I decided to upgrade my version of nodejs from 8.11.1 to 10.15.3. I am running on Windows 10 so I downloaded v10.15.3-x64.msi file. I created a brand new Angular application from "ng new" command and I got the "HTTP ERROR 400" page with no error in the console.
I have cleared the cache, reboot the system and nothing helps. When I will go back to node JS version 8.11.1 everything starts to work again. The newest version of nodejs v11.11.0-x86.msi also doesn't work for me.
How this can happen and how can I get any information what is going on?
EDIT: this is not a duplication of any existing topics about upgrading NodeJS, because the new version is seen by the system and all components - see the console result in the screenshot I provided. After upgrading the NodeJs all my solutions based on that technology stoped working showing HTTP Error 400 page. After degrading to v8 everything starts working again.
The problem came back when I had to install newer version of node (12.14.1), so this time it worked. Additionally I deleted folders that prompted from runnig where npm command after deleting an old version.

I need to set the node version to an older version for a new project I am working on. I am on Windows 11 Pro. This is a new computer that I setup yesterday and is pretty clean from a node perspective.
I have just removed nodejs and installed nvm (v 1.1.10).
After calling nvm install 16.19.0, I tried to call nvm use 16.19.0 and recieved the following error popup:

I was expecting this to set my current node version to 16.19.0.
I was trying to do this while running git-bash from Visual Studio Code so when I loaded up git-bash as Administrator I was able to get the nvm use call to work correctly.
Sorry for the stupid question, but I didn't see it answered on here anywhere else, so hopefully it will be useful to someone else.
I am using the LTS version of NodeJS. The problem started with version node-v16.18.0-x64 and did continue with node-v18.12.0-x64.
What I am doing:
Developing Playwright test. I ran the test and NodeJS was working. After one minute, I rerun the test and NodeJS is no longer recognized in my OS.
The issue appears when I am using Cypress, so I think the issue is not related to the technology that I am using.
I checked the environment variable: It is there.
The workaround I am doing is to uninstall the NodeJS from the control panel and install it again. There is an option to repair the NodeJS installation. But when I try to use it, I receive an error message that the NodeJS is not installed on this OS.
I installed node.js to work on a discord bot with VSCode but it didn't work.
I reinstalled it but ticked the 'install chocolatey' box this time, halfway through the installation I got 3 trojan alerts from my AV, and cancelled the installation.
Since then, I have been unable to uninstall, repair or reinstall Node.JS, through the Windows 10 uninstall function or from the Node.JS .msi file.
Each time I try, I get the same error message:
"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed."
I've removed all instances of Node.JS from my program files and %appdata%, I've ensure the Installer Service is running, and yet the Node.JS application still shows in the Uninstall Tool and when I try to uninstall / modify / reinstall, it shows the same error, and seems to think it's still installed on my system! Not even Node.JS commands work in my CMD!
I've got no idea how to fix this, and I don't want to use glitch anymore to write my bot, so please help- or it seem's I'll have to factory reset my PC and hope that resolves the issue.

EDIT: I tried installing a newer version hoping it would overwrite old Node.JS files. Didn't work. Issue still occurring.
Do these:
Open command prompt as Administrator and run /sfc scannow. It will scan and replace corrupted files.
Restart your PC when the scan is done.
I am using Angular 7. Till last night it was working fine but since this morning whatever change I am making in the code is not showing in the browser. I have tried clearing browser history installing latest cli installing latest webpack but nothing is seems to work. I think I need to clear the node servers cache. Please help.
It was not a browser issue.

would anybody happen to know the latest versions that work together on Windows Vista? I've been back and forth trying to get the right combination together but ng new never works for some reason or another.

I'm having a bit of a problem here. I attempted to update angular/cli and I got errors telling me I need to update my version of node. I have windows vista so I'm pretty much stuck with node 5.7 and npm 3.6 until I can afford a new computer.
I tried uninstalling angular and clearing the cache and installing angular-cli#1.0.0-beta.14 and it installs. I can create a new project with it though it takes a long time to create it, and it also throws an error with node-pre-gyp. I came across an article on Github that said it's meant to be installed locally in the project and not globally. So I tried uninstalling, clearing cache and installing without -g to make it local within my project folder and it still has errors installing and I still can't serve my project.
How can I clear this all up and just start back with a clean slate of Angular2? I've looked around and everything I find leads me to the docs which are now updated to something beyond what my computer can handle.

Have you considered running Linux? There are many versions with a lightweight GUI that runs well on older hardware. Ubuntu Mate is an example. It's harder to run node on Windows because of symlinks.
