Today I tried to download the package quick.db. npm failed and sent the following error:

I read online a bit about the problem and realized that the command should be run:
npm i --global windows-build-tools --vs2015
It did not work. npm send the same error.
After reading the error I realized that the command should be run:
npm run build-release
But when I ran the command, npm sent another problem:
npm ERR! missing script: build-release
After the script was missing, I downloaded the build-release package with the command:
npm i build-release
But that did not solve the problem
If anyone knows what the problem is, please help me.
Try running npm rebuild, it should fix an issue with incorrectly downloaded packages

I'm trying to start a Docker with an Ubuntu image and the installing zmq from npm.
It seems that when it executes the npm install it uses the kernel from my computer (Arch Linux 4.8.13) to compile the packages.
How could I force to use the image Ubuntu in the docker to compile the packages of the npm?
I let you here a screenshot with the result of the build and the Dockerfile

Been trying to fix the problem for two days, please help me.
I'm trying to reprogram a dash button to send an SMS to a phone. The task I am trying to attempt is located here: https://github.com/sanzgiri/dash-sms. Below is a copy of the error message I've been getting. Any insight is much appreciated. I'm using Ubuntu version 16 in a virtual machine.

I believe the code is confugure to work with "node" instead of "nodejs".
You can setup a simlink or just run this command. It solved the issue for me.
sudo apt install nodejs-legacy
Had the same issue and nothing would work. Finally had to go to node 0.10.26 on the pi.
Used NVM instead of direct node install.
curl -o- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/creationix/nvm/v0.32.1/install.sh | bash
nvm install 0.10.26

It is a recently installed lubuntu, and I don´t know what to do. Any suggestion to solve the problem?? Any other module to print??
Thank you.
I think node-gyp is not up to date in your system and also cups-config is not installed, try to re-install node-gyp using apt-get with this command : sudo apt-get install node-gyp and install cups-config using command : sudo apt-get install libcups2-dev
Running 'sudo npm install' on MAC, I got the error about node-gyp rebuild on the base64#2.1.0 install. Any way to resolve this problem? Please help.

I have resolved this issue by using older version of node v0.10.40
I was facing similar issue.
Followed the following steps to fix it on MacOS highSierra 10.13:
Downloaded command line tools (MacOS 10.13) for xcode and installed it. Download it from "https://developer.apple.com/download/more/"
Installed xcode 10.0 from the app store. Opened xcode and went through the regular configuration xcode does in the initial start up.
After this it started giving "xcode-select" path issue as stated in the description above. On running command "xcode-select --print-path" it was showing path as '/ Library/Developer/CommandLineTools', so i went ahead and tried "xcode-select --reset" after which the path changed to "/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer". Immediately after it the build started working without any issues.
