Hi Everybody im using adonis 5 in my backend and im saving files at public directory i can to see and to download images but this does not working in pdf file, this working at adonis js 4.1 using adonis drive but drive its not in Adonis 5 there is a some way for to see or to download pdf ad adonis 5?

Case 1:
If you just want to send back a file URL to let your users decide whether to download it or not, you can simply put that file in your public folder and send them the link: e.g. http://{{YOUR_HOST}}/filename.ext
This will work just fine until you have the static server configured properly.
Case 2:
If you want to forcibly make users download your files - rather than just visiting them in the browser - you may want to use the attachment helper which automatically sets proper response headers for downloading files.
ctx.response.attachment('public/filename.ext')

I have a MEVN Stack app. This requires to upload media files to the database. From the client-side, I am posting a multipart type form which will send the file to the server through Axios. I don't know how to store that in the MongoDB database and retrieve the same.
What you are looking for, is creating an API in node.js to handle uploaded file. (You can use express.js to make your life easier if you are not already using it)
In Vue.js create a component to upload a file and store the files in the file system on the server might be in a folder that is accessible through the web server (like in a public folder).
Finally, save the URL to access the file in MongoDB so, you can reference it later. You can google for tutorials on this, an example is here.
Am not saying that i dont know how because i tried it before using multer and it works perfectly fine but the thing is these images get saved to a foldet called uploads with a namd and an id that i generatr using js
What i want to know : is this the propper way of doing it and if so wherr does that folder go to after hosting your website and does it contain alll the images from my website, i mean it will be a really large folder so where does it go to when hosting ??
PS: And another thing whenever i go to youtube or facebook etc i see a domain like i.ytimg.com containing these images so how is that acheived
I don't know if my reply would be helpful, but the way I use it is I save the image in a mongoDB database (Buffer) and just load it from the database.
I wrote a script that is using slack API to parse AWS S3 files looking for strings or samples. As this is in testing, I'm using my local machine and ngrok to forward localhost traffic.
The thing is that the generated files are getting stores in my machine and will be stored in server once the script is ready for production.
Ideally, I'd like to avoid users needing to grab files from server. Do you think it's possible to store directly in user local machine?
No. Slack does not allow you to access the local machine of their users through a Slack app / API.
Solution 1: Download via browser
The easiest solution would be to offer a direct download link in a Slack message, e.g. via a Link button. Once the user clicks it he is prompted to download the file to his local machine.
Here is an example from one of my apps:

To enable downloading via browser you need to set appropriate headers and send the file contents to the browser.
One approach is to have a helper script for the actual download and include a link to the helper script in the link button (you may also want to include some parameters in the link that defines what which file is downloaded).
The helper script then does the following:
Fetch the file to be downloaded (e.g. an PNG image)
Set headers to enable downloading via browser
Send the file to the browser
Here is an example in PHP:

Solution 2: Upload to Slack
Alternatively you could upload the file to the user's Slack workspace via file.upload API method. That way the user does not need to download anything and and you can remove the file from your server after your app has finished processing.
I am currently using dropbox file picker to download the file. I got the download link after selection of file using dropbox picker.
Is there any possibility that we can save it inside bytestream in browser and upload it to server(Node.JS) using http post call ?
Or Is there any alternative to this scenario ?

Instead of downloading and reuploading the file on the browser, I would have this step to be processed on the server side.
You can use Dropbox and S3 sdk's and follow the steps below:
Make a call to the server that will send IDs of the list of files available in Dropbox.
Let the user select a file in the angular app and send the selected file's resource identifier back to the server.
Download the file and then re-upload it to the S3 on the server side.
Display the result/status back to the user.
Is there any reason you want this to be done in the frontend?
Sorry, It might be very novice problem but I am new to node and web apps and just have been stuck on this for couples of days.
I have been working with a API called "Face++" that requires user to upload images to detect faces. So basically users needed to upload images to my webapps backend and my backend would do an API request with that image. I somehow managed to upload the files at my node's backend using tutorial provided below but now I am struggling how to use those image files. I really don't know how to have access to those files. I thought writing just the filepath/filename would help but it did not. I am really new at webapps.

As per in documentation it requires a live URL on web. Then you have to upload your files into remote location (You may upload files to a Amazon S3 Bucket)
