I am currently running emacs on Gentoo linux. My intention was to use all-the-icons ivy (I also downloaded all-the-icons-ivy). Unfortunately, all the icons come out confusing.
I have already run all-the-icons-install-fonts, per the wiki instructions. Does anyone know what is happening?
You may lack the fonts for all-the-icons.
The all-the-icons documentation recommends installing the fonts by running this command in Emacs:
M-x all-the-icons-install-fonts.
Alternatively, you can try installing the fonts using the package manager for your OS. For Gentoo, there's a package for all-the-icons here.
I ran into a similar issue on an Arch based distro, and was able to resolve it by installing all-the-iconts. For those using Arch based distros, the package can be found here.

Flutter application is extremely slow on linux. The performance tab shows 15fps and it never goes beyond that. I was unable to find any explanation or possible solution for this issue. Any suggestions?

For anyone potentially running into the same problem, this was either an issue with my OS or my flutter SDK. I initially installed the SDK using snap but after reinstalling my OS I installed it by cloning the github repo and setting the path variable etc... (the way explained in the official website) and the issue was resolved.

It means that your glibc is too new.
That's correct, to work around this issue while using linuxdeployqt you have to choose as build environment an older system such as Centos 6 or Ubuntu 14.04.
As an alternative, you can use appimage-builder which allows producing AppImages on newer systems.
It means that your glibc is too new. I think it is supported glibc version comes with Ubuntu 14.04 as it is mentioned in herr https://github.com/probonopd/linuxdeployqt/issues/340. I have faced the same problem and still struggling to solve this issue.
I used the Software Manager in Linux Mint to install Eclipse Platform. It was working yesterday, however, now whenever I run it I get the following error message:
The Eclipse executable launcher was unable to locate its companion shared library.
I tried uninstalling it and then installing it again. Much to my confusion, this did not work. The error message still persists. It implies Eclipse requires a shared dependency that it cannot find. Is there anyway to find out what this is and install it? I've tried 'apt-get dist-upgrade' to update packages but this didn't resolve the issue at hand.
I have been using linux and Eclipse for years, but I would never suggest anyone install Eclipse from the platform repositories for any distribution.

Personally, I would just "Google it." (Or, in my case, "DuckDuckGo it.") Put the exact error-message text in double quotes to tell the search-engine that you are looking for the exact phrase.

I must admit i'm not much of a coder or computer scientist, but in the past a friend installed Weechat on my windows computer using Cygwin (via the Cygwin terminal of course). I have a new computer now thats running windows 8.1 and have installed Cygwin with all of the necessary packages, and downloaded the latest stable version of Weechat (1.2). I am stuck from there though and don't really know which direction to move in, the only thing I have done with Cygwin so far is moved the home terminal folder to a more easier accessible location. Would it be possible to get a step by step walkthrough of how the installation progresses after downloading both the Cygwin component and the Weechat files and scripts?
Before we you can start using WeeChat, there are a few other pieces of software you need to install with CygWin. WeeChat relies on them for its functionality, which is why they are called dependencies.

WeeChat is currently available via the CygWin native repositories.
Simply search for weechat in the CygWin package manager.

No worries, simply rerun the setup-x86-64.exe* you've downloaded. This process won't remove any of your previously installed packages. At the end of the installation process you'll be able to look for and install WeeChat.

I want to add Doxygen plugin to QtCreator.
I am using QtCreator 2.5.2 in ubuntu 12.10 and the latest Doxygen version for QT is 2.4.0.
I've changed the doxygen.pluginspec file to get rid of version error.
But now I've got another error:
can not load library libdoxygen.so (libQtconcurrent.so can not open shared object file:No such file or directory)
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Yes, the quick install binaries are available only for QtCreator 2.4, but the plugin stays easy to install without it : you have to download the sources and build them yourself, as written in the wiki.
Moreover, you have to build it with the same version of Qt4 as the one that was used for build your QtCreator (have a look here)
It became compatible with QtCreator 2.7 and Qt5 at the end of March, and I succeeded in installing in in QtCreator2.8-beta.
If you have any other question, I guess it would be better to ask them in the plugin forum where developpers always answer to people in need.

You can install Doxywizard wich provides an user interface to use Doxygen.
I'm not shure I'm using fedora to install I used.
yum install doxygen-doxywizard.x86_64.
For Ubuntu it should be if the package name is the same.
apt-get install doxygen-doxywizard.x86_64
