I purchased domain on dreamhost. and I deploy my application on other server. How to connect the dreamhost domain to other server ip address?
In goddady, there is an option to specify ip address on other server.
but I can't find a those settings on dreamhost DNS.
Anybody has a similar experience?
I found an answer. we need to set DNS only at the Hosting tab on
Dreamhost/websites/your_websites.
and Go to the DNS tab
First, click the Refresh DNS, it may take a few minutes
and then click the Add Record Button, and set your IP address on hosting.

I have a Bluehost VPS account and I need to point my external domain which is purchased from porkbun to my VPS server. After some research, I have changed the A record in the domain registrar to my VPS server IP and changed name servers to Bluehost servers(which are ns1.bluehost.com and ns2.bluehost.com). Currently, when accessing the domain I'm seeing the default Bluehost page, but it does not seem to be connected with the server as it does not display any file I'm updating in the root folder. Is there any step I'm missing? I have tried changing nameservers of the VPS server itself by editing DNS settings in the domain, but any of them does not seem to be working. Any help on this would be highly appreciated.
If you are trying to 'browse' to your VPS server then you would need to add an 'A' record type into the DNS for the domain name.
For example, if you are browsing to 'test.mydomain.com' and your VPS IP Address is '192.186.1.15' then you should add an A Record into the domain zone file with the following detals:
Host Record - test
Points To - 192.168.1.15
These details are taken from the following page:

I registered domain on the WHM and create a new user cpanel with the domain, the domain is added to the cpanel. But when i try to browse the domain name it getting server DNS address could not be found.i updated the name servers with my server name, but nothing changed.
when i try to go through myip/~newuser it going fine to the site file, but with the domain name it's not.
You have a DNS issue in this case. Please check your DNS zone with a tool like intoDns:
https://intodns.com/yourdomain.tld
See if you get any errors there. If you do, then you have issues with your DNS configuration. Be sure that you have create the parent DNS servers for your domain if you want to use the DNS from WHM (the parent DNS servers should point to your WHM server ip).
Try using external services to query your DNS server to see if it actually works (like MXToolBox etc). Or you can use nslookup or dig right from your WHM server by connecting via ssh.
I'm totally new about hosting website and I register a domain in network solution and hosted by hostgator. I tried to register my name server by going to Domain name server option in network solution and enter my name sever's name. However,by going to leafdns.com, I found out that the name servers don't pointing to the right ip addresses as provided by hostgator welcome email. Besides, network solution does not prompt you for a ip input for those name servers, and the domain still point to a construction page.
What would be the problem?
It's not enaught to set up Name Servers for domain, you need add records in it. If you setup hostgator hosting NameServers for your domain, just park your domain on hosting panel and NS records add apear automatically.
I have a dedicated server in my office and it has a static IP on internet, now i want to connect this server to a domain and setup mail server on it.

I have some questions about this but can't find answer by searching, please help me:
If i had to create my own dns server to handle it? if so how to run dns server
to create mail server that reliable by gmail and other mail-servers i had to provide RDNS to my server, how?
Thanks in advanced
Assuming that you have registered a domain already, you add an A record, which specifies hostname and ip address of your server. You don't need to install your own nameservers, if you use services of a DNS hoster. Many registrars, where you can register a domain, also offer such DNS hosting services. However, regardless of who runs the nameservers which are authoritative for your domain, you will still need to add that A record to your zone on the master nameserver. Depending on used service, you may then have to update SOA serial, and issue an update notification to slave nameservers, so they know that they must ask master nameserver for the updated zone - but most DNS hosters do this step automatically.
For reverse DNS, you add a PTR record to reverse zone. The netblock owner is in control of the reverse zone.
The nameservers authoritative for reverse zone are generally different servers than those you put hostname and ip address of your server on, and you will have to use facilities or cooperation offered by netblock owner.
I've been working in an company where there is an DNS server which could resolve our company network's address. But problems comes when I wanna use Google because it's blocked in China.
I have VPN to solve this problem but it's too slow.So I choose to use another DNS server and it works.
But if I use that DNS server,I could not visit my company's website. If I use my company's DNS server, I could not visit Google.
Is there any way that I could have my computer use company's DNS server while visiting company's website and use the other DNS server while visiting google, twitter, etc?
Note that IP addresses is always changing,so hosts doesn't work.
I would recommend dnsmasq, where you can this configuration using the parameter --server:
--server=/google.com/1.2.3.4: this will send all *.google.com queries to server 1.2.3.4
