I have never used Android Studio and GitHub.
Sorry if I ask stupid questions.
I downloaded this project in ZIP on GitHub: https://github.com/raghavtilak/Paint
When I open it in Android Studio, I get an error message:
"The SDK path 'C:\Sdk\Sdk' does not belong to a directory.
Android Studio will use this Android SDK instead : 'C:\Users\jane\AppData\Local\Android\Sdk' and will modify the projectct's local."
What should I do to solve this problem?
Thank you in advance.
When you open the project in Android Studio it should ask you to change the SDK path automatically. If it does you can just accept it and it will change the path without you noticing and without any problems.
If it does not ask you, just search your SDK Path (on your computer) and change it in your local.properties in the project panel (or the windows explorer) in android studio.
I want to add a Run/Debug Configuration for an iOS Application for a Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile application in Android Studio 4.1.2. However, there seems to be a problem with the configuration for iOS.
In the screenshot below you can see the problem. In the dialog "Run/Debug Configuration" Android Studio complains about
Error: Please specify Xcode project location in xcodeproj property of gradle.properties
Using the "Fix" button does not solve the problem. Android Studio just adds an additional xcodeproj to gradle.properties and the complains about a duplicate parameter.
I also tried different paths (relative and absolute) for xcodeproj. No luck.
If I remember correctly, it used to work out of the box. A new Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile project was automatically configured for Android and iOS. I'm not sure what changed. Probably something was updated.
Is this a bug with the KMM plugin? Or is there something I can do on my system to fix this?
don't do that with Android Studio.
Just open Xcode, click on 'open another project...', locate to the iosApp folder that named it when creating your project on Android Studio.
after that, just click run and have fun.
If the project doesn't run right away even on opening it from Xcode and shows the shared framework is missing, Then try generating the shared framework for iOS platform using terminal. Navigate to the project folder and execute
Command: ./gradlew packForXcode
Now the shared framework should have a xcode-frameworks product and you should be able to build and run the project through Xcode.
I fixed it by downgrading the Kotlin version from 1.4.30 to 1.4.21. You can check this thread here. To downgrade, download the version you want from the plugin store and choose the install plugin from disk as in the picture below
Upgrading Android Studio version to 4.2.1, KMM plugin version to 0.2.6, creating new KMM project with KMM plugin, the problem can be fixed automatically.
If you don't wanna use Xcode:
Look like there is some IDE issues in this versions, one option would be to downgrade the Kotlin version.
What worked for me was to download the latest Canary Android Studio and setup my KMM project there.
Hopefully soon this will be stable for the next versions
Same as here: https://stackoverflow.com/a/66941077/3117650

I have recently come up with coding in dart and using flutter ...
after longtime spending for setting up SDK and stuffs for dart and flutter the only thing I need is an android studio set up and running SDK to it.
I'm actually running on Kali Linux and when I open an android studio I give it the directory file of the Android SDK but it says the folder is empty and there is no SDK (Sth like that ...). But I have downloaded the SDK recently... By the way when i click on next it warns me that the android emulator directory is missing!
Do the emulator or SDK needs a kind of root access !?
is there any way to connect the android SDK to vscode instead of an android studio?
Do android emulator only work on Ubuntu and no response for Debian based ?!
You don't need to download the SDK separately android studio will automatically install it, and you can even choose with version of the SDK you want.
If you haven't gotten that option when installing. Reinstall it form the website!
Not some stupid PPA or app market https://developer.android.com/studio
I'm pretty keen on getting to run my first app in a emulator in Android Studio. But to be able to do that I need to set up a AVD and for that I need to download a system-image through Android Studio.
How ever it looks like my space on my root is too small for that:

Is there a way to change the download folder inside Android Studio?
Or is the only way to solve this by increasing the space on root in some way?
Best regards
Fredrik
Turn out that I needed to upgraded to Android Studio 3.1.2 and since I use a too old computer I am aiming to run my app on a real device.
Best regards
Fredrik
While importing projects in android studio ,this window comes and never disappear. please help. I am new to android studio
Looks like one of your dependencies that Android Studio is trying to download is offline. Check out this related SO post:
Android Studio stuck on "Gradle: resolve dependancies '_debugCompile'" or 'detachedConfiguration1'
