Android studio 4.2 Beta 4 falsely displays errors inside the editor when this is none. For example it displays as error the sequences' function find or the Strings' function isNullOrEmpty.
But the build works as expected and on the Stable version of the android studio I do not have those highlight issues.
I have tried:
Deleting the studio's folder
Deleting users/user/.android
Deleting users/user/.gradle
Deleting project's .idea folder
Invalidating caches
Do you have any suggestions? I am running Windows 10 (20H2 Build 19042.746)
After visiting the Configure Android Studio page I got the idea to delete the following folder and everything works as expected now:
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Google\AndroidStudio

In Android Studio, I am getting the following error when trying to run my app on an Android device:
The specified Gradle distribution 'https://services.gradle.org/distributions/gradle-7.2-bin.zip' does not exist.
All my Android Studio projects are affected by this and restoring them to older commits does not change anything.
The problems all started by following the advice given here: Could not install Gradle distribution from 'https://services.gradle.org/distributions/gradle-2.1-all.zip'
I deleted everything in my /.gradle/wrapper/dists/ folder. Now, I get the above error and I do not see how to solve it.
Here is how to reproduce it with Android Studio 2021.1.1 on Windows (but be warned: this might corrupt your projects, too):
Delete everything in /.gradle/wrapper/dists/
Create a new project "Test" in Android Studio (this might take a while, since gradle-7.2-bin.zip will be downloaded in the dists folder)
The project builds and runs without errors
Close Android Studio
Delete everything in /.gradle/wrapper/dists/ again
Open project "Test" in Android Studio
Try to run
Now you should get the above mentioned error.
At this point, /.gradle/wrapper/dists/ is still empty. Now you can do the following:
run gradlew tasks in Terminal in the Project Folder of "Test" (this will take a while, since gradle-7.2-bin.zip will be downloaded in the dists folder again)
run gradlew build (everything should build without errors)
But clicking on "Run" still yields the same error.
I am getting the impression that this is an AndroidStudio / IntelliJ bug.
Can anyone help me with this?
Running Android Studio as Administrator solved the problem for me
It turned out my Android Studio installation was heavily corrupted. Simply, uninstalling it and installing it again also did not help.
I basically had to do everything that was suggested here: How to completely uninstall Android Studio from windows(v10)? and delete everything related to Android Studio. I installed it again and now everything is fine again.
I do not know what the problem was. Maybe the .m2 folder, maybe the Jetbrains folder.
My advice to everyone facing the same issue:
First try around deleting caching folders. If nothing helps, go for the brute force approach and follow the answers (not only the accepted answer) of the above mentioned StackOverflow question.
Yesterday I've upgraded my Windows 7 SP1 Powershell from 2 to 5.1, and upgraded flutter and dart to latest version using the flutter upgrade command, all worked fine, and I continued working as normal. Today after trying to access my project again I got a couple of errors, and all of my project structure gone. What can I do? and why that happened? Was that due to the upgrade? or something else?

Just delete .idea folder from project directory an re run android studio. it worked for me.
The problem is caused by <projectname>.iml inside the root project folder.
First cut the file from the folder and paste it somewhere else
Restart Android Studio
Close it again and put <projectname>.iml back into the root folder
Restart Android Studio once again
simply cut the (PORJNAME).iml into the desktop and re-run the IDE or android studio.
after re-running close the ide again and move back the (PORJNAME).iml to their own place,
and open the ide
Don't delete or rename any file in your project
but when you update flutter, you must have compatible version from other plugins and dependencies with your new version, so
do this steps and run again it will be ok:-
1- Close android studio and open it again
2- From terminal tab down in android studio run (flutter clean)
3- From terminal also run (flutter doctor)
4- Then run (flutter doctor -v)
5- After all at last run (pub outdated)
6- Close android studio and restart
7- Run your project and enjoy.

Intelij Solution
This worked for me
Close Android studio
Delete all files from
C:\Users\.AndroidStudio3.2\system\caches
C:\Users\.AndroidStudio3.2\config //not importent
start android studio
Ran into the same issue. Seems to be something specifically related to Android Studio 3.2. My solution on Windows was to delete everything withing the cache/ folder in the .AndroidStudio3.2/ folder.
This problem happen for Android studio Cache & History.
Firstly In android studio go File -> Close Project and Exit Android Studio.
Then Delete below 2 Folders:
C:\Users\user-name.AndroidStudio3.X\system\caches
C:\Users\user-name.AndroidStudio3.X\config\terminal\history (optional)
Open the Android Studio and Enjoy!
Complete uninstall Android Studio (including system and cache files) and Reinstalling clears my bug...
I recently renamed my project by closing Android Studio, renaming the root project directory then opening A.S again.
A.S names the project using the new directory name, then I open it. A new .iml file is created with the new name. I deleted the old one and cleaned the project.
Everything went fine but now when I build it just deploys the app instead of cleaning it first. I have to manually clean it and it's annoying.
Is there a setting that might have gotten messed up?
Platform Details: Android Studio 3.0.1, Windows 10
Ok. So, apparently if you add flavors to your project then you have to manually clean the project otherwise when you build, Android Studio will launch the previous APK.
My compare files utility from Android Studio 2.3.3 is not working anymore, it shows the message "Can not calculate diff" and generate the following error on Event Log:
NullPointerException: update failed for ActionGroup: null (null)[null]
Here is the log captured by the Report to Google dialog
I'm using Mac, I already uninstalled Android Studio, Android-sdk, cloned the project again from git and deleted the Android folder under ~/User/MyUser/Library/Android, but the problem continues.
It does not happen with the other computers from my team.
Anyone knows how to fix this? It wasn't happening last week.
Delete Android Studio.app
Delete the following folders:
~/Library/Application Support/AndroidStudio
~/Library/Caches/AndroidStudio
~/Library/Logs/AndroidStudio
~/Library/Preferences/AndroidStudio
Reinstall Android Studio.
